It's November, and the younger siblings of the A to Z Mysteries detectives have a new mystery to solve. ’’The twins' new neighbors are up to something! It's Thanksgiving, and a mysterious couple has moved in next door. Bradley, Brian, Nate, and Lucy must work out the clues: The neighbors have built a tall wooden fence. They've bought some strange parts for making . . . something. They've even put up a suspicious tent in their backyard, with a big, scary dog to guard it. What could they possibly be hiding?

Carter and I are reading this series during the month that it is about. We've read September Sneakers, October Ogre, and November Night, and we're waiting for December to read December Dog. This was another good one, and I like how the chapters end on cliff hangers. They're perfect for an early reader. Carter's in first grade, and I read the "long pages" (without pictures), and he reads the "short pages."

I love these! I wish I had read these when I was a little kid. Of course I was a weird little kid because I was reading Shakespeare at the age of 10 and was way too serious to read a lot of kid books. Maybe that's why I'm reading them now as an adult.
Anyway, I love how these Have a happy ending and there aren't any bad characters. And hey, who wouldn't want grandparents who are willing to build you a space shuttle in their backyard?!

As always, cute story. I mean, it does seem very unlikely that the new neighbors would hide their project under a tarp and get something so big complete in such a short amount of time. Some things you just let slide though 😜

Bradley and Brian used to go next door and play with the other neighborhood kids in a huge hollow tree trunk. But the house was sold, and the new neighbors built a tall wooden fence around the whole yard to keep their big dog in. The kids were all sad that they couldn't play in the tree any more, but Bradley and Brian were even more worried than the others. They had padded the bottom of the hole in the tree trunk with hay, and both boys had left something there. Bradley had left his flashlight inside the tree, and Brian had hidden his savings bank under the hay! How can they ever get their things back? Exciting story for kids aged 7-9.

I previewed this book for my daughter.

Many parents will have serious problems with a book aimed at such young children where the young children sneak out (and premeditated it) and take other age inappropriate risks such as jumping a fence behind which lives a large dog. In addition, they trespass and take other people's property without asking. That's outside of the range of behavior most parents want second and third graders reading about.

The book itself was the sort of writing you find in most early chapter books--neither outstanding nor subpar.

The suspense itself, however, is as tame as you expect from a book aimed at 6-9 yr olds. Nothing too frightening.

I read the original A-Z Mystery stories when I was a little kid and greatly enjoyed them, I had only ever gotten to the Letter T, so I figured this year I would re-read and actually complete the series all this time later, and I was delighted to learn that Ron Roy has continued on the Green Lawn Mysteries and characters, and gone on with Calendar Mysteries and the A-Z Super Mysteries, which I will get to reading later on.

This series of 12 books focuses on the younger relatives of the Main Characters of the original series, and it's charming and fun to see the adventures they all get up to in this fun additional series.

I nice little mystery where everything is not what it seems. There seems to be a lack of parental involvement as our heroes try to find out exactly what the new neighbors are doing under the large tarp to their old tree. As time passes, the children get more and more daring, doing riskier and riskier things (including breaking & entering and trespassing) to learn more. The night before Thanksgiving, they risk an encounter with the big dog in the newly fenced in yard, and get caught! The outcome is alot nicer than they could have hoped for. A good early grades reader.

I haven't read a Ron Roy book in quite some time but had a 2nd grade school visit today and featured this author. After reading a lot of YA fiction, it was a pleasant switch and took me back to days of reading A to Z Mysteries with my own children. It was awesome to see the enthusiasm for and love of reading among the 2nd graders, and these books are such a hit with the classrooms. They weren't as familiar with the Calendar Mysteries as the A to Z Mysteries, so I highlighted "November Night" on my visit...now they all want to read it!!

Brian and Bradley are twin brothers who, along with their friends Lucy and Nate, encounter a Thanksgiving mystery. I appreciated how well treated the children were, even when considering their unlawful activity, which may not be how most new neighbors are used to being introduced. Brian and Bradley were sufficiently different to be believable, and I appreciated that the crux of the story was not about their twinhood.

I like it when Bradley, Brian, and Lucy were all curious about the trap over the tree. And so, one day they decided to have a sleepover. And at the middle of the night they said they were going to see what was in the trap and get their flashlight and money jar back.

The book November night is about when Nate Bradley Brian and Lucy Go next door and see they have money inside a hollow tree. Then they cover it and they bthink its gonna get cut down. I liked the book thats why I rated it a 4

Bradley and Brian have new neighbors. They are building something under a blue tarp that now surrounds the tree that the twins use to play in with their friends Lucy and Nate. So, late one night the kids decide to investigate...and boy were they in for a surprise.

One of the better Calendar Mysteries

Particularly impressed with this mystery and the outcome - this mystery seemed to have a little more suspense than others.

Bradley and Brian have new neighbors and they aren't sure what is happening when the neighbors put up a fence and buying things from the hardware store. As they try to figure out what's happening (and retrieve their belongings from the tree next door), they come up with a variety of plans with the most elaborate being "Operation Brian." They finally discover the secret, even when the plan fails. There are some fun reveals at the end of the mystery that show that the kids' ideas of what was happening were completely different than what was actually going on next door. Another fun mystery in this series.
