Guardian Redeemed

Rate this book
Heaven Mistrusts Him. Demons Fear Him. Only One Woman Will Love Him.
Kaiden, a Security Guardian in Archangel Michael's army has never really been accepted-he's always on the outside looking in and he prefers it that way. Channeling his rage and injustice at life (and afterlife), he and his team ruthlessly track down demons on Earth and annihilate them from existence. When he learns that Zarok, a demon he sent back to Hell three hundred years ago has resurfaced, Kaiden vows to vanquish the demon for good. His mission becomes complicated when a beautiful human soldier witnesses a massacre by Zarok and gains the demon's attention.

Miranda "Randi" Elon, a wounded war veteran, returns home from Iraq only to watch a deranged killer slay her two physical therapists while she stands trapped in the shadows. No sooner has the murderer left when Kaiden shows up with his exotic good looks and bullying demands. She has to decide if she can trust Kaiden to protect her or listen to the voice in her head telling her he's more than what he seems.

Kaiden must figure out how to keep the existence of Guardians and demons a secret while also trying to contain his attraction for her because relationships between Guardians and humans are forbidden. But when Zarok targets Randi as his next victim, is his willingness to break every rule enough to save her in time?

Rehabilitation is a slow and painful process, although Miranda "Randi" Elon is nothing if not tenacious. She may have ended her career in the Army after a couple of bullets to the shoulder, but what did not kill her will make her stronger.

Mixing it up with humans is something Kaiden avoids whenever possible, knowing for a fact he pushes boundaries way too often as it is. His team of Guardians, as well as anyone else in Heaven's army, has to abide a strict set of rules, even when dealing with the worst demons Hell has to offer.

Even on a good day physical therapy is never fun. Only Randi is pretty sure this day will go down as the worst ever if she lives long enough to remember it. She escapes a psycho killer only to find herself in the hands of the most dangerously beautiful man she could ever envision. Right from the start Kaiden and Randi lock horns and trade insults, while both know deep down that something magical is happening. Their bond does not go unnoticed as an ancient demon lays in wait to bring Kaiden down utterly thrilled to have just found this most exquisite piece of bait.

If you are looking for those sweet tempered angelic creatures with halos and wings keep searching. Kaiden and his band of cohorts may be Heaven sent, but there is nothing soft and delicate about them. Randi is right on target when she meets Kaiden toe to toe, because nothing is sexier than seeing these two spar and watching Kaiden finally get as good as he gives. DePaul sets a spectacular scene, and fills it full of love, lust, and a whole lot of wicked warriors.

Ok, confession time. I don't read romances, EVER. I'm a cynic. If I do read a romance, it's not going to have angels and demons as characters, EVER. I find those types of paranormal romances tend to go counter to my theological views. HOWEVER, this book completely ignores my likes and dislikes and is a phenomenally well written book, no apologies.
Yes, the theology in the book doesn't mesh with mine, I highly doubt angels curse at ALL, let alone with the frequency and intensity the angels in this book do, however it's so well written, so tight, I can't complain.
I think what made this book seems so amazing to me is that I attempted to read two horrendously pretentious books that were written so loosely, I suspect they had been sold on the street for decades, before this book. One of those poorly written books won a Pultizer. This book beats it hands down.
This book is tight, the characters flawed and real, the scenes not over written, but enough given for the reader to see it as a movie in their head.
Disclaimer: the author is doing a signing at my store. I received a copy of this book for review in anticipation of the signing. I'm giving this an honest review, which was not asked for by the writer. Four stars, as I can't agree with the theology, but it's incredibly well written and if you like paranormal romances, especially ones with angels, you'll love this one!

Ok, went back and realized my four stars based off of my religious views was unfair. Five stars, keeper and one I may not loan to any one!

OMG!!! That was awesome! This is one of the best books I've read all year. I feel guilty that I got it for free. It was funny, which I love. It had a lot of action, which I love. It had just the right amount of sex, which I love. Some of the descriptions were gruesome. I had to remind myself it was just a book. I loved it. I need to read more from this author.

I first read this book 2 years ago and I'd been thinking about reading it again but I couldn't remember the title. Good ole Facebook sent me a notification about the review I did on this book and I didn't hesitate to read it again. Since I hadn't read it in so long it was like I was reading for the first. I love, love, love this story.

I just finished it again 9/27/20. Amazing story!!!

Wow-what a ride! This story is full of action, adventure and romance. Kaiden is a Guardian in an Archangel army. Randi is a war Veteran. Put the two together, along with an evil demon, and you have a story that is hard to put down. I definitely recommend this novel for anyone who likes fantasy, paranormal, and romance. You won't be disappointed.

There are no words to explain how awesome this book is. At the beginning I was a bit 'not so sure' about this book. But, as I began to read it, I noticed this was going to be one of the best books I ever read. I would recommend this book to anyone who has the love for the written word.

Well at least it was until Randi witnessed the death of two of her therapists. Who knew you could grow body parts once they were hatched off. Was she really seeing what she thought she did? Or was she having illusions from the drugs she was taking for the gun shots she had received in Iraq? Randi had returned home to live a normal life after spending nearly ten years in the army. Who knew normal for her home town had been redefined while she was away. Scared stupid after witnessing what she had she got home only hours later to return back to the center to reaffirm what she had seen and call for help. Kaiden was tired of going after little guppy demons for sport. He figured it was his punishment for yet another thing he had done to piss somebody off. Then he is told to go to the rehabilitation center. Zarok is back. Kaiden had sent Zarok to hell over three hundred years ago instead of the forever pit by mistake and now Zarok was back to torment him. While he and his team is there, the one and only witness returns to the scene. How stupid can she be to return and be threatened by Zarok? And how lucky can he be that he did not have to go looking for her and now he had to keep her beside him in order to protect her. Then all hell breaks lose. That is in his pants and in his heart. Emotions long gone are now surfacing. God he wanted to punch her one minute and sleep with her the next. Spitfire, that's what he named this woman who apparently will be both his savior and his destroyer. Can you say soul mate and multiple orgasms?

Excellent Story

This is the first time I've read a book by this author and I was hooked from beginning to end. The story has passion, humor and action. Kaiden and Randi are made for each other. I hope this is a series and the next story comes out soon Kaidens' people deserve their own stories.
