Beautiful story about Draco (mostly) and his life at Hogwarts as a teacher. It moves slowly but it is so much fun to read about Hogwarts from a teacher's perspective, that I did not notice the huge word count. It really is a character study about Draco, but there is enough romance with Harry to keep it interesting. A great cast of supporting characters: Hagrid happens to be not-irritating, Poppy Pomfrey is wonderful and Stanley manages to steal every scene he is in. Loved this story and would especially recommend it to Draco fans (this includes me after reading this)

Harry and Draco are both professors at Hogwarts, they are 32-year-old, but the rivalry between the two of them has never stopped.

A silly prank of Draco and a spell casted in the wrong time mixed together puts Harry some kind of pseudocoma for no one knows how long. He’s aware of his surroundings but unable to move.

It’s a very interesting take of Draco and Harry getting together as Harry is paralyzed and cannot communicate for most of the story.

The story is nicely structured and well-paced, with incredible attention to details. It’s very rich in content – all the characters (main and supporting) and settings are drawn with finesse, making the atmosphere truly Hogwarts-y.

The story is entirely focused on Draco, told from his viewpoint. Not exactly a character development but a character-blooming of him. Draco has distanced himself from everyone after the war. He is amazing and caring and fun, he just doesn’t let anybody close enough to see it. Draco here changes a lot in his attitude: he opens up to new things, starting to see people around him (colleagues and students), he comes out of his shell, comes out of hiding, accepts his past, and learns to move on.
And almost imperceptibly, he falls in love with Harry.
“It has taken the absence of Potter for Draco to know Harry.”

Draco takes over Harry’s responsibilities, and at first things aren’t going well. The House Elf Relations are especially problematic.
“We is hearing about what happened to Harry Potter,” Kreacher says, twisting his long fingers in the fabric of his... garment. “Many of the others is not happy about what sir has done to Harry Potter.”
“It was an accident,” Draco says through gritted teeth.
“Kreacher is not believing in accidents,” the elf says darkly.

“And while we’re on the subject, what is your fascination with treacle tart? There is not a single week of these menus—and I’ve looked through last year’s as well—where it doesn’t appear!”
“Treacle tart is Harry’s Potter’s favourite, sir,” Kreacher says.
Draco sighs. Of course it is.

The secondary characters are wonderful: Professor McGonagall, Madam Pomfrey, Hagrid, Ron and Hermione, the house elves, the students - and it’s amazing to witness how Draco’s building a tentative connection with all of them.

It’s definitely a slow burn romance, but I felt the ending a bit rushed. Four stars because the chemistry here was not as intense as in the other stories by the author. The friendship is strong, but the romance is just not convincing enough (for me).

The author expands HP world with ease, so imaginatively, so bravely, with original characters and beings (Stanley), with ingenious ideas and heartwarming little details (). Her approach to Draco’s Dark Mark is also remarkable.

All Life Is Yours to Miss is a full-length novel, followed by a series of Stanley-snippets. Highly recommended.
Draco scowls and pushes the thought to the back of his mind, flopping onto his back and stretching out on top of his autumn quilt, smiling idly when Stanley scrambles up onto his chest, even though it means he has to hold each piece of parchment up above his face in order to read it. He doesn’t care, because a happy Stanley is a wonderful thing, turning and settling against Draco’s breastbone and investigating his shirt buttons with sleepy antennae.

I completely get why the me from three years ago didn't like this one. I'd only recently discovered fanfic and was much more interested in the more action-y fics.

This time, though, I completely adored this fic! I loved the quiet, peaceful, introspective nature. I loved that it was Draco-centric and how well I feel like I got to know this version of him.

I originally gave this 3 stars, this time it would have gotten 5, so I'll settle on 4.

Some New Favorite Quotes:
"Bad mistakes provide a man with quick experience, Mr Malfoy," McGonagall says, and when he looks up at her, her face is kinder than he has seen it in a long time.

Stanley is pleased to see him and is reassuringly easy to predict, and today, that will do for Draco.

"I see," Draco says evenly. He's not qualified to deal with this. He's not even qualified to deal with his own personal issues.

His life is bigger, whether he wants it to be or not, and maybe there just isn't the time to hate things.

She sighs and sips at her tea, features arranged into an expression of philosophical disappointment. "Just when I was starting to enjoy your diatribes."
Draco smiles, surprising himself. "I'm sure I can muster one up if you like," he offers.
She shakes her head. "You know as well as I do that it won't be the same if you don't mean it."

"Sometimes it's no so clear-cut," Harry says. "The Sorting Hat tried to put me in Slytherin until I started arguing with it."
"You can't argue with the Sorting Hat," Draco says. Frowns. "Can you?"
"I can argue with anything," Harry says mysteriously.

"Are you listening?"
"I have no idea. What did you say?"
Harry sighs.

"You're imagining things," Draco says, eyes caught by Harry's pyjamas. The little dragons do indeed blow out little puffs of smoke and are quite mesmerising, especially for people who are trying to avoid other people's eyes."

Saras_Girl's TURN is one of my favorite Drarry stories, so I had high hopes for this one.

And it was pleasant. But also rather predictable. And also somewhat frustrating that And then even when they do interact, they're just both so very British and stoic.

I thought Stanley was adorable, and a fantastically clever idea. I also loved getting to see what Harry thought Stanley looked like, very cute.

Favorite Quotes:
He knows he's being unpleasant, but he's not sure how to stop, or indeed how else to be.

"He's obviously not in any great distress if the first thing he wants is one of your tall tales."
"My tales are perfectly proportioned," Draco says without looking away from Harry.

Sweet fic by a favorite author, a 3.5 star for me! Loved the solid writing, sweet story, though technically Draco and Harry are ‘together’ (as in Harry is in a hospital bed seemingly unconscious) time wise the actual relationship doesn’t really come together until close to the end. This appears to be more of a fic of Draco coming into his own, walking a mile in someone else’s shoes and finding out that maybe he isn’t as disliked as he thinks he is. This author always creates well rounded characters, interesting story lines and beautiful slow burn romances. Loved this, another winner!

For fanfiction this is top of the shelf. Sara's tales allow us to dream away in the world of Hogwarts whenever we wish. The wit, sarcasm and little weird trinkets she spins make it all worth while. Don't step back from the large word count, it's worth it.
In this story Draco's beetle Stanley is a perfect example of this.

Sara's Girl

Tropes:
– Draco/Harry fanfiction
– Enemies to lovers
– Professors at Hogwarts
– Forced Proximity

I love my favorite couple in their professors era. This was a very sweet Draco focused read in which Harry has an accident and Draco has to take over his responsibilities and also keep talking to Harry while he is unresponsive.

I absolutely love Sara's Girl's writing in this book was a really good slow burn with banter and character, development and growth and tension and all that good stuff. All the other books I have read by this author have been from Harry’s point of view so getting Draco‘s was such a treat!

A cute slow-burn romance with some nice moments. Stanley the magic beetle was very adorable.
Gotta say though, I prefer my Draco with more snark and less self-doubt.

The Beetle and the Bard!! That’s what the title of this should have been! Such a missed opportunity. God, I love a Draco-centric story and in this one he has the strangest, most endearing pet ever. Rivals the snails from the Helix fanfic. Like, no question. The cute-o-meter is currently out of order.

Finally something to rival my obsession with T.U.R.N.. I will probably remember this masterpiece a long time. It's from Draco's POV, which is a big hit with me. It's around 75% and Harry is finally actively again on the scene. And I'm not a big fan of Harry, so this story was really perfect for me. I wonder why I waited so long to read this? It was so brilliant.
