My Thoughts - Story
I am writing this review with dual thoughts swirling around my head…happiness that Olivia and Joshua have finally found their HEA but sadness that this series is over.

I had the opportunity to read the first book of the series because of a blitz and once I finished, I just had to email Ms. Silver and ask for the rest of the series because I couldn’t think straight until I found out how this story ended.

I loved the characters, I loved the premise of the story and I got sucked in to the events happening around Olivia and Joshua. The secondary characters were awesome to make the story even better and I just can’t say enough about this series.

Re-Cap
We pick right up after the fall of the government and now there are new threats in the horizon. Secrets start coming out about these “special” people and a new villain is introduced along with some old ones popping back up!

Olivia must find out what other special abilities she has in order to fix the dwindling population along with saving Joshua.

My Review:

Cover - I have to admit, I loved the Moirai cover better, same with Aberrant. that's not to say this cover isn't great. It is. I like the ebook cover too but not as much as moirai again. plus don't they say never judge a book by its cover? i'm always so guilty of it 4 stars

Plot - action, twists and turns, some sci-fi/fantasy stuff tossed in. Not everyone survives in Isaura but the people I really care about do. So this makes me happy. Plus the awesome was we got Josh back. We also learn who Isaura is and she's this evil bad guy with these motives that really made me think. She's got an agenda and its for the greater good but it isn't good. You have to read to understand what i'm say, but I loved it. I kind of loved her, even though she's evil. tehre's still some questions I have by the end but it mostly wrapped up the things I cared about. Not only a happy but a satisfying conlusion to the series 5 stars

Characters - new characters and old. Olivia has grown a lot. she leads the group to find Josh, she truly has become a leader. We see Adelade again. She's a breath of fresh air. The setting and world they're in is scary and bleak. its a nice change of pace to have a child with optimism in the book. a few times she even made me laugh. As mentioned above, we have Isaura. She brings to depth. Then there's Henry. I really loved him. I'm glad we didn't get a love triangle thrown in but he did add some humor to a dark situation. 5 stars.

SOMEWHAT SPOILERS BELOW.......

Originality - YES! It was great reading a novel that was unique. Isaura had a mix of fantasy and dystopia. I don't feel like we see this concoction often enough. It made the story new even by the third book. I had no idea what Isaura would be up to. I was glad the entire book wasn't just finding Josh. I felt so bad for Olive and what she was going through. She was willing to sacrifice herself to save those in Spade. After everyone (nearly everyone) died in Haven, she didn't want to experience that again. I just wish the book didn't have to end 5 Stars

The entire series I'd give 5 stars to along with Isaura. I felt like this book was the strongest of the three. I refused to put it down and read it in one sitting. The first was action packed. The second had a nice dosage of depth to the characters, especially secondary ones. The third book had a blend of both action and depth. I felt like we connected in the first two books, so by book three it's amazing. I loved the ending, I'm sad to see it end but it ended beautifuly.

If you like dystopia, romance, fantasy or young adult novels, I think yo'll like the aberrant trilogy/series.

Having been a part of blog tours since the beginning of the Aberrant series I have very much enjoyed both Aberrant and Moirai. I was interested to see where Ruth would take the story in the last instalment and I can’t say I was disappointed. What I will say is I wish there were four books in the series.

The reason for this being that there are lots of events described in Isaura and I’d have liked to spend a little more time on them. For example, you’ll know that the last book finished with the disappearance of one of our lead characters, Joshua. This is a big deal and it felt a little bit skipped over to make space for the main event of the book. Even so it’s brilliantly written as were the other two books.

Ruth definitely has a talent for grabbing her readers and dragging them into the very pages they’re reading. Throughout this series my stomach has flopped a good few times and I’ve found myself smiling when plans have gone well. This series is the first I’ve read based on a Dystopian future but it has put me in mind of Joss Whedon’s Firefly series and Escape from Frog Town (1998), so picturing the Gravelands and some of the events have been easy, especially considering the way Ruth writes and describes the people and places whilst leaving the reader in the driving seat.

It’s always a shame when you reach the end of the series but this book brings everything together, it’s action packed and will keep you reading until every page is turned.

Magic Forbidden is book 3 in the Aberrant series by Ruth Silver. This book picks up on the cliffhanger that book 2 left. Joshua has been abducted by the former mayor of Genesis. Craynor is now on the run and looking to hurt Olivia for what she has done. With the new changes that are being implemented in light of the uprising of the Rebels and the downfall of the original government, a new government is being put in place. This new government tells Olivia that she can pursue Craynor but that they will not force anyone to help her. So basically, she's on her own finding her husband. But it won't be long before bigger problems show up. The hunt is on to find Joshua, but something/someone else is hunting Olivia with their own agenda.
Now, I have to applaud the author on this book. I'm so thankful that for the most part we are allowed a break from Olivia's bad attitude that was ever prevalent in the previous books. This story is just as engaging as the other books and kept me interested in the overall story. Another town is introduced and there are a few surprises as well. I like that in this book we get some explanations as to why certain things happened to some characters in the previous book. For me, this helps to fill in the gap as to why that happened to this character and not to her.
My issue with this book arises with the new villain. Where did this character come from? We learn that one of the characters is familiar with this new villain from a previous book. But we're really in the dark. The villain character acts really familiar with Olivia and the others and vice versa. I'm shocked because I'm trying to piece where they ever interacted and it just doesn't come to mind. There are still some jumps and gaps in the storyline that keep it all from meshing better and completely but this book is an improvement on the previous books.
I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I'm taking half a star for the villain situation. I just want it to make sense and right now it's a plot point that has a huge hole as to where she came from and why. I need the plot holes to be filled in and there to be fewer jumps.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

On the cover we see a site under construction with cranes and in the bottom of buildings in height. We find the beautiful Olivia who is looking for Joshua. She has no choice but to go to the dangerous Gravelands or a new government reigns there. Joining forces with his father and a girl they're looking for Joshua and want to bring him back alive. She's going to expose her secret and going to be hunted.

