Only one man can uncover the truth - the conspiracy behind all conspiracy theories. But being kept in the dark is sometimes the safest place to be...

David Bryant, sole survivor of a plane crash, embarks on a long journey back to health. A journey not without difficulty or danger - for, unknown to him, there are those who wish to see him dead. While recovering in the Scottish Highlands, Bryant begins to question his sanity after hearing voices and experiencing unnerving visions.

In London, Superintendent Ray Tomlinson investigates the kidnap of two young children. With few leads and no ransom demand, he is under increasing pressure to find the children before it's too late.

Two men. Each facing a different challenge. Their paths inexorably linked...

Second Sight is the first book in Alec Hyde's supernatural thriller trilogy, The False Light Conspiracy.

In David Bryant, Alec's debut novel introduces us to a reluctant hero; an otherwise insignificant, ordinary man - whose path, whose destiny, is set to be anything but. For Bryant's journey, his search for the truth, will prove to be extra-ordinary.

Bringing together established, scientific principles and metaphysical beliefs, Alec presents readers with a highly accessible, credible new take on the well-worn conspiracy theory genre.

Second Sight will appeal equally to fans of traditional police-procedural thrillers, those who enjoy psychological conundra, and those whose reading preference is for the supernatural or paranormal.

It's time to come out of the dark. To see the light...

It had me hooked, but at the same time I was getting lost as to what was real and not real in david's world. I wanted to spend more time with Tomlinson or get down to what was really ahhpening with David. The book is a bit chatty, but I liked it. It was scary in parts and suspenseful in others. Want to read the next in the sereis to see what is happening.

A fascinating genre mix. Alec Hyde expertly combines crime story, parapsychology, psychology, New Age and conspiracy theory, weaving not tangling the threads into a captivating web.

His two main characters, the plane crash-survivor David Bryant and the policeman Tomlinson, are drawn very realistically with their strengths and not so charming character traits. Their problems seem to be individual ones. Twist by unsuspected twist, those storylines are brought together and the reader starts to suspect that there is much more going on than can be seen at first glance.

If you are a fan of thrilling stories that keep surprising you with their twists and turns without bucking you off by becoming confusing or too far-fetched, this book's for you. The author's smooth but un-kitschy style makes this page-turner a joy to read. Even more than once.
