I missed my Dylan so very, very much, I was so glad to see him again, "his sharp nose flared, and she could tell her touch was affecting him more than she could ever know." He's still as sweet and caring for Shade, always putting her before himself, "come sit down and eat something. Starving and worrying yourself to death won't help any. Tomorrow it's your turn. You need to keep your energy up." Shade she's still just as caring if not more in this installment, "that's what I was hoping for. I can't lose you. You and my siblings, that's all I have left. I'd give up the world if I could, make sure you guys would be safe." This time there was no cliffhanger (I was prasin' the lord because of it) and I'm truly excited about the spin off series, there were so many other characters in the book that I fell in love with that I wanted them to have a story and now they will I'm also hoping to see Dylan and Shade in these spin off books because in all honesty no book is complete without those two.

My teenage daughter received an ARC of Ever Wrath, she has really enjoyed all the books in this series. Here is her review:
I really enjoyed this book. Usually as books get farther into the series they start getting dull, but not with Ever Wrath! I absolutely LOVED the ending (not gonna spoil it!) and like I said, I LOVE IT. LOVE IT. I can't wait until I can read Benton's Spinoff!!!! :D

I have always been a lover of the fantasy genre. When I first ran across Evangeline and Ever Shade for free, I was hooked on this series. Alexia Purdy has created a wonderful series that ties the World of Fae and humans together. Throughout this entire series, each of the characters have grown, made mistakes, and learned from those mistakes. The is also true for the latest book in the series, Ever Wrath.

In Ever Wrath, we continue where the last book Ever Winter left off. Shade is still seeking to end the war in the land of Fae that also threatens to destroy the human world. Her quest to find the remaining Ancients continues, but yields unexpected results. Her relationship with Dylan grows while she still has to combat unwanted advances from others. This book, like the previous books in this series, is well written. You laugh, get angry, and cry along with the characters. You feel as if you are a part of their world.

If you have not already read any of the books in this series, please do so. You won't be disappointed. The prequel, Evangeline, and the first book, Ever Shade, are currently free. This series is perfect for the YA genre as well as older readers as well. I would highly recommend this series to my grandchildren.

I received a copy from the author for an honest review.
What can I say? Ms. Purdy is a hero of mine in all aspects. Her writing style is addicting to me and she knows how to reel her fans in. Her words flow with ease and you can’t help but feel like you are a part of all the action she has her characters a part of. So with much ado, I give you an insight on this great series and the next book in it.
All 4 Ancients must be awake at the same time to bring balance back to the land. But when there is conflict among them, Shade has her work cut out for her. Is she powerful enough to handle what they have in store for her? Does Nautilus cause problems between Shade and Dylan with their relationship? What is Kilara, the Summer Ancient’s secret that could cause more chaos within the balance of the world? Can they really defeat the Unseelie army? Which side will Shade go with and will she actually join forces with Arthas? You will have to read this exciting story and find out the answers.
Thank you Ms. Purdy, again, for an epic story that will be one of my favorites and hope others will agree. I love how much Shade has grown thru these series and seeing the ending results of who she has become.

Alexia has completely sold me on another of her series and I was not disappointed with the final book in this part of the series. We have watched Shade grow up from being just a normal human teenager to this all powerful elemental and faerie queen. In this book Shade starts to realize that she is even more powerful than she thought before and wonders if some of her choices did more harm than good. I always hate giving away spoilers in reviews because I think that you should be surprised when you read the book, but I can say that Shade finally gets one of her greatest desires in this book and that it has been long awaited!

The book was well written and it kept me pulled in as it has since the beginning with these characters. Shade has had me in love with her and with Dillon since day one, their bond is so touching and Alexia makes it feel real by showing that it is not always perfect but they are always there for each other. My other two favorite characters make an appearance in this book, Jack and Vange who we have not seen a whole lot of the past couple books have come back and play a significant part in the book and give us a new twist. Benton has grow up and shows us how he will be ready for his new spin off series that will be coming out sometime next year to pick up the story line.

Overall I was very happy with this book, I gave it a 5 stars instead of a 4 because sometimes when books start hitting 3+ books in a series they start to become overly repetitive. Girl gets kidnapped, boy saves girl, girl gets kidnapped, boy saves girl, and we all groan because we love then book but we hate it too. I didn't feel that way about this book because there was enough variation and differences that it kept me guessing and was still unpredictable. So if you have not read the series yet, what are you waiting for?!

Once again Alexia Purdy has proven just how easy it is to grip a reader and leave them wanting more. I was fortunate enough to be given an advanced read of the 4th novel in her Dark Faerie Tale series.

Ever Wrath picks up shortly after the events of Ever Winter. Shade has assumed her position as queen of the Seelie Summer Court with her fiancé at her side. Sadly she has tragically lost a few friends and her mother in a battle with the Unseelie court. The reader finds Shade travelling with companions to try to find and awaken the Ancient Summer Queen in order to stop the Unseelie Ancient King and current queen from taking over the faerie and human worlds.

