Prepare to be scared Ash's adventures have bordered on the ridiculous and absurd, but the series takes a grave turn to the dark side as he is forced to confront one of the original locales of deep Kandarian dominance. Traveling to the old cabin, Ash must destroy the anchor holding the spirit in the woods to this dimension if he wants to claim the prize... a chance to save the soul of his lost maiden. Something evil is lurking in the fruit cellar... and it wants to tear your soul apart
Obnoxious. Not only does it completely fail to capture the feel and humor of the source material, the story is basically a rehash of what we've already seen a million times before. Back to the cabin in the woods yet again? Are you freaking kidding me?
In this book Ash goes back to the cabin, again. This is what, the third time now? There's fighting the same sort of stuff he fought before. Honestly, it all felt really done to death at this point. I give that whole sequence one star. And then after that, there are a bunch of short stories. Those are a little mixed, but basically fun. More variety, more things happening, and less getting bogged down in magic talk. Those I rate three stars. So it averages out to two stars. So if you want to enjoy yourself reading this, you could just skip the whole cabin part and get to the Tales of Army of Darkness part. Those are way better.
Some of the stories were better than others. An average bit of writing. If you like horror and Army of Darkness, you might be amused, like I was. Amused is all though. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone under 16/17 years.
