In the wake of a tragic accident that claimed the life of Christopher’s girlfriend, the once high-achieving, popular athlete has fallen apart. He’s giving up on school and sports, self-medicating with booze and bong hits, and lashing out at his friends and family members when they try to help him cope. However, given her own turbulent childhood, Kathryn has learned a thing or two about pain, loneliness, and ultimately, survival.

Does Kathryn stand a fighting chance at saving someone who has suchlittle interest in saving himself? Or, as she gives more of her heart to Christopher, will hers be the one that ultimately ends up broken?

I read this is its previous life and it was a story that always stayed with me. I found out that it was a manuscript in swoonreads and I literally paused the book I was reading and read this in pretty much one seating. And I am as moved and touched as the first time. My heart breaks into a thousand little pieces for them. It feels so real, it feels like I am right smacked in the middle of this story and it’s so raw. This author has an ability to put you right there and feel everything the characters are feeling. My heart, my head, my soul hurt. I’m emotionally exhausted like I am Kathryn, like I am Christopher.
This is truly a gift that needs to be shared, this story. Also, the topic of mental illness is so well done and I believe it would be of great help for teenagers and people all over to read this and see they are not alone, that there is some kind of hope they can cling too and that eventually thing do get better, even if it takes a damn long time to get there. That they need to keep trying, that it never stops. That it requires work, every day, but that it is manageable.
I can’t wait to keep reading the next books. I hope they do make it here and out in ebook and paper for the rest of the world. I could not be happier to know that this story it’s taking it steps to finally be out there for everyone else to read. I’ll be here to witness that for sure.

I loved, loved, loved this book and the following 2 books in the trilogy. It's going to stay with me a long time. It was so well written I feel like I "lived" each of the main characters. I look forward to more from this author. I am entering the date I finished the 3rd book in the trilogy.
