Perinpohjainen, joskin tässä vaiheessa jo hieman vanhentunut selvitys Turkin kursikysymyksestä ja maan EU-jäsenyystilanteesta. Kursien ahdinkoa tuodaan esiin juurta jaksain, eikä PKK:n roolia konfliktissa suurennella tai vähätellä. Kirjoittaja tuppaa toistelemaan itseään, mutta tyyli kirjassa on muuten selkeä.