The little group soon finds themselves in the position of doubting those they thought they could trust and trusting those they had previously doubted. Enemies find themselves allied against the Unseelie as Shade has to find a way to defeat Arthas once and for all.

Purdy works so many incredible twists and turns into her stories that I find it near impossible to put them down. Her characters are confronted with larger issues of trust, fidelity, and morality and put into situations that would try just about anyone.

The lives of the characters are so real to the reader that when they are hurt or scared, you feel those same emotions. You want to tell them that it will all work out and you want to share in the joyous moments of their lives.

I am so incredibly happy that I started reading the Dark Faerie Tale because Ms Purdy has managed to create one of those worlds that you never want to leave. It’s a “happy place” to go to during the stresses of everyday life and she consistently leaves you satisfied yet wanting more.

Oh … and that character I had been missing since book 1 … he’s back and just as awesome as I remember.

Happy Reading :-)

Ever Wrath by Alexis Purdy

Rating *****

This book was received from the author for honest literary review.

So, you think you know Shade? Well you haven't even begun to scratch the surface until you open this one. The story picks up right where we last seen her. Ascending to her throne has been anything but easy. Now, it is up to her to help raise her siblings as well as save the world. Easy as pie right?
Well it should be but unfortunately when you throw in a few bipolar immortals who need to let it go honestly lol, it gets to be a more than sticky situation for Shade. This is her wildest ride yet.
Just like the rest of the bold in this series this one is a page turning edge of your seat adventure. Talk about being glued to your ereader! I didn't want topve until I finished the whole thing, then I was mad that it was over!!!! My future little green husband finally comes back to us in this one which put me over the moon. I have to say I can phase with him anytime.
My favorite part of these books is the author gives enough information so anyone can pick this up and read it as a stand alone novel. zof course, after yoy finish then you won't rest until you have finished The whole series.
I don't want to give spoilers because I just can't do the writing justice. it is beyond amazing. The plot is well developed and so fast paced it had me biting what's left of my nails. I love each of The characters and by now I feel like I know each of them well. They are like family to me.
This is by far my favorite of the series so far. However, that said I hope she continues to write several more, because I will read each and everyone. This is one of those series you just don't want to end. These books are like potatoe chips, you can't read just one.
One of my top five books I have read this year! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Shade has faced many challenges since her first chance meeting with the land of Faerie, but this challenge will be the greatest of all! In the fourth installment of A Dark Faerie Tale Series, Shade is faced with what seems to be an impossible task of bringing an end to the evil that has long been growing and working to take over Faerie. She also must protect the human world which faces the unknown threat of Faerie wards disappearing and in turn allowing the two worlds to cross. Shade frantically searches to find a solution that will once and for all bring balance back to the land of faerie. With the support of Dylan, her family, friends and allies in Faerie, she finds the strength to push forward. In the end, she must ultimately decide who can really be trusted and whether enemies can become allies given the right circumstances.

I love this series and have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. I was not disappointed. It was fast paced, full of adventure and kept you guessing who Shade really could trust and whether she was up for the task. Shade always is willing to be at the front of danger and is a great heroine! And in the words (or thoughts) of Shade, “There was no better way to die than to know it was coming.”

Alexia Purdy has a wonderful imagination and the stories that she tells keep you reading as fast as you can to find out what will happen next!! If you have not read any of her books, you are truly missing out!!!

I received a free eARC of Ever Wrath from the author in exchange for an honest review.

In Ever Wrath, the thrilling continuation of A Dark Faerie Tale Series, Purdy amps up the suspense and action to an exciting new level. It is non-stop adventure. There are unexpected betrayals and new alliances. Shade grows even more into her powers and matures as a person. Tough decisions have to be made regardless of the sacrifices some will require. How much will Shade have to give up to save the humans and the land of Faerie? Who will save Shade?
It’s hard to find words that will express how wonderfully written and put together this series is. Purdy has kept this series fast paced and intriguing throughout. The characters have grown and we are immersed into a wonderful world of fantasy that could be. Shade is an awe inspiring character. Purdy really expresses Shade’s journey from average human teen to a poised warrior Queen of the Seelie Court. She grows Shade’s character with hard lessons and plenty of doubt. It doesn’t happen overnight which some authors tend to do. Alexia Purdy has an abundance of creative talent that is showcased throughout this series and with every book you can see her own personal growth as she develops her characters.

