"In Labor, Bui struggles with the very basic issues of bringing life into the world during a delivery that does not seem to be going as planned. Should she induce labor and have an epidural and succumb to the doctors wishes for many seemingly invasive procedures or try to wait it out? Bui’s writing presents the stress and lack of control with a honest and personal style."

Labor -- the life experience of many -- ends up being such an in your body/head thing…time goes out the window…it is wild. I have left this for too long without adding my review, but I recall connecting with this graphic memoir on that level -- the capturing of the in-your-headness that feels so isolating, but can't be any other way for someone going through the experience of pregnancy and birth. I also recall some good connecting with family memories. Worthy of a second look/re-read. Recommended to check out, particularly if you have had a pregnancy and given birth.
