This book is exactly what the title says. It contains 365 different tarot spreads, each one assigned to a particular date, from January 1 through December 31 (including February 29). At first I was a little surprised that they were assigned to specific dates, but once I realized the depth and care taken for each choice, it all made sense.

Each spread is chosen specifically for its date, based on various historical events, holidays, traditions, and more. What I love about it is that it’s clear how much care and thought went into each choice. Every day not only has a spread, but a description of the spread and why it is meaningful for that particular day, along with a quote, and a tarot card whose meaning goes well with the given theme for that day.

I was shocked by the variety of spreads available in this book, even though I knew there were going to be over 350 of them! There are spreads to cover just about any base one could think of:

- Astrological signs, Planets, Tarot suits, and the Major Arcana
- Relationships (Happy Marriage, Find Best Partner, Sibling Issues, Divorce)
- Pop Culture (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Mary Poppins, Lovecraft)
- Health (Diet, Exercise, Healthy Eating, etc.)
- Interesting Phenomena (Synesthesia, etc.)
- Career (Unhappiness at Work, Should I Take/Quit This Job?, Advancement)
- Esoteric (Six Realms, What Does Tarot Mean to Me?, Your Personal Symbol)
- Holidays (Mother’s Day, Int’l Women’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, etc.)
- Financial (Investment, Starting a Business, Contracts/Legal Documents)
- Decision Making (Root of the Problem, Moving, Should I or Shouldn’t I)
- Psychology (Freudian, Jungian, Jungian Archetypes, Dreams)
- Pets (Dog, Cat, Pets)
- Fairy Tales (Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Little Mermaid)

And trust me when I say that there are even more! I really love that this book basically serves as a master list for any kind of tarot spread I could want. If I were feeling ambitious (and I do, occasionally) I would try to work my way through this book, doing the designated spread for every single day. In fact, I had seriously considered doing this for about a month or so before writing and posting my review. But, the thing is, though many of these spreads are fun themes that one could use anytime, many of them are also rather situation-specific. I can’t really do a spread about divorce if I’m not … you know… in that situation? So, I decided against that plan.

But I did try out a few spreads from the book and all of them were excellent.

I loved this book, and I’m so glad that I got the chance to try it out early. You can be assured that it’s on my wishlist, and I will be recommending it to every tarot reader I know!

It certainly was a book on 365 tarot spreads but they weren't quite my style. If you are looking for superficial readings with no ethical boundaries (like third party readings), this will be good for you. But if you're looking to empower people, give them tools for what's coming, or want something that will shed a deeper light on someone's questions, these spreads aren't for you. Though finding 365 earth shattering spreads would be tough, I felt like the spreads were more for teenage girls than grown-ups searching to actively better their lives. Seemed more like a party trick book than serious tarot spreads, which is great if that's what you're looking for, but I was not.

In her introduction, Graham tells us that after a bit of searching, she noticed that there were “a plethora of 365 books” on every subject imaginable – except Tarot.

I am familiar with several of these types of “365 books,” and I am truly delighted with what Graham has done to apply this format to Tarot reading. The concept is brilliant. The choices of occasions or events for each day are excellent. The information provided for each occasion or event is fascinating. Let’s see… what else? Oh, yes, you get 365 spreads that cover every subject imaginable, from Animals to Cinema to Finance and Legal Matters to Love and Romance to Self-Knowledge and Personal Growth to Work and Career. And the Index in the back gives you a way to look up a topic on which you’d like to do a reading.

Each page has the calendar date, title of the spread, On This Day, Summation of Spread, and Cast Your Cards, which consists of positional definitions and the spread layout. For each day we also have a sidebar that contains “fun facts” or tidbits of information, along with a black-and-white image of a Tarot card from the Universal Tarot by R. DeAngelis (Lo Scarabeo), with a few words about that card.

The spreads Sasha Graham provides for each day of the week are not just random spreads. Each one relates to a specific event, holiday, or occasion that occurred on the date in question. For example, February 7 is the date when the tale of Pinocchio was released in 1940. The spread presented for that day is called Pinocchio’s Truthfulness Spread. Positional definitions “regard all areas of truthfulness in our lives.” The sidebar lists signs that indicate when a person might be lying, such as nose twitching, mouth covering, fidgeting, and tense lips. The Tarot card is the King of Cups, which is “connected to lying, fabrication, and tall tales.”

This is just a splendid book all around. Well done, Sasha Graham!

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be reviewing 365 Tarot Spreads by Sasha Graham. Special thanks to Llewellyn Publications via Netgalley for letting me read/review this early!

The cover is nice, as it shows some tarot cards, I like the simplicity - although you can't really say that tarot cards are simple as they are so complex, each and every card has a special meaning and message.

I really loved the layout of the book. This goes through a different tarot spread for each day of the year. It's jam-packed with lots of information on what happened historically, religiously etc of every day. There's a lot of information that is neat to know, but I never knew! There are lots of spreads that are brand new. There are ones that are familiar to readers, variations on crosses and things like that, but there are some cool new ones that I can't wait to look at. The ARC of this didn't show all the spreads, it only gave a smattering of them, but I'm sure each and every day is new and exciting.

I'm very impressed with this book, and I'll likely be buying it when it becomes available. I don't feel that I'm at a professional level when it comes to reading tarot cards, but with this book I'm convinced that even the novice will progress quite beautifully since this book allows a daily practice to be conducted without it getting boring or repetitive.

