An excellent book that immortalizes the military career of a brave Vietnam pilot named Frank Elkins. The book is composed of all of the letters Frank had sent home to his wife. Well worth reading if you are interested in a real story to get into. It is not a very lengthy read, however it is powerful.

I found this book in a local used book store for a dollar and read it in a day. I had read the book during an interesting time, the book takes place over the course of the military career of Frank Elkins and is a compilation of letters he had written home to his wife. I mention that the timing of the book being significant because I had read the book during a narrow window that gave me special insight because the specific day that I read the book was the first day of Frank Elkins' last home leave before his final mission. Reading this book 52 years later I feel I was meant to read this honorable man's legacy. Because I read it with such specific timing it gets me thinking about the relativity of time and how its passage is measured.
