I was born in Wallingford, England and have spent most of my life living in a village outside Windsor. A former pharmacist, former pharmaceutical industry employee I’m now a self-employed medical writer who also loves to write romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero…

I’ve two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to bother buying a card again this year (yes, he does) so the romance in my life is all in my head. Then again, my husband’s unstinting support of my career change goes to prove that love isn't always about hearts and flowers - and heroes can come in many disguises

Iyi sabretti adama :D

Adam gecmisinden utanirken kizin ona gecmisin seni oldugun kisi yaptı, bundan utanma tarzında konuşması cok hostu. *_*

Beni en cok etkileyense; Mitch'in cocuklugunun anlatıldığı bir sahne vardı, Catherine tarafindan evinde nasil bulunduguyla ilgili ciddi ağladım yemin ediyorum boyle sahnelere dayanamiyorum arkadas :'(

Rich and privileged twenty six year old Brianna is bored with her life. She doesn’t need to work as she’s part of the Worthington family, who happen to own a chain of top-notch department stores. However, Brianna has no real interest in working for the family business and she’s fed up of spending her days shopping and her nights partying. Brianna’s Mum is the patron of a charity called Medic SOS, a team who provide medical help to any place in the world struck by a natural disaster. After speaking to her mother and the head of the charity, Margaret, Brianna is struck with an idea. She plans to fly out to where the Medic SOS team are currently based, in South America, tending to victims of a tornado, and experience what the charity does first hand. Brianna thinks the experience will do her good, after all the other real trauma she has witnessed in her life has been on the television. Whilst there may not be a hot shower or herbal tea available, surely this will give Brianna the incentive she’s been looking for to do something worthwhile with her life.

However, Brianna’s trip to South America proves to be more life changing than she ever could have imagined when she meets Medic SOS’s Chief Medical Officer, Mitch McBride. He has no time for ‘spoilt little rich girls’ like Brianna and sees her visit as an indulgent inconvenience to the important work he does. The two couldn’t be more different, but somehow eventually they seem drawn to one another. This surely spells a recipe for disaster? Mitch has worked too hard to get to where he is now to let this ‘Princess’ get close to him and destroy everything. Brianna, however, is just as determined that where Mitch is concerned she’s going to get exactly what she wants… I was really looking forward to reading Do Opposites Attract? I love novels where the two lead characters are polar opposites – and believe me; Brianna and Mitch couldn’t be any more incompatible. Mitch was a bit of a loner, but that seems to be of because of something that’s happened in his past, however you don’t find out what this is until the end of the story (which kept me gripped until the end, I was desperate to find out what Mitch’s secret was.) He’s brash, to-the-point and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. Then there’s Brianna. She may come from a rich family and not know what it feels like to struggle in life, but credit where credit’s due – she is an admirable character. She wants to change, she wants to work and she wants to do something worthwhile with her life. I had visions of her being a complete spoilt brat when I read the synopsis but she wasn’t like that at all and I really liked her. In fact, it was Mitch who made me angry. Yes he’s gorgeous, yes he’s had a very difficult start in life and finds it difficult to get close to people but he really does mess Brianna around and it’s testament to how strong a character she is that she puts up with his behaviour at times. She’s caring and compassionate, yet hugely feisty too. When the two of them are together the chemistry between them is amazing and I loved the banter that they had going on. I desperately wanted them to be together, but the story is in no way predictable and you really can’t tell if things are going to work out for them or not. Can this ‘rough-edged charity worker from the wrong side of the tracks’ really be right for Brianna? Then there’s the small matter of gaining approval from Brianna’s family and friends. It is a privileged world that Mitch feels like he doesn’t belong in and my heart did break for him at times. (I couldn’t stay mad at him for long…) I liked how Brianna’s journey was played out alongside the romance in the story. It’s almost a journey of self discovery for her and she’s far from ignorant about the suffering that goes on in people’s lives, she is just yet to experience the world and discovers that helping others is actually quite rewarding. I loved the setting of Do Opposites Attract? Having a medical side to the story gave it some really interesting aspects and some of the scenes make for thought provoking reading. It made for fascinating reading and I have huge respect for the work that charities like Medic SOS do and it’s really made me think how selfless people can be in their quest to help others. I love Kathryn’s writing. The way Brianna and Mitch’s relationship is played out is electric, there’s absolutely a stack of sexual chemistry between them, but I like the more serious side of their relationship too when Mitch goes all vulnerable! Sadly this doesn’t happen very often though as he is such a restrained person used to hiding his emotions…Sigh. All in all a really enjoyable, enthralling read, with a setting that’s a bit different to the norm. There’s a lot more to this story than just romance…

