Book 3 of a new action-packed LitRPG Adventure with strong-to-stronger progression, strategic battles, endearing characters, and slice-of-life elements.
Join Glenn as he shows just how large a small town can be, making new friends and supportive allies as he gains experience for everything from 'Watching the Gate' Quests to 'Slay Attacking Monsters'. Have you ever wondered while playing Skyrim or other RPGs what the guards are up to when you're not around? Probably not. But maybe you should have...
I docked 1 star for the author juvenile fantasies. For trying to turn this series into HAREM themed smut-rag. In this day and age, where porn and erotica is available online in 4k and FREE, I don't understand these authors incessant need to add haremesqe themes. Who really gets excited by reading/listening to it when you engrossed in an LitRPG or any book for that matter? I don't. If I wanted to read erotica if would have visited any number of sites that I visit.
Can’t believe I slogged it out with this series for 3 books. Every character is horny first, human second. It reads like the manifesto of the guy from work who loudly insists he’s an ally but actually gives very creepy back rub style hugs to everyone in the office. The series can’t decide if it’s a power trip litrpg or slice of life harem fic but keeps tying its hands so it can’t do either well. The main character makes the most unbelievably boring choices at every turn and guess what, that doesn’t make him endearing, stalwart, or ‘true of heart’, it makes the book boring. I don’t like that I’m being this negative about a book… I think I’m just coming down off finishing the new stormweaver book and was hoping this could be my methadone, and it’s really not taking the edge off the fact I gotta wait 18 months for another hit of the good shit.
I enjoyed book 1, struggled a bit with book two especially at the end, and now that book 3 is here I really enjoyed it. It might even be the best book in the bunch.
Jake is now a SoulSeer, a new class that someone else also has that he needs to eventually level to 40. So, it has been decreed by the gods. The class lets him have out of body experiences and he can see anyone's status sheet without their permission. There is a reason this class exists that I won't go into.
Jake arrives in a new city and feels a bit lost. Sara is there but Becka hasn't returned yet. He putters around doing this and that and eventually decides to level by facing off against soul whisps, where he almost dies. There he meets another character who becomes integral to the rest of the book.
As is usual with this series there is a mystery they need to solve. I won't spoil what it is, but I enjoyed it all the same, and his name class gives something interesting ways to get things done that weren't possible before. The editing is very good and there are plenty of stats (because he can see the stats of everyone he meets). In fact, he gets 5 experience points for every status sheet he looks at and that becomes his primary means of leveling up.
I really enjoyed this. The series is different in that it is neither action adventure nor slice of life but a blend of the two. I can't wait for book 4. 5/5*
I like this story, it gets more complex with every installment. The characters are well developed and interesting. The MC is a bit of a shining knight but ultimately that is part of his charm.
The editing is pretty good. Very few errors that I saw. Most were using the wrong name in a few places.
My real issue is with the authors writing. I felt them holding my bloody hand the whole time. 🙄 There is way too much exposition used. There are far too many pages filled with a dissection of the characters thoughts and motivations when their actions alone are explanation enough. Not only does this style limit the readers own imagination but it breaks up the pacing terribly. Show the story and stop telling it.
It's an okay story. The mechanics of the world and system are kind of unique, but there is one thing that annoys me about the world The author doesn't really have a sense of scale when it comes to city sizes. In the first book, the town has like 60 people, yet it took all day to search and the second town has 2000 people, and the author acts like it is a booming metropolis. It takes hours to cross the city. My high school had 2000 people and was not nearly the size that this guy describes. Just a pet peeve.
Glen's new class as SoulSeer must reach level15 to prevent a new calamity from happening .
Glen received his new class after Zack died an Glen lost his class as town guard . Glen must reach level 40 to complete a quest from the gods . First level15 in 9 months or less . As a junior blazer Glen must complete duties as well as level up quickly as possible . Being reunited with his long friend slash girlfriend Becka an friends they set off to help him level to reach his first goal . recommend reading excellent series .
Suddenly harem. The scenes are all fade to black and no explicit content is in the book, but holy cow does it start oversexualizing everything like it were written by an overly enthusiastic teenager who only knows the word thirsty and thinks that everyone should be bumping everyone at all times of the day. The hallmark celibacy/monogamous attitude espoused by the main character for the first two books turns into a lets do everything that moves and all at the same time as soon as the MC's girlfriend says that she has any inclination towards polyamory. This story is not great.
The story of Glenn and Becka’s adventures across the lands of Luxtera continue as they once again clash with Deathcasters and become embroiled in multiple conspiracies.
There are some minor errors in the text of the novel; mostly obviously missing words (usually articles or preposition — which seems to be a particular habit of Mr. Brannigan's), or duplicated words. I'm fairly certain Mr. Brannigan will correct them in the next update of his manuscript.
Another entertaining entry in the Divine Progression series. The writing could benefit from a good editing pass. The author uses obviously incorrect words in a number of cases, and there are a number of minor continuity errors that can be somewhat jarring. But there’s really nothing that ruins the book. Despite the minor flaws, this remains a fun LitRPG series, easy to recommend to fans of the genre.
I am not good with reviews so. I stayed with this to really understand the story line you need the first 2 books. Very interesting I can't wait for the next book and thanks for not describing the sex scenes in detail you did a fantastic job. Don't want to give the spoilers away. Enjoy the books.
I really loved reading this book. It's become my favourite series. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
Yep, Glenn has to get out on his own. Luckily the Blazers take him in and he brings his brand of chaos to their camp. This was another intriguing and fascinating entry in the series. I really do enjoy the worldbuilding of the series, and the characters continued to intrigue me. Looking forward to the next book!
Oh the thirst 💦 is heavy in this 🤭 Glenn really is too trusting... Loved this! Need book four! I think Glenn and Becca just met the scariest adventurer 😬😰 Need more Ripper getting drunk! 🤣
