Effective, daring absurdist dark comedy, though a bit rougher around the edges, less finely tuned than the stunning, beautifully written THE GOAT, OR WHO IS SYLVIA? by the masterful Edward Albee.

Well-written, surprising, effective. Funny where it means to be, shocking where it should be, and deeply sad where it needs to be. Silver is walking a tightrope with this story, but he’s a pro at it and he makes it to the end. But what theater company could possibly produce it given the subject matter? I can’t imagine any way to market it to an audience that would not have them instinctively recoil from it.

Well, Beautiful child made me think, so that's nice, but I am starting to notice a literary tend of gay teachers who sleep with students and I really hate that association. I think the character is gay in this play to make a point like Albee's The Goat or Who is Sylvia, but really, I saw nothing added to the play by making the son gay.