A gorgeous, sexy story of love overcoming hurdles from the past and the present. First novel I've read by Kathryn Freeman but her description of the main characters Mitch and Brianna were spot on. You could feel the anguish from Mitch's past and the passion in his current life was transparent. He is most definitely a likeable character. Brianna's life is very different to Mitch's but she has battles of her own to endure. I loved the drama of the story of Mitch's work but with the introduction of Brianna into this world, it turned an often dark, difficult time to a brighter one. A sexy, unputdownable read.

I enjoyed this book. Liked how it wasn't just a run of the mill romance book and had a bit of depth to it. Due to this it was quite a long book though so did take me a few days to get through which isn't always great when you want a quick summer read

This book had potential and I liked the bare bones of it but too many things annoyed me.

I found it hard to like Brianna. She had a good heart but I struggled with her immaturity and privileged attitude. She basically thought people were rude for not waiting on her hand and foot. And a few times she literally threw herself onto a bed and sobbed like a Disney Princess. And in the midst of a natural disaster she was the one who was crying and required comforting because she worried people thought she was useless. She did show some positive character traits but there wasn't enough for me.

And I wasn't that fond of her lusting after Mitch in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Given the setting I would have been more comfortable if they'd (mainly Brianna) at least tried to fight their attraction. Especially since the impression we got was that it was only scratching an itch and not for a deeper connection. But nope she had her sights set on Mitch and went in for the kill.

Mitch was rather surly towards Brianna for most of the story. But at least he had an interesting backstory.

There were some sweet moments within the story, but overall I found myself skipping through pages.

This is a modern romance, based on a social and money divide trope. She's a very rich heiress, trying to find some direction in her life and do something useful (even if she doesn't need to work for a living). He's an emergency doctor who used to be in the army and who now works for a charity (something similar to Medecins Sans Frontiers). He comes from a very marginal background and has a huge chip on his shoulder. The attraction/lust is instantaneous, and they need to navigate the social and monetary gap, as well as his traumas and inferiority complex, before they can reach their happy ending.
I have enjoyed other books by this author but I regret to say that I wasn't convinced by this one. In the end (although I doubt this was the author's intention), it seems that the underlying message is that, if a woman is patient enough and let's a guy bed her any time he wants even if he keeps treating her shabbily, in the end he'll come round, fall in love with her and suffer a personality transplant to become a loving husband. I'm all for redemption, but in this case it was excessive.

It was an alright read. I found the part at the medic camp interesting. Also enjoyed seeing Mitch trying to overcome his inner demons and Brianna becoming more grounded. Both characters were likeable, but my favourite characters in this book were the old lady who helped Mitch when he was young and Brianna's dad! Such beautiful and understanding souls!
The chemistry between Mitch and Brianna was ok, but I didn't feel it as strongly as I wanted (maybe because of the 3rd person POV?idk)
The narration wasn't my favourite.Henry's voice was particularly fake and annoying. But altogether the reading wasn't too bad.

Lovely

Such a great story with strong characters and nicely developed plot. If you would like to know if a rich, frivolous, spoilt girl can have anything in common with a bad boy from wrong side of tracks go ahead and read, you will not be disappointed. You might even discover they are not exactly as you would expect them to be.

A rich girl looking for inspiration goes to spend a week with a medical mission in a disaster area in South America. There she meets a doctor who is pretty much her polar opposite, and yet they are attracted to each other. It's a opposites-attract sort of romance. The rich girl is a little irritating in her entitlement, but it's sort of a sweet story anyway.

