I have been writing genre erotic romance since 1998. My love is science fiction mixed with erotic romance or just plain sweet romance. But I write mostly historical erotic romance, because well, ... that is what sells : )

3 1/2 CHEATING STARS

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

If you are searching for a cute - heartwarming story which reads quickly, then this book is for you.  The story is told from both POV and is easy to navigate through Nia and Jack's story.

This book opens up with Nia being confronted by a "Cheaters" reality show in which her husband has been caught cheating after Jack called them to investigate his wife.

Nia and Jack are thrown together to catch their spouses cheating and that is exactly what happens (doggie-style).  When faced with the aftermath, Nia is thrown out of her house penniless in which Jack swoops in to save the day.  Once the cheaters find out what is going on with Nia and Jack all hell breaks loose and......

Well, you'll just have to pick up the book to find out what happens next.

THIS WAS GIVEN TO ME AS AN ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW BY NETGALLEY.

Well, this is a short story to start. Two couples are torn apart by cheating that is exposed by a reality television show. The two spouses being cheated on bond and fall in love.
Because this is such a short story it is inevitable that this is going to be a story of insta-love. I kinda hate that because we really dont get any real background about either character. If you are looking for a few hot sex scenes and not much of an indepth story then you just might enjoy this short read.

Just A Couple Ex's Exposed. A Small Town Romance. S. Anders.

Arc supplied via Netgalley.
Read the sample, enjoyed the premise so requested this book. Sadly I wish I hadn't. I like S.Anders writing style and the way the book flowed, with dual POV allowing an insight into each characters thoughts. I just didn't like the continuous cheating, and found it hard to believe that Nia and Jack who were supposed to be heartbroken could turn to each other so rapidly. Nia especially as she knew nothing about her husbands affair until the TV crew approached her. It seemed like only a day o two later they were on the verge of sex, having fallen hard for each other – that just doesn't work for me. The way things were so slick too – the solicitor saying the court would order her husband to put back the money he'd taken from their joint account, and she'd have money within a week, well maybe US courts move quicker than UK but That Quick? Really? Then Jack tells her his house is huge – I think he describes it as like a ranch, with kitchen in the middle, and she'd be one end and him the other, and they wouldn't need to see each other. So why then when Nia takes a spare bedroom, and Jack understandably doesn't want to sleep in the master as his wife may have cheated there, does he need to sleep on the couch, and the two seem to fall over each other constantly. Some of the writing became decidedly weird at points, such as when she's taking the lasagne out of the oven. Jack's musing about her “bottom” - and the time he takes internally meandering about it makes me wonder just how deep was that oven, as it must have taken her five minutes to get the one dish out, not the 30 seconds or so most people would take....
All in all I didn't enjoy this book. There were some titillating, slightly erotic moments, but the characters were all frankly shallow and dislikeable in my opinion, and I didn't really care what happened to them. Sad but that’s how I felt. Maybe its just me, and others will love this book, who knows? Priced at £1.91 for 125 pages/273kb its a quick short read.
Stars: Sorry but only two from me, this just didn't resonate for me.

Just A Couple of Ex’s Exposed by S Anders
2 Stars – just because I finished it

Nia is leaving work when someone with a video camera approaches her, she thinks she is being asked a poll question, she is a little nervous by why not sign the release so she can answer their question. As soon as she signs the release the whole demeanor of the camera crew changes and she finds out her husband is about to be caught on film for a cheaters television show.

The angst, hate, hurt and shame Nia and Jack (spouse of the other cheater) felt was very apparent to me as I read. I actually bit off all my nails and got really anxious as I read this book. The feelings just didn’t stop because the drama of the catching the spouses cheating never really left the plot until the last few pages. I kept on reading only because this was a short book and I hoped there would be a redeeming conclusion that would calm me. There was a happy ending but it came so quickly and with little detail that I felt no relief from my stocked anxiety.

