Rate this book
When Robert’s illness struck, everything changed. The loss of her high school sweetheart left a hole in Juliana’s heart that transformed the outgoing and compassionate woman into a shell of grief and pain. Their home, once filled with laughter and love from their foster children, became cold and empty.

But after a search through his old belongings unearths Robert’s secret dream, Juliana is infused with a newfound sense of purpose that drags her out of her sorrow. Determined to finish her husband’s work, she and her “perfect” – yet estranged – sister embark on a turbulent and emotional adventure to build his dream house.

Faced with roadblocks, troublesome contractors, and unspoken family drama that threatens life-changing consequences, Juliana pours her soul into realizing Robert’s last wish. With an unlikely new friendship blossoming between her and the architect Ezra, can Juliana embrace her new purpose and find a new direction in life? Or will the pressure cause her to retreat back into her shell?

Yay for Juliana and her fundraiser, which I am hoping is a major success. She could never have done it without her sister Hilary and good friend, Rachel. Juliana gave a heart moving regarding her beloved husband, Robert, whom everyone knew and loved.

As it was nearing the end numbers were good, but not meeting their hopes and dreams. They still had time to make a plea to those attending as Hilary mentioned to Juliana, but she was spent and exhausted from all of the work to get this fundraiser up and going and not being an extrovert and someone to speak in front of the crowd and giving the speech she had to everyone in attendance, she was exhausted and went out to get some air.

While strolling and enjoying the beautiful, lit path around the fancy hotel and the beautiful twinkling stars she wet down the lit path and heard two men having a loud, heated discussion. She was turning around and leaving when she caught the one voice, it was Ezra! She heard Ezra and his cousin arguing and she learned during this discussion that Ezra's cousin was Harrison, who she was scared of and went forward to let them know she heard their argument and told them both to leave her fundraiser and her life.

I received an ARC copy from the author and am giving my review voluntarily

What a low blow even for Ezra! I had such high hopes for him, but I am not giving up on him. I know that he has a conscious and will do right by Juliana even if she doesn't talk to him ever again. Hilary has been a god send and I am so glad that she has Juliana's back one hundred percent. Rachel has also been a true friend through and through. I truly enjoyed how she put the female developer in her place after she insinuated that Juliana should go with her company as a way to help the female group out! Juliana, Hilary, and Rachel believe in what they want to create on the land, and I admire them for it. I look forward to book six and what it unravels. Will Juliana succeed in acquiring the funding needed to build the much need home for those misplaced or will she fall short? What will she have to face next??

I received this book as an ARC and my reviews are my own.

This series was just not my usual read and I did not much enjoy it. First of all, it should have been written as one book with 5 chapters, not broken up into separate books.

The story was too "feel good" and lacked substance. It was very unrealistic in that the sisters held a fundraiser for a project to benefit the community but in actuality, it only benefitted themselves. As a professional in the fundraising field, it bugged me that they were not a licensed charity. The donors who gave to them should have done their homework to see that these two women had no experience working with farm/rescued animals and no idea how to run a charitable organization. So the donors basically funded the building of the sister's private beach house.

The gala is here! Juliana and Hilary are busy with all the preparations, and there are many people (and companies) interested in Juliana’s land. We’re left in suspense at the end of this installment about how much money has been raised, and there were harsh words between Juliana and Ezra, as it seems he was not all that she hoped for.

I’m ready for the next part!

My thanks to the author for the ARC. My opinions are my own.

This series explores multiple relationships. A widow getting over the loss if her husband and sisters who have not had much of a relationship since childhood. I enjoyed the story as Juliana comes to grips with the loss of her husband and their plans to help foster kids. Juliana and her sister Hilary rebuilt their relationship as sisters. Hilary makes long needed changes in her life. I wanted to keep reading!

Oh boy, this book is really heating up. Ezra is a slick character. Will the funds be sufficient to build the group home for the kids and animals. Will the sisters family bond be strengthened to last the test of time? Ends on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book by the author and I am freely sharing my review.

Juliana continues plans for the fundraiser. Her sister Hilary has been so very helpful making plans for the Gala Event. Meanwhile Juliana is still being bothered by strangers trying to offer her money for her property. Who would know Ezra was not who he seemed to be?

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

I am really enjoying the conflicts and turns in this series. Juliana, Ezra, Hillary, Rachel, Harrison, Zuzu and that new kitten provide the perfect escape from the summer heat that I need.

The fundraiser went very well and Juliana found out a few things about someone she thought was worthy of her trust and friendship. As with the other books, this is also a 3.5.
