Coming back to this series now, you can see the difference in this book compared to the previous three. I never noticed it before, and I guess knowing that Sebastian Rook is just a pseudonym and two authors write three books each really brought it into light, but there's a stark difference in writing, including with the characters. There's not a massive difference with them, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, but you can tell by the little things that the Jack, Ben and Emily in these three books are coming from someone else's pen. Again, I liked the plague aspect in this, with how they assume it's the same as before but then realise that the game has changed and everything that they thought they knew is now irrelevant.

Compared to previous ones it was of the same level,it was kind of lame, and this very happy ending was very happy to the point of cringe, hopefully the other two would be bet, and the fact about Jack is not a brainer, yea it is for young readers, but it is sooo obvious it is annoying. It is even spoiling the next one already

I noticed the cover art style changed between the first three books and last three in the Vampire Plagues series. I myself really liked the original style of cover art and wish they had stuck with it. It had an mystery and antiquate feel about it. It is what first caught my eye when I found those books in my school library. For that -though I have not yet read the last three books and can therefore give no opinion on their story lines- I am taking one star off. Once they are read, I shall reevaluate.
