I thought this book was rather ho-hum, but it was so long ago, I don't have particulars. It's the only one in the series, I've read, and out of order, so perhaps I shouldn't judge. I probably picked this up at my library store, interested in the locale in upstate New York.
I used to love this series. But after eight books, the sleuth annoys me. So many plot twists are caused by her own bull-headedness. Dare I hope she matures a bit over time?
This was a book my mother gave me. I tried really hard to like it but I felt like it was just trying too hard to be quirky and funny. Did not enjoy at all.
A group of writers checks in to Sarah "Quill" and Meg Quilliams' inn for some quiet creative time but it doesn't last long when their producer is found dead. With the inn's future hanging in the balance Meg and Quill set out to find out who wanted the producer dead. I enjoy this cozy "Hemlock Falls" mystery series, especially now when Quill is trying to figure out whom she loves, if anyone. There's also a great cast of Hemlock Falls characters and this book had a good mystery.
I added this to my nook since I couldn't find a copy to buy or rent from a library near me. Pretty typical of these mysteries which means the newbie in town tends to be the killer, and the angst of Quill tends to annoy me a lot. I have some of the next in the series from my used book store, so I'll soldier on for awhile longer.
