Owned this book when I was a kid. I liked the colored inserts from the TV show, although I never really saw the episode myself.

I liked this story because it wasn't very boring, and the twist was unexpected at the time.

I was fairly certain, while reading this, that Stine did not write this. I've read over 40 of his books, so I kinda have an idea of his writing style. This didn't match it very much. For one thing, there are exclamation points placed pretentiously. Stine had done that occasionally, but not this way. Also, the way the chapters end did not seem to have the Stine signature, either. Sure, Stine did release some books that I've given bad ratings to, but most of them didn't have too many of the "it's this! Nope, oh, my God! It's that! No, wait. It turned out to be nothing," type of reveals. I was gonna look it up, but I didn't need to. On the title page, it says this was adapted by Francine Hughes. I didn't need to be psychic to know this was not written by Stine.

This is a novelization of the episode called, "Return Of The Mummy." I have the complete series, and there is unfortunately no episode based on the original, "The Curse Of The Mummy's Tomb." The episode has tidbits from the original since the writers of the show skipped over it. Speaking of skipping over something, I've already stated what I think about pictures in the middle of novelizations, so I'm gonna skip adding it.

This episode, and it's novelization, are completely different (as are a lot of the episodes) than it's reason for being. The live-action episode was a little disappointing to say the least. Mostly because the producers chose to, as I said above, skip the first book. I may read more of these because this novelization gets about the same rating as the episode.

3/5.

I really disliked this book. It was too easy to read, the lack of pages, it was easy to guess what was going to happen next, though I enjoyed its "scary" parts
