In a novel as poignant as it is passionate, Fayrene Preston sends an unlikely couple on an enchanted date with destiny! He'd never expected to find a woman as gutsy as she was graceful, but could this magical creature of velvet and fire whose tenderness utterly tantalized him make a miracle happen in the name of love?
Fayrene Preston was born in Texas, USA where she raised. Her high school years were straight out of the movie American Graffiti — good friends and that wonderful rock ‘n' roll. After high school, Fayrene attended college and earned an Associate degree in Business Administration.
Almost immediately afterward the university, she married a Navy man and for the next five years they traveled back and forth across America several times and lived on both coasts. Although the marriage didn't last, she was blessed with two completely wonderful sons, both grown now, and the most beautiful little granddaughter you've ever seen in your life!
She counts herself as very lucky. Books have always been an important part of her life, and now she gets to make her living by writing them. She can't think of anything to make one happier. She published her debut novel as Jaelyn Conlee in 1982, now continued writing as Fayrene Preston.

When Nathan starts yearning for a future, Dani lies and breaks up with him..until she finds herself bearing fruits of a miracle! Will Nathan forgive her? Will they end up together?
Very sweet and sexy love story with likable characters with extreme chemistry and magnetism. Their lovemaking is hot, angst is heartbreaking, and if the ending was not rushed- I would have rated it higher.
I lost interest halfway through once the impending misunderstanding finally happened.
The initial concept was interesting though. What would happen if a random kiss turned into something more? But a few things didn't work for me.
Danielle (or Dani) our heroine was a very straight-laced ballerina, and she came off to me as kind of uptight and stuffy. She always stands up straight, sleeps perfectly, has impeccable manners, and a strong independent nature. None of these things made her very relatable.
The tragic backstory she has is what sets up the midway issue with Nathan, our hero. And it's irritating how easy it would have been for her to say; "Hey listen, I'm scared by how fast this is happening. I'm falling for you but I'm afraid I won't be able to give you what you want." Instead, she invents a vague way to break up with him which leads to chapters of time passing and awkward encounters. All of which are her fault. This is where I started skimming big time, and decided I didn't care how it resolved.
A few other random things that bothered me was an inconsistency in one of the conversations she had with Nathan. In one sentence she mentioned the loss of her baby, and then in the next paragraph her internal thoughts are "she wouldn't mention the loss of her baby". Ummm, I'm pretty sure you just did?
The other random thing that had me scratching my chin; she's invited over to Nathan's very upscale apartment for dinner. Afterward, he was washing the dishes while she waited in the dining room, and she was feeling blue because she was trying to break up with him instead of just telling him what I mentioned above. And when she's blue, she wants to dance. So, she decides the best place to dance in his pricey apartment is on top of his dining room table...🤔 Ummm, I'm sorry? Putting your feet on the table seems the height of rudeness to me.
In any case, DNFed around page 150 when I started scanning and finding the resolution was far off. Blah 🙄😫
