"M Todd Gallowglas is the real deal." - Brandon Sanderson
While Julianna and her followers race to reach Koma City to find the heirs to the Komati throne before Carmine D'Mario can sacrifice them to satisfy his bargain with a Daemyn, Xander Rosha and Damian Adryck struggle to find out what roles they play in Kingdom politics. They both seek answers to why so many High Bloods and Adepts, including some of the most powerful men in the Kingdom of the Sun, show such interest in them.
Within the downtrodden islands of the Warrens, one of the poorest sections of Koma City, those who were born to re-shape Koma's future will come together, and Xander and Damian's questions will be answered, for good or for ill.
As always, the gods watch, plot, and scheme for power.
Readers who enjoy losing themselves in complex worlds such as Robert Jordan's THE WHEEL OF TIME, George RR Martin's A GAME OF THRONES, and Steven Erikson's THE MALAZAN BOOK OF THE FALLEN will find themselves right at home with the TEARS OF RAGE sequence.
M Todd Gallowglas has been a professional storyteller at Renaissance Faires and Medieval Festivals for over twenty years. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University in 2009, he used his storytelling show as a platform to launch his fiction career. He is the author of the Tears of Rage and Halloween Jack series, which have spent time on various bestseller lists. He was a fiction contributor for Fantasy Flight Games and developed creative content for the reboot of the children's classic Reading Rainbow. Now he spends most of his time trying to find the perfect balance between family, writing, airsoft (because it's not as messy as paintball), and gaming while he's not off somewhere telling stories.

The tides of fate are turning, and Julianna Taraen is no longer on the run. With her leadership of the Morighanti established and her ragtag band finally out of harm's way, Julianna can afford to bring the battle to the enemy—and boy, does she ever! Nor is she the only one. In this latest installment of the Tears of Rage series, a host of your favorite characters come into their power and go on the offensive in a big way, climaxing in a battle of apocalyptic proportions. This is the one we've all been waiting for, folks. It marks the maturation of this author, this series, and these characters into the sort of epic high fantasy goodness nerds drool over late into the night.
The novel does have minor flaws. There's relatively little refresher material at the beginning, so it's a bit difficult to jump back into the storyline if it's been a while since you read the previous book. There are also a number of typos, though I have to say that this installment was much, much better edited than the previous one in the series. The book was quite lengthy and dragged on unnecessarily in a few places. There were a few questions the author raised but seemed to forget to answer. But these are quite small, mostly stylistic quibbles. At the end of the day, all that really matters is that this is a great story told very well. I very much look forward to the next installment in the series!