Another great book in the series that while takes your imagination to new heights as the story continues…

However, things have not gone as planed and now she has proven herself quite the force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile she has come up with another plan that could put Shade in more danger than ever before. Question is what is she really up to? Will Dylan and Shade’s relationship survive all the chaos that is about to be unleashed? Can they defeat the Unsellie army or will she need the aid of Arthas….
Well you will just have to pick up this Amazing read to find out!
What an Amazing Author she has a natural Talent for writing that has intrigued me from the first novel in this series. She has managed to bring this adventure to life in my heart and mind!! I look forward to see what is in store next!!

I would just like to tell everyone how honored I feel that Alexia allowed me to be a beta reader for this book. I fell in love with the series from the first chapter of Ever Shade.
The story captivates and draws you in so completely that you can't put it down until the last page has been turned. I don't want to give a single thing away so I won't go into a drawn out review. What I can tell you is that the characters never stop growing with the story. With each book I fell in love with them all over again. Every bit of the story is so descriptive that I can close my eyes and see the land of faery like beautiful painting in my mind. Every emotion that was felt in the book was my emotion as read it.
When I got to the end of Ever Wrath and saw two little words my heart almost stopped until I turned the page (well played by the way Alexia). If you haven't picked up this wonderful series I strongly suggest you do, you will not regret it! And since Ever Shade, the first book in the series is free right now on amazon you have no excuses.

In this book of the series we find Shade going to find and wake the Ancient Summer Queen so that she can help them stand up against the Unseelie Ancient King before the King tries to take over the faerie and human world. Thats as much detail that you will pull from these lips regarding spoilers.... oh and my heartthrob Dylan is more active in this book! <3<3<3

Im giving another sigh of love. Alexia's A Dark Faerie Tale Series is just getting better and better with each additional book. This book, Ever Wrath, is as much a page turner just as the rest in the series were. You get grabbed in and time stands still as you become completely absorbed into Shade's world. Alexia has such a powerful imagination and it comes across very clearly in each of her books and this one is no exception to that rule.

Im excited to learn that there will be spin-off stories from this series and I cant wait to get my hands... er my eyes on them.

Thank you Alexia for such an awesome series!

I was chewing my nails waiting for this book to come out and Alexia did not disappoint, it picked right up where book 3 left off so I felt like we were right back in it from page 1. Alexia is such a great writer I was sucked in to the story immediately and the pages practically turned themselves. All of Alexia's books are visually stunning which I know sounds odd for a book but if you have read any of her previous books you know exactly what I mean. I could see the Ice Palace crumble and was totally creeped out by the shifting hallways in the Withering Palace. As much as I love Dylan and Shade I loved how the supporting characters have started to develop in this book like Benton and Anna. I could go on and on about everything I loved but I don't want to give out any spoilers. I think I will just go re- read the book instead

Ever Wrath
A Dark Faerie Tale #4

It feels like such an ending with this book, though I know there is much more to come, all be it in a different form. This series has come so far, and this book is no different, with the characters all becoming part of my life. Shade has grown so much, and I’ve been there every step of the way, reading all about it. Saying this book is amazing is an understatement, what I will say is if you’ve read the series, this book will not disappoint and you’ll be left wanting to drag it out as it comes towards an end. The best part, I was left remembering all the other books throughout, which only added to my enjoyment.

Definitely a good read! Ever Wrath is just like what I love about faeries! I love how the story continued and I can't get enough of it!

As the series continue, it keeps getting better and better. I love how Shade gets stronger as she faces the challenges and issues that comes in her way. I love how she became having also a stronger personality (definitely what I am looking for). And Dylan, gah!! I really love this guy, definitely a good character and he's easy to love. The way the book/story ended was really great! I love how the things went and I'm not disappointed with it!! Fantastic!!

Ms. Alexia did a really great job in this series! I loved them all! Definitely worth to read!

For fear of revealing anything (because I can not stand spoilers!) I will be keeping this brief. Ever Wrath was a phenomenal book. Shade continues to grow and become more herself. Throughout the book Shade learns more about her abilities, family and future. I could not stand the times I had to put the book down to deal with real life! Ever Wrath continued from where the previous book left off never missing a beat. To witness ancients, love, faerie and the magic is an experience that should not be missed. Alexia Purdy creates such a vivid picture that I can see the story as if I am there ready fight or cry right along side Shade. If you have enjoyed the previous Dark Faerie Tales you will not be disappointed.

Received book as ARC(my 1st ever)from author Alexia Purdy. Awesome story that continues where book 3 left off and links you back when needed reminded about what happened in the books 1-3, which helped my memory remember since it has been awhile since I read the others in the series. The story kept me wanting to not put it down I just wanted to keep reading to see what happened. You will truly enjoy this book should you decide to read it. I highly recommend the whole series and plan on reading the spinoff History of Fire. Thanks for writing such great stories.

