How Teddy Bears Are Made follows three kids Hannah, Mbizo, and Nick on a tour through a teddy bear factory. The reader gets to see how a teddy bear is created. First, the bear is drawn, if everyone likes it, then a big machine makes several patterns of the drawing on fabric. Once that is done, the arms and legs are sewn on by a machine, and a hole is left in the neck to stuff the bear. Next, the bear is stuffed and the back is sewn together. The three kids then help brush the bear to make it soft and cuddly. Lastly, the teddy bear gets dressed up and shipped to its new home.

I didn't mind this book. I thought it was interesting to see how a bear was made. The pictures really brought this book together though, so the photographer, Ken Heyman did a good job of setting the scene. The writer, Ann Morris made this book very kid friendly and explained things that otherwise would have been confusing.

Overall, I think this book would be a good classroom read. Especially if the class got to tour a teddy bear factory then they could compare and contrast the two factories. Overall, I recommend How Teddy Bears Are Made: A Visit to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.

This book is about how teddy bears are made. It shows 3 kids going to a teddy bear factory and seeing the design of the bear, the hand stuffing that goes into them and even the bear hospital for bears that get torn or ripped.
I enjoyed this book because it shows the behind the scene work that is done to produce just one teddy bear. I never even thought that someone has to design how the bear looks before it is made. It also blew my mind that people hand stuff the milliions of bears sent out world wide.
I think this book would be benficial in my classroom because then my students would see that people actually work to make their stuffed bears. It might even make them treat their stuffed animals a little better because they don't want to have to send their animal to the bear hospital.

Hannah, Mbizo and Nick go to a teddy bear factory in Vermont and learned everything from how the bears are thought up to sewn up and stuffed to dressing them up! They even got to go to the teddy bear hospital!

This book was very interesting. I kind of even enjoyed learning about how they were made. The picture were definitely from the 90s, and my students might not know what the huge computer is, but it was very cool!

I would use this maybe before a field trip to "Build-a-Bear" or even on bring your stuffed animal to school day. It is meant for a younger audience, probably for a kindergarten class.

How cute is this book? I love how it talks about how teddy bears are made! This books shows three different kids getting to go to a teddy bear factory! The got to watch how the teddy bear is hand stuffed! They even go to see the teddy bear hospital where bears go when they get torn or ripped!

I loved this book and found it very interesting! I loved how it went behind the scenes and showed how much work goes into making just one teddy bear!

I would definitely use this book in my classroom library! The pictures are a little outdated but that doesn’t take away from how cute the book is!

This book tells of every step and stitch that goes into creating a Vermont Teddy Bear. This book is fantastic for illustrating step by step processes. This book includes photographs from the factory, as well.
I liked this book. While a little older, it still touches my heart because I still love my teddy bear from when I was younger.
I would read this book in my classrooms. After, I would like to create a classroom project similar to this book, to further illustrate step by step processes.
