Ladies and Gentlemen, The Jewel Theater proudly presents for your reading enjoyment “Things that Go Bump in the Night,” starring Cherry O’Kelly, a burlesque performer whose career was cut short in her prime. A consummate professional, Cherry doesn't let a little thing like death get in the way of a good bump and grind. Enjoy the pageantry while you can because something evil is coming to the theater.
Next up on the haunt parade is the Rosemont Hotel. It is reputed to be fraudulently haunted. Its owner - plagued by bumps in the night - has sought out help and has been turned down by all the reputable ghost hunting teams in the area except for one, PEEPs. Burt has a gut feeling about the hotel. Will Burt’s instincts alone be enough to find out what is really going on at the Rosemont?
Since you’ve been such a good audience, I have another treat in store for you. What do the Caribbean, crypts and courtrooms have in common? The answer is Beverly Cooper. Mia’s aunt has returned and has brought with her… Oops, that would be telling.
Pull up a chair, and open the book. The show is about to start…
“Things that Go Bump in the Night,” is the eighth novel in the “Haunted” series following “Old Bones.”
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
ghosts, an old foe becomes a friend off sorts. betrayal by family, by a prior colleague, love, joy, self sacrifice.. reread in February, 2017...still painful personal betrayals by a family member who sells Mia into bondage away from her fiancee for selfish reasons. still a good story, full of angst, desperastion, misery, rage, forgiveness, pain.
A truly brilliant story line and really fantastic characters! My favorite is Murphy. He's a great companion for Mia. I wish they could have been able to be together. I love this series and will definitely continue with it. I've lost many a nights sleep with this series!!!
So much love to Alexie Aaron and her Haunted series
Each book just keeps getting better And better. I am so in love with most of the characters, especially Mia, Ralph, Murphy, and Ted. Alexie Aaron is one of the greatest writers out there And i look forward to the next book in this series and her Cid series.
I love the way the characters have grown together. I love the suspense, drama, and humor. I buy the next in the series as soon as I finish and have yet to get bored.
To the paranormal than I ever knew! Alexei Aaron expands more and more in each book. This one goes from getting ghosts out of a refurbished burlesque building to being kidnapped by an angel. Once I start reading these i can't stop.
