The Oldest Obsession
THE OLDEST OBSESSION
Chloe Olivier, successful artist and dreamer of deep-sea dreams, is painting the exquisite Arden Court when Luke Cavendish, charismatic romantic, walks into her life and makes up the half of her soul she never knew was missing. Though each is happily married, they cannot resist the attraction they feel for one another, and fall madly in love.
Although they conduct their affair with insane discretion - as trespassers in the bedroom of an unoccupied country house - they can't prevent it affecting the lives of the people they love: Dinah, Luke's wife and Chloe's best friend; the gentle Alain, her husband and their bright and wayward children.
The grand passion seems doomed to destroy or be destroyed. Split in two by her love for her adorable husband and her obsessive longing for Luke, Chloe has to reconcile the unhappy clash between the realities of her life and the needs of her dreams.
