The Aternien invasion of the Union has begun, but Master Commander Carter Rose is still without a functional warship, or a full crew. He needs both if he’s to stand any chance of thwarting the god king’s plans.

Frustrated by his inability to act, Rose takes matters into his owns hands, and travels to the occupied planet of Terra 6 to find his Master Operator, a key member of his crew, now at grave risk.

But there is far more to the invasion that Rose has been led to believe. The Aterniens have a new bioweapon, and Terra 6 is their testing ground.

However, the thousands of Aternien Immortals laying siege to the planet aren’t Rose’s only problem. The Acolytes of Aternus are looking for him, led by Damien Morrow, a former Master Commander who turned his coat and joined the enemy cause.

Can Rose find his crewman and stop the bioweapon before it’s too late? Once again, the fates of millions rests in his superhuman hands.

Enemy Within is book #2 of the Aternien Wars series, an epic blend of space opera and militaristic sci-fi. Follow an elite crew of augmented officers as they fight a post-human enemy styled on the myths of ancient Egypt.

Honestly? Not that bad, I felt like it was better written than the last one. However, there were still a number of grammatical errors throughout, and the author has yet to give us any idea of the actual scale of the conflict, which for a series about a galactic total war, is pretty important.

As I said, it was an improvement, but not enough to move it up to a 4. Regardless, I am enjoying the story. The interaction between Carter and Carina has really carried this series so far

The basic story premise is still good, and there is plenty of action, even if it is a bit repetitive.

I would consider giving this 4 stars, if there weren’t so many grammatical and editing mistakes. It appears that the author is self-publishing these, but for Pete’s sake, have someone proofread the manuscript before you submit it! For an author that has 30+ books, I would expect better.

Machines or humans?

The title reveals the main essence of this whole series whether the machines should take over or do human being survive. Commander rose and the rest Of the battalions The human race has a chance But it's a slim 1. The author has put together All the humor and all the love that can be expressed between 2 people.

The saga continues in fight against the Aternians

This space saga will appeal to those who like Star Wars and Terminator sagas of humanity and superhuman bioengineered officers fighting against the impossible. The second novel in series maintains the excitement level of the first. I streamed this book thru Kindle Unlimited.

The first book was good enough, but the second started to be boring. The same unnecessary sword fights of superhuman it's not a plot it's absence of the plot. Wasn't able to finish and it's rare situation for me.

Captivating military scifi

Excellent character development and intriguing speculation about technological developments, particularly medical applications to augment human capabilities. The book would benefit from more careful editng.

Loving these books

Love the characters, they’re very well written and very likeable. I can’t believe how gullible and stupid humans have become and I’m beginning to wonder if they deserve to win.

Keeps up the zippy pace of the first book. I am engrossed and moving on to the next book in the series. My only complaint is the spelling and grammatical errors. I know it has something to do with transitioning to Kindle format but irritating nonetheless.

Moves slowly

I like the characters but the story moves slowly. There may be too much detail included in some places in the book. I want to know how the author chooses to complete the story, however I am concerned that the remaining books will move at the same slow pace.

Sequel every bit as good as the first

Great read, non stop action and great dialogue. Scene setting very effective and reading is effortless. Characterization and background very believable. Highly recommended.

It’s an interesting plot, but I found myself wishing he’d try something other than smash through the wall and murder everyone. I suppose it works for him but it’s very repetitive.