Since I'm not good at writing reviews, I will say that no words from me will be good enough for this book. I was held captive by it and found it hard to stop reading when I had other things I needed to do. My one suggestion is to start this series from the beginning. It's easy to pick up on from just this book (I've read the first one but was given this one in exchange for an honest review) but events from previous books are spoiled by reading this one first. You will enjoy this book and be waiting for the next one to come out.

Shade is back where she belongs as queen but she is still fighting a battle. Four ancients are now in Faery land at the same time to many ancients and not enough power. Will Shade be able to defeat the Ancients? Is the enemy the key to beating Arthas? and keep her family and friends safe? I love this series and cannot get enough of the characters and more of the story will be following this series.

I was so looking forward to reading this book and I wasnt disappointed.
Shade really comes into her own. The final two ancients to be awakened and only a blood descendant can wake the Ancient Summer Seelie Queen.
If you have read other books in this series then this is a must read. I am hoping the author still continues to write books for this series

I think Ever Wrath was the best of the series!! The reason I say this is not only is her relationship with Dylan in full bloom, but now Shade has came one with her powers and believes in herself.

Ever Wrath was easy to dive right into. It was like I just finished the last book.

The borders between Faerie and the human world are dropping. Humans will be able to see that they were not alone on their planet. Even though this could be disastrous, the worst part is what the unseelie faeries will do to the humans.
Shade, who has grown into her role as Queen, must stop this from happening. But how can a halfing like her take on the Ancients? With the help of her friends, she must test her resolve and push her self to the limit. Failure is not an option. She must protect those she loves and the world of Faerie.
Even after being betrayed by "friends", Shade must learn to forgive and work with them if she hopes to win this battle. Alliances are fluid and one never knows if the one beside them is truly friend or foe.
Ms. Purdy did an amazing job creating a world full of well constructed good guys, those loveable characters that linger somewhere in the grey, and the truly despicable evil beings. She makes you want to believe in magic, even though it may not be all good. Shade has grown so much into her role as Queen and as a halfing. You can't help wanting something more for Corb, even after all he had done. When Shade chose Dylan, I felt for Soup. But Soup is a strong character. He was, of course, heart broken by the decision Shade had made. But he bounces right back and ironically ends up with Shade's best friend, who happens to be 100% human.
Although in the end, you have to wonder...is it really over?

I fell in love with Shade's story a long time ago, each instalment cant come fast enough. When I first read Ever Shade in August if 2012 I was amazed at how different Purdy's Faerie world was compared to others I had read. In a genre where books can seem very samey Shade's story stands out as completely unique, and that is something that has continued with Ever Wrath.

Shade has grown so much since we first meet her in Ever Shade, she's almost unrecognisable. The girl who tried to ignore the voices in her head now embraces the knowledge and comfort those voices bring to her. She has gone from a 'normal girl who hears voices' to a kick ass faerie queen who seems to be getting stronger at every turn.

Purdy has written an entire series that you can truly sink your teeth into, one that hasn't lost its lustre as the series has progressed.Ever Wrath is the complete package, it is a non stop adventure, filled with betrayals, alliances, surprises and love. And an ending that really truly feels like an ending, despite the fact that some things are left unresolved. But don't fret, I have a feeling that we may still get the answers we seek in the History of Fire

{my thoughts} – This book was a beautifully written in so many different ways. In this book we got to learn more about all four of the Ancients and a handful of their ancestors. We also got to learn that even though some individuals appear to be very evil inside that in the end it is possible for them to become good.

Jade and Dylan are stronger then ever in this book. Her siblings have mostly grown up and evolved well in the Land of Fairie. Things have changed for the entire family, but for the most part it has been all good things. She has her siblings and her two best friends Brisa and Soap. She also has Lana her Grandmother still helping to guide her deep within her thoughts. She makes a few new pals in this book and of course some more enemies but in the end it all works out magnificently. A little heads up – The Epilogue is emotionally well written!

There are so many things I want to say about this book, but I don’t want to ruin it for others. So, I am going to say you need to get the book or the whole series if you haven’t read any. They are worth the read. You can trust me! I am anxious for Miss Purdy to start releasing the spin-off series mentioned at the back of this book!

Loved this book. Arthas has determined that the boundaries of Faerie will be eliminated and he will rule the world. Shade, Dylan and her comrades are determined to stop him and his armies. Awakening the Ancients seems like her only choice, but is it the right one? Could they cause more chaos and harm than good and healing?

I like how Shade is growing and changing. She is maturing and learning all through her journeys and trials. Dylan is so strong and steady. His unending love for Shade is probably why I am completely in love with him! Shade makes new alliances, mends old friendships that need it, and is set on saving both the human and Faerie worlds. I love the secondary characters and their stories that are just as interesting but do take a backseat to the overall story. Those 'secondary lines' are an integral part of the big picture though and the author does a great job of showing each character and weaving them seamlessly into the story.

I rate this a 5/5. It was a great addition to the series but can also be read as a stand alone!

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
