i really did enjoy this book, in fact the all 3 books i liked. they were action packed, with some romance and whats gonna happen next.
Spoiler Alert!:
some things i didnt like was it seemed like everytime there was a fight it started because they decided to take a walk or run in the woods. HELLO! if there is a killer/enemy wanting to find and kill you do you really think its best to be meandering through the woods? i liked the ending. eli and roger got what they deserved. i think the ending was the most heartbreaking to see how many side/important characters you grow to love and hate die in the end. i really wasnt expecting that. My mouth dropped when i found out violet had died and how ilene died. i think she also got what she deserved but at the same time my heart shattered when alanna pulled her hand off of her. even if ilene went physco for attention and love that was hard way to go. throught this book you do see quinten mature into a man. in the first book he was your basic teen but in this book he will do anything and everythin to protect alanna and fight for whay he thinks is right. overall this is a great book and you wont be disappointed!
I loved how much Alanna and Quinten have grown since the first book! We actually see them grow from teenager to adult emotionally doing everything they possibly can to protect each other and their unborn children. I loved the final battle between Alana and Ilene. It was so emotional and intense. That every final battle dealing with Roger and Eli was so intense I couldn't put the book down! It was such a good battle.
The one thing I am slightly upset by is that we didn't get much information on the twins like what they'll become and such.
But over all this series is wonderful and Id totally recommend it!
What was Samantha Hoffman THINKING? She ended the trilogy without ever giving us insight into what the twins were capable of. BOOOOO. If I would have known it would end like that, I wouldnt have stuck it out to be honest. It was such a twilight rip off in every single way.
AWWW!! I loved this trilogy sooo much! I'm going to miss Alanna and Quentin. Also Ray, Jax, Jenna and Darren. This book had everything and kept me up most of the night just so I could finish it. I'm sad it's over but I can't wait to see what else Samantha Hoffman brings us next.
The first half of this book was probably a 2.5 or 3, but I liked the second half and the ending enough to bump it up to a 4. I really felt like this book wasn't edited as well as the first two and there were a number of typos and grammatical errors that made me wince. In addition I quickly got tired of every character using "gonna" and "wanna" instead of "going to" or "want to." It did fit in Alanna's speech pattern (though it was a bit overused), but having her father and other characters say the same grated on me.
For the story, like I said above, the first half or so I found dragged a bit. It was a little too Breaking Dawn-ish for me (and I like Breaking Dawn - it just felt very derivative). I also got tired of Alanna and Ray just talking about how much they felt they were bad people. I understand insecurities; I don't need to be bludgeoned with them as a reader. HOWEVER, once the action got moving I felt sucked back into the story. I appreciated
It was an interesting series and overall I was glad I read it.
Alanna and Quinten are preparing for the fight of their lives, and also preparing to be parents. They are ready to fight 1,000 of people, and not read to taken care of 2 babies. They have been gathering a team to fight against Roger and his small army. Everyone thinks these babies being born will stop the war, but Alanna still has her doubts. After getting their team together they practice for the fight of their lives. Are they ready for what is coming to them? Read Consumed by War to find out!
When I finished this book I didn't want it to end it was so powerful and emotional. Alanna has so many people who love her, like when her Dad's friends want to help. She also getting closer Jenna. She may not be used to having all the side affects of pregnancy, but she is ready to attempt to stop this terrible war. She may not ready to be a mother, but you can tell she is perfectly fit to be a loving caring mother. Quinten is not ready either, he realizes that he thinks he is not fit to be a father, but he is. Want to se if they really are ready or not? Read this book and you'll be suprised!
This wasn’t my favorite book of the trilogy, but it was still pretty awesome. I love how everything got wrapped up, and I loved how much action and death there was in this book. I was surprised at some of the characters who got killed off, and I felt like those deaths made the book a little more realistic. I thought the ending could have been a little better, but it was still pretty good and I’m glad at how things worked out. One scene in particular really stood out with me, and it was the scene where Alanna confronts her sister, Ilene. That was beautifully written, and I could feel Alanna’s pain.
This was a good way to end the trilogy, but I think it could have been ended just a little better. The babies don't get much of an explanation, so we're kind of in the dark about their powers. It would have been nice to know what they were fighting for. But I was glad there were some happily ever afters and some losses. Definitely worth a read.
I was pretty disappointed in this book. I was so excited to find out all the answers to questions I had. The ending was so short and it seemed rushed. We never got to meet the babies or see the two species reaction to them. It cut right to the end with little fanfare. I would have loved to see her draw the conclusion of the story out. Oh well. I won't lose to much sleep over it.
I initially really enjoyed the series. The second book left a bad taste in my mouth. However, this one was nothing but a pity party. I felt that there was so much more that could have been accomplished if the book would have been less centered on how bad Allana felt about people dying over her babies and what was right and wrong.
