H.B. Berlow (1962- ) studied film-making at the University of Miami in the 80's; was involved in the Boston poetry scene in the 90's; and is a former president of the KWA (Kansas Writer's Association). He has concentrated largely on historical crime fiction, having been inspired by such writers as Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.