I requested this book because the blurb interested in me. A man and woman meet when their spouses are caught cheating and in the end these two find love. I know there would be cheating in the plot, I didn’t realize the cheating spouses would play a continuous part in the plot almost up to the last page. I would not read another book in this series and I would seriously have to investigate any other books by this author before I read them. Her writing was okay, but her plot was filled with so much ill emotion it was not fun for me to read. I wrote this review more of a cathartic release of the emotions I have, than spreading news about this book.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review.

I was surprised by the story told in "Blindsided." The fairness of the hard feelings described by the author on this delicate subject of cheating spouses.

The scenario of this new story based on a TV show, that revel the cheaters to the faithful and unfortunate spouse by recording their emotions, is chocking. This is a show that I had heard about in the United States but it has never walked through the doors of France.
Fortunately! Because I do not think anyone wants to discover the infidelity of its beloved one in front of cameras. Beyond the shock, pain, people's reactions are so unpredictable that the result could be worse than the consequences of cheating ...

This is the point of this story, put the reader in the position of voyeur who attends the carnage with the feelings of all those involved and the reactions of everyone after discovering a part of their life has ended.

If the plot is interesting, the fact that the end ends in fairytale does not work for me. The couple are still waiting to give another chance to their unfaithful partners and lack confidence in their own decisions. So, I really found that the formation of the couple Jack / Nia was rushed.

For the true romantics, it can show that love conquers all situations ... In reality, I'm not sure that it happens like that! But I'm not an optimist...

Nia is heartbroken she never thought her husband would ever do something like that to her. In her pain she finds a friend who is able to understand her and also treats her the way she should be treated. Jack is quickly becoming part of her life and he offers her shelter and safety.

Jack knew something was going on and he even expected to find his wife cheating, what he didn't expect was to drag sweet Nia into the mess he created and have her life crumble around her. He understands her pain but even in her hurt state she is genuinely kind. He can't believe how amazing she is and he never expected to find someone in his darkest moment.

This book was tragic and sweet at the same time. I feel that in an event that a spouse is found cheating it is rare to find someone who will understand you and stand by you, and its nice that Jack and Nia found that with each other.

I absolutely hated their spouses, but that's a given. They are horrible people that do not accept that they are the ones who messed up. They are constantly attacking Nia and Jack and blaming them for everything even though they were the ones who cheated. I can't even express how much I disliked them.

Despite what they went through both Jack and Nia found someone they could be themselves with and love. They formed such a strong connection and they came out of the battle with the most precious thing they could have, Each other.

A quick read that is sweet and sexy. This doesn’t really focus on the actual cheating, except in the very beginning when the cheaters are caught. It’s about the husband and wife that were cheated on. I’m not usually a big fan of infidelity in any form, but this was an enjoyable read. The Dual POV was well done and easy to follow. The devastation of adultery and dealing with its aftermath is handled realistically but not too deeply due to the length of the story.

Nia and Jack are both married to people who have drinking problems that brings out their egocentric tendencies. As Nia and Jack help each other through this very trying time they start to fall for each other. In this new relationship they face some of their own issues and are more open and honest with each other. As a result this new relationship is healthier, happier and way more smexually satisfying for both of them.

This was definitely an interesting concept. And considering the page limit it was executed fairly well. Shirl was able tell an interesting fast pace story about two cheated on spouses that turned to one another to cope. Shirl also did an amazing job conveying the sexual tension, and some angst. Unfortunately because of the page limit the characters felt a little flat, which made it difficult to empathize with them.

If you like a straight forward love story, of course it has its complications......
predictable, and just a light read romance, then this is the book for you.

I enjoyed it, but because it was so predictable, I knew there was no doubt what was going to happen in the end, bit like a Mills and Boon story really, nothing wrong in those when sat outside in the sunshine reading a love story.

A short contemporary romance with a very interesting premise. Nia and Jack catches both of their spouses cheating on them with the help of a Cheaters TV reality show. Dealing with the aftermath was something they both didn't prepare for including their attraction to each other. A very well written light and entertaining romance.

I had a really hard time finishing this book. I am not a big fan of stories about cheaters and while the story wasn't technically centered around the cheating couple, it played such a big part in the plot that I couldn't find myself enjoying the story.
