CALEB — A THOROUGHLY SEXY SCIENTIST WHO LIKED TO BREAK THE RULES...
Seemingly unaware of his surroundings, Caleb McClintock stepped off the curb — and was yanked out of the path of an oncoming car by a blue-eyed angel! Joy Williams felt his gaze like a force of nature, felt her body respond to the intensity in his eyes as if he'd touched her with fire. Intrigued, unsettled, she succumbed to his offbeat charm, stunned when his casual kisses ignited every nerve ending in her body.
A MAN WHO COULD SHUT OUT ANYTHING — EXCEPT HER
Even though she'd been pretending to be her twin sister as part of a daredevil charade, he'd recognized her, known her when no one could tell them apart. His heated words stole her breath, his husky voice sent shivers up her spine, but once this mystery lover took her with primitive command, could his wickedly sensual experiments show a lady who'd adored variety that one man was all she'd ever need?
Fayrene Preston was born in Texas, USA where she raised. Her high school years were straight out of the movie American Graffiti — good friends and that wonderful rock ‘n' roll. After high school, Fayrene attended college and earned an Associate degree in Business Administration.
Almost immediately afterward the university, she married a Navy man and for the next five years they traveled back and forth across America several times and lived on both coasts. Although the marriage didn't last, she was blessed with two completely wonderful sons, both grown now, and the most beautiful little granddaughter you've ever seen in your life!
She counts herself as very lucky. Books have always been an important part of her life, and now she gets to make her living by writing them. She can't think of anything to make one happier. She published her debut novel as Jaelyn Conlee in 1982, now continued writing as Fayrene Preston.
"There's no doubt about it, Joy. I'm out of my mind over you." -Caleb
*** In The Colors of Joy Fayrene Preston delivers magic, charm and a deep passionate love-story between reincarnated soulmates destined to love each other in every lifetimes. At the start of the story the bubbly Joy Williams rescues the scientist inventor Caleb McClintock from a coming car-from there on sparks fly and they can`t stop thinking about each other.Whereas Joy is afraid to love and hurt Caleb..Caleb in turn feels his soul taken away by her and he stubbornly proves that they are destined for each other.
This tale is so sweet, hilarious and incredibly romantic!!I can`t find words to how lovely i found Joy as a heroine and how deliciously sexy Caleb was as a hero! They make a stunning couple and i loved their conversations, the honesty and the flaming touches of love and desire. That one sex-scene made me BURN!Wow if Caleb knows how to bring pleasure!Just look at that cover!Stunning!I also enjoyed the mystery behind the fake antiques in Joy`s twinsister`s shop and already suspected the culprit from the start.Joy and Caleb are very much memorable together as a couple and both very fascinating characters, will remember their story with fondness!
"The Colors of Joy" is the story of Joy and Caleb.
A local business owner masquerading as her twin meets an eccentric bespectacled inventor, and sparks fly! They experience attraction, have super passionate lovemaking and are confronted with glimpses of possible past lives, all while falling in love..once again.
Likable main characters, loads of chemistry and a sweet ending (hopefully this time around). The secondary plot involving the fake antiques kept me hooked too!
Hero is outside the grocery store eating ice cream with just his dirty fingers and out of nowhere he shoves those fingers into the heroine’s mouth to try the ice cream. 🤢🤮
Do not hesitate to read these older drugstore romance novels. I repeat, they can be really good and fun and memorable! Joy is pretending to be her twin sister, Grace, and is running her antique store for her while she is away. Why? A mystery, duh. But, Joy is doing her very best and keeping everything in check. At the grocery store, she encounters Caleb and saves him from being run over by a car. He recognizes her instantly as Joy, not Grace. But, how can this be? Joy and Grace are identical, and nobody can ever tell them apart… unless…. Caleb and Joy have met before. In a past life…. Perhaps???!?!! (So stupid, but whatever.) Caleb is a scientist - an inventor - but, he apparently is a believer in this past life stuff and uses it to woo Joy. They share extremely hilarious banter, have a really hot sex scene, and even go to an antique auction together. Like, this novel was just really fun. The romance was great and I love Joy and Caleb together because they both have very independent personalities and feel real, but the whole ordeal of Joy pretending to be her sister and our glimpse into the antique flipping world was tops. And not to mention… a mystery regarding these antiques!!! Yes, you heard me right : AN ANTIQUE MYSTERY!!! Ms. Fayrene really just said, “Here. Take it all in this Loveswept installment.” There are some tropes that I didn’t enjoy like Joy being a virgin. (Gag me. Give me an experienced woman already.) And not a trope per se, but the relationship between Caleb and his cousin was weird as hell even though he tried to talk his way through it. I’m sorry, but I’ve never kissed any of my male cousins on the lips and you can’t tell me that’s normal to do even with shared trauma. But all in all, fun! Also, Caleb is highkey a fellow autist. Love to see it.
