This book is full of details about how your brain chemistry affects our moods and behaviors. It also is a practical guide to how the food we eat and our behaviors affect our brain chemistry. It provides a relatively easy understanding of different types and will likely trigger some insight into why you do what you do and how you can modify to be in the best state for performance.

What I liked about this book was not just the personal insight and awareness it has given me but also suggestions on how to modify as needed/desired. Some of the struggles I’ve had in the past to change my habits are explained in such a way that it allows me to have a little more grace for myself and a new path to try. Will it solve everything? No. And I’m a little skeptical about some of the groupings and associations he makes in personality types but it is a good working model to use.

This is a great book, it will give you a neat understanding of how your brain and body interacts with your daily habits and consumptions. The main topic of this book is the way neurotransmitters function and how you are able to control your serotonin and dopamine levels by following nutrition, exercise and sleep guidelines. From this book you should be able to take control of your energy levels, moods and performance.

Although it is very accurate and informational book, one should take into consideration that it is written by a Doctor. For this reason it will be a very textbook, scientific type of book for which you should take notes, highlight and maybe read more than once.

I will say that even though it is not an very exciting book, it can definitely be a life changing and mind blowing book.