I recommend this for anyone who has a love for Tarot, or anyone that wishes to become a more advanced reader.

DNF

I made it from January through April.

This book would be good for: people who are only just learning about tarot.

I would consider myself an intermediate (???) reader and I quickly grew tired of all the weird/random “on this day” spreads that almost never had anything to do with where I personally wanted insight. Very very heavy on the love and romance “does he like me back” kind of spreads, IMO. And it was equally ineffective for me to look up spreads in the index that might align more with what I wanted to know because most of them seemed more geared toward teens than a 43YO.

I have been reading this (or: doing spreads from this) for quite a while since I got this for Christmas in 2017, occasionally doing a spread here and another there. Now I think I've gone through all the spreads I think I'd like to do.

There are some quite useful spreads in the book, but most of the spreads are geared towards specific situations and if you're not in that situation... too bad, that spread's useless for you.

Overall, a book I really liked. It is what the title says: a collection of 365 spreads to use with Tarot, or oracle cards if you prefer, one for every day of the year. You do not have to use them on a specific day, and you can certainly browse at your leisure. A nice basic addition to a Tarot/cartomancy shelf, especially for beginners.

365 days completed - i will definitely keep the book. i only liked a few of the spreads tho so that's a bummer. quite a few of the questions are great standalone questions and there were quite a few helpful observations on the cards in the book. this is a solid book for those who wish to switch up their spreads and expand their knowledge!

All the spreads appearcto be 7 cards or higher, so busy person friendly in my opinion. The one I received directly from Llewellyn has printing errors where the page runs into the next spreadcas well. Maybe 365 spreads, but not for daily use in my world.

Purchased from the Kindle store and the spreads have errors. Missing additional card(s) from the known spreads. Overall, not satisfied and returned for a refund.

Some good spreads in here, but a LOT, as in WAY TOO MANY stupid ones... A cool book to have on the shelf, but only a decent resource.

This is a book could quite easily be a calamity!

There have been similar publications containing collections of Tarot spreads but these have turned out to be pretty thin on content and somewhat tenuous affairs.

Being presented with a book of no fewer than 365 Tarot card spreads left me suspecting that ploughing through them was going to be a time-consuming, tedious and torturous
affair!

However, it soon became clear that this book has more to offer than just a collection of Tarot spreads. For a start, the layout of the book's content is attractive, fluid and engaging. Each spread is presented in a clear and easily digestable way. The illustrations break up what ordinarily might be an overwhelming amount of textual information.

The insights into each day of the year are a powerful grounding reference-point for each spread. Some of the subjects are humorous. Some are sobering. And others are just darn-right eclectic. All of them add to a book that is a great deal of fun and encourages you to turn the page for the next nugget of insight.

As for the quality of the spreads themselves? Well, this could have been the book's downfall. Instead, they are its strongest feature.

None of the 365 spreads are overly complex. However, the questions that have been formulated for each of them are intelligent, incisive and insightful.

From the simplest insights through to the most challenging enquiries, the way that they are formed gives you the ability to break down any issue into more manageable chunks.

All in all, this is a colorful book with much more to offer a Tarot card reader than its rather simplistic title first suggests. In fact, '365 Tarot Spreads' is a wonderfully crafted publication.

This kaleidoscopic collection of metaphysical insights makes it a must-have acquisition. Due to its value as a manual of instruction and a commentary on the modern Tarot, 365 Tarot Spreads should be on every Tarot enthusiast's bookshelf.

Disclaimer: I received an eARC from netgalley in exchange for a review.

Sasha Graham’s 365 Tarot Spreads is an interesting study in creating tarot spreads. She wrote the book to fill the gap that appeared on bookshelves, noticing that there was no “daily tarot spread” book out there. Each spread in this book, then, was created by her (or some other notable tarot alums) for practitioners to use on a daily basis. Many of the spreads were created based on: historical information, pagan or astrological date info, or literary and pop cultural reference.

What I liked: This book should be a quick read. Graham includes a wide variety of spreads and topics to fit any request. Readers could use it as a tarot-a-day study guide or just flip through the pages until a spread they need pops up. As one who loves designing spreads for her own uses, I looked at this book as a way to see the wide variety of spreads that a single person (in this case, Sasha) could create. It’s a highly creative volume of spreads.

What I didn’t like: This book took me forever to read. The layout includes so much side-bar information that it’s a bit overwhelming and cluttered. After the book came out and I purchased the epub file, I found the file horribly designed. The spread layout images were tiny and the formatters attempted to design to the print layout, rather than to the device. Ugh. It really made reading the book on a device harder than it should have been.

Bottom Line: Love tarot spreads? Then add 365 Tarot Spreads to your collection. I’ve flagged many of the spreads that I’m sure I’ll look back to over and over again for my own use. I also recommend that you buy the print version of the book (yes, it’s huge and heavy) and skip the eBook due to the layout issues. Other than that… it’s a great resource for any tarot library.

excellent book that offers up a mix of different tarots spreads covering everything from love to money to zodiac and holidays. there are interesting little facts and tidbits for each day which are just as interesting as the spreads. only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that all spreads are 5+ cards and most are 10-12 cards long.

While I like the idea of this book - and it was good to keep in practice - I found that some of the readings just didn't have significance for this stage in my life.

Perhaps for someone younger who is still searching for many things. I may gift it to someone like that.
