"LEAVE THE PAST ALONE...I'M WARNING YOU."

She'll unravel the secrets from the past--even if she has to join forces with her former fiance, cold-case detective Alex Crowne. Working closely together rekindles old feelings, and getting close to Alex puts Grace's heart at risk. Reporter Grace Kincaid shows up at the bridge where there is a possible jumper to find it is the father of a deceased high school friend. The man claims his son did not commit suicide 12 years ago but was murdered. He begs Grace to investigate before falling and almost taking Grace with him. Detective Alex Crowne pulls her to safety and agrees to help her investigate. Soon she is getting threatening calls, being shot at and poisoned. The investigation pulls up more bodies. Too many things were going on and even though these were life threatening it was on to the next almost immediately. The romance and the inspirational aspects were talky. I just felt it was choppy and insincere.

I really enjoyed this read. The story was easy to follow and keep in pace with. I always like ones where they are digging around trying to figure out who the guilty party was. I was able to figure out who was responsible for most of the crimes before it was revealed, however I didn't suspect him to be the same person responsible for Grace's father's injuries. That was a surprise.

Second in the Cold Case File series, secrets and suspense surround the murder of her high-school classmate. Grace sacrifices her own feelings to work with ex-fiancé, a cold case detective, to resolve the murder. Characters are very well defined, likeable men and women who live by Christian principles. Well-worth the read - hastens to a satisfying ending.

I liked the trauma that wound up reuniting Grace and Alex was connected to their high school days. I also appreciated that Alex felt Grace's family looked down on him, and Grace's assurance that her father had changed rang true. The twist of the killer was foreshadowed enough to make sense and still comes as a surprise. It's a formulaic novel, but well-written.

The Cold Case Files series carries on into book 2 of the series. Grace Kincaid and Alex Crowne are reunited in solving a series of mysterious deaths of old school friends. It doesn't take long for Grace and Alex to get into the killer's crosshairs and become the next targets.

A good mystery! It was just annoying how on practically every other page the main character was crying or "had tears in her eyes". I know she went through a lot, but it was really annoying.

Usually it doesn’t take me long to get through a love inspired suspense novel. However, this one was a bit of a let down. It felt at times disconnected and the ending was too abrupt. I enjoyed the characters but felt like I was missing information.

YULETIDE JEOPARDY by Sandra Robbins is part of The Cold Case Files series. I like books about second chances, and this is one of them. In many novels, I can guess who the villain is, but this one took me by surprise. The secret society theme was also very intriguing, as well as all the twists.

The story of Grace's family and particularly of her father was very touching and helped Alex to become a believer... All in all, YULETIDE JEOPARDY is a beautiful Christmas romance.

"The gripping storyline pulls the reader along for a wild ride, while the characters demonstrates that God can bring peace amid chaos. The characters learn that, though jealousy and anger can ruin relationships, anything is possible with God". (RT Book Reviews, rated 4 1/2 stars)

Actually, more like 3 1/2. I like to try to solve the mystery as the story goes on, and dislike it when new facts are added right at the end that makes solving it impossible. In addition, I don't like it when it is always the male rescuing the female. A better than average read, but just so.

TV anchor Grace and cold-case detective Alex investigate the death of a classmate from their high school. Author Sandra Robbins wove these characters' back story and the spiritual thread into a suspenseful story that has me checking my backseat every time I get in the car!