I felt the characters were annoying and there was little valid reason for their attraction, beyond the physical.
It was the Rom Com trope of frustration leads to chemistry but done poorly. In the classic movies like You’ve Got Mail, there is a contrast between the characters annoying each other and them finding they actually have a lot in common. That was missing here.

Her denilene evet diyen düşüncesiz kadın karakter yok.

Bekleyin derim! :)

It has been a long time since I read a romantic book. They are foreseeable and do not usually catch my attention, but in my search for the bargains in the kindle store, I found a cover that caught my eye:

So I started reading what I thought it would be a painful and boring book, the ideal book to read only a few pages a day. However, the plot is interesting enough in the first pages of the book, that introduce Brianna, the only descendant of a wealthy family, and Mitch, a doctor that seems to become from a very poor family, that we don't know about. Even being so rich that she doesn't have to work, Brianna wants to find a place in the world, and ends up in a medic camp after a natural disaster, where she meets Mitch. And, of course, as this is a romantic book, everyone can imagine what happens.

After this first part, the plot goes to London, where Mitch continues being very rude with Brianna, and you know he has some issue with rich people. This part (which is the central part of the book) is exasperating. Is Brianna really abiding this? Who would do it?

And finally, I guess it's the same in all romantic books, there is a critic accident, someone is about to die and the story behind Mitch is explained. I have to admit that in this last part I was really hooked and ended the last third of book in only one day.

So, all in all, it seems that it is a good romantic book, if a romantic story is what you want.

Rich girl meets poor boy and sparks fly.

I liked Brianna, she was rich, nice and wanted more to life than just attending parties and drinking champagne. But she wanted to do something she enjoyed too and when she gets to see what a charity organization is about then she feels like this she could do.

Mitch, honestly he was pretty much an a-hole at times. And only to her, thanks dude. It was cos oh she is rich, then she must be stupid and a snob. So he did say a few things, and of course she took offense. After a while when he started to apologize she shrugged it off. But I would not have given him that many chances. But then she really wanted him. I guess men just can't handle a woman having more money.

Passion brewing in a disaster zone. Back home, will sparks still fly or not? He does not want a relationship with anyone, and being a former street kid he certainly do not see himself worthy of her. But this is a romance and you know it will work out. All thanks to her never giving up.

In Do Opposites Attract? By Kathryn Freeman, Brianna Worthington has everything, beauty, privilege and a very big trust fund. But even though everything looks perfect on the outside she is missing something. She cannot find the man for her and feels like she is missing something, no matter how much the men in her social circles try they cannot retain her attention for long. She needs a change in her life, so when she is invited to see how her mother’s charity, Medic SOS works, she takes the next flight for South America.

Mitch McBride is the chief medical officer for Medic SOS and has a very busy schedule. So when he is notified that they will have the patron’s daughter come to South America he is not happy, he doesn’t have the time to babysit nor be showing her around when there are people that need his medical expertise. What a wonderful dynamic between Mitch and Brianna. They really are polar opposites. Brianna isn’t as shallow as she first appears, a little out of touch with people who are less fortunate than herself but she is never short of compassion. Brianna's journey through the book is almost a spiritual one as she finds out how rewarding helping other people can be.
Mitch is an irresistible character and I wish he was my Doctor. The chemistry between him and Brianna was just electric and I didn't want the book to end.
Do opposites attract is a funny, heart warming novel that will keep you smiling all day long

For me, this was a more serious read than the cover suggested it would be, but that was good because I thought the author portrayed the characters' emotions and insecurities extremely well. We really get a sense of why Mitch and Brianna act and feel the way they do, and root for things to work out between them. The medical background is very authentic and engaging too - it gives us an insight into Mitch's character and life without ever overshadowing the developing romance. I loved the way both Mitch and Brianna grew during the story. A sizzling, heartfelt romance.

I liked the not so obvious setting/backdrop for some of this story and it sat really well with Mitch’s character. I wasn’t sure how much I would like Brianna at first, but as the story unfolds, you get to know her better and find out there is much more to her than what appears on the surface. Great chemistry between the hero and heroine. It was a really enjoyable read.
