Shana thought going on a job interview was going to be tough, she had no idea it could cost her life. Getting the chance to rescue computer guru Royce Renault's kidnapped niece is the opportunity of a lifetime for Private Investigator wanna be Shana Quinn. Unfortunately, her attraction towards Royce was not part of the job description. Can she solve the case without losing her heart? Shana's out to prove she can do the job as good as any man, but manly is definitely not how Royce sees her. The little spitfire sets off sparks in him the moment he lays eyes on her. When the kidnappers come after her, will she live long enough to show him just how womanly she can be? How can he let her face goons twice her size without wanting to protect her?
Arianna Hart enjoys spending time with her family, reading anything she can get her hands on, and of course writing! She’d love to spend her days on a beach with a drink in one hand and a book in the other, but until she wins the lottery she’ll just have to settle for chasing her girls around the pool.
I'm not sure exactly why I love Arianna Hart's books, but I do. My latest read by her is "Spitfire"; the story of a blue-collar tomboy who falls for a geek. Even though the plot wasn't anything new, and I figured out the 'bad guys' early on...I still had a good time reading about this couple.
Shana is the pint sized daughter of a widowed cop. She's spent her life 'proving' to her Dad and everybody else, that size doesn't necessarily matter. Since she's too short to be a cop, she decides to go into private security and eventually open up her own detective agency. When she saves a 'suit' from an apparent mugging on the way to a job interview, she has no idea that that one act will change her life--and her goals--forever.
Now there were times I wanted to ream Shana a new one! She really put her man Royce through the hoops. I got awfully irritated with that HUGE chip on her shoulder, but when she finally got it I felt all melty...and isn't that the sign of a good read? The hero is a hot geek (and brains ARE sexy), the sex is smoking, and the heroine is a strong female. How can you pass this up?
