As the Oracle Fusion Middleware Practice Lead for Mythics, Inc. (Oracles largest NA partner), I read a lot of material related to SOA and specifically the Oracle SOA products and I must say that Oracle Soa Governance 11g Implementation by Luis Augusto Weir is by far one of the best books I've read on SOA, much less SOA Governance. The authors do an excellent job of laying the foundation for understanding the people and process aspects of SOA Governance and then how to effectively support those people and process components using the Oracle SOA Governance technology suite (Oracle Enterprise Repository and Service Registry). The book covers the theoretical then enforces the points by walking through very realistic use cases following a fictitious company through the analysis and implementation process. The book provides very practical guidance for implementing design time and runtime governance and detailed technical instructions for setting up and configuring the Oracle tools. This book is a must read for any organization implementing SOA governance or considering it - no matter what maturity level.