A volume three full of twists, with endearing characters, a story that holds the road. Hurry if tome 4 there to read it.

From the moment, and I mean THE MOMENT Isaura started, there was not a dull moment. So much was jam-packed into this novel. It went from problem solved to problem and then backed to solved about 300 times. I was on the edge of my proverbial seat the entire time I read it. Which was only a couple of hours, because I was so engrossed and simply had to finish the book and see what happened to everyone.

So, the end of Moirai ended with a HUGE cliffhanger, and I was desperate to get my hands on Isaura immediately after I finished its predecessor. Not only because of the awesome cliffhangery ending; but because the Aberrant trilogy has been one of my favourite series of the year. A more unique dystopian than I have ever come across before, the Aberrant trilogy is not one to be forgotten.

One aspect of Isaura that I really enjoyed was the introduction of new characters, and new settings. Ruth seems to have an art of introducing new characters with each book, and make every read an interesting one. I especially loved the addition of Henry. I thought he was a character that brought flair and substance to the story, but without taking it over. I would have absolutely loved to have learned more about him.

Isaura was a was an amazing villain, with just the right amount of 'oh so evil', but 'does good things, too'. It's hard to explain without giving the entire plot away, so I guess I will just say that keep a close eye on that woman.

In regards to settings, I have this really clear picture of Spade in my mind, and I hope it’s what Ruth imagined it to be. In my mind it’s this kind of throwback to the medieval times, with black cobblestones, and high walls. I would definitely visit that place, even amongst all the revolutionary action!

I would have loved the pacing of some parts of the novel to be slower, so that, as a reader, I could have really immersed myself in what Olivia was going through, and thinking. This novel was such an epic journey for her, and I would have loved to be with her the entire way, even in the lesser eventful parts. She’s such an awesome person, and her character voice is intriguing. I would have happily read a novel twice as long just to read more of her thoughts on everything that had happened!

I am still in love with Joshua. Although there was a kiss that was alluded to, but Olivia never brought it up with him, and now I am left wondering if it happened. Josh is supposed to be the perfect book boyfriend. I cannot handle this heartache! Nevertheless, even if it was true, my heart still belongs with him. He’s so extremely supportive, and optimistic, and just generally all ‘round amazing. I am still holding out for Joshua snippets. Maybe one day!

The magic element was topped up a notch in Isaura, and I really liked the new additions! Again, not wanting to ruin anything, but I love the incorporation of classic dystopian and fantasy/sci-fi themes in the Aberrant books. It makes them very unique, and refreshing to read.

I liked how resolving the end was. I wasn’t left wondering, but it wasn’t ‘and they lived happily ever after’ uber cheese, either. It was just the kind of ending I love. I really hate being left dissatisfied with series endings, but the ending of the Aberrant trilogy truly does the series justice.

Since Isaura is an action-packed and adventurous climax to a wonderful series, I will not say any more except that Ruth has written an amazing dystopian series that I highly recommend!

Isaura, Wow, Just WOW! That's the feeling this book gave me! Ruth Silver always leaves me feeling this way when I finish one of her books, and Isaura is no exception! I was on the edge of my seat, needing more! That's why I love reading anything from her, because I know I am going to get the ride of my life!

Isaura will leave you breathless, and demanding more, as you go through a world like none other, full of magic, time travel, and love! It was beautifully written, and ended perfectly! I couldn't ask for a better ending to an amazing series!

THE PLOT

Olivia has been through it all, and its not getting any easier! The rebellion is falling apart, plans are failing, betrayals are made, people are revealed, and worlds are crumbling down!

And to make matters worse, Olivia's husband has been kidnaped by the sadistic governor Craynor, and he has taken Josh and vanished without a trace! But that won't stop Olivia because she's determined to do anything in her power to get him back before its too late!

But as Olivia travels the vicious Gravelands in search for Josh, she come to realize that Governor Craynor is not the only threat out there. And that others could be lying low, waiting for the perfect time to strike! Only thing on Olivia's side is knowing that her Mindonsiphan training gives her an advantage that others don't have, but even that can only take her so far! So Olivia must build allies in the town of Spade if she's going to save Josh, and fight whatever else is after her! But who are they? What do they want? And most important, what are they willing to do to get what they want?

Olivia will call on strength and powers she never knew she had, as she fights to save herself and her friends from the threats threating to take control and claim innocent lives. This is it, this is what it's all came down too. It's the end, and one side is not walking out alive. But which side will it be? Olivia and her allies, or the other people hell bent on bring pain and suffering to their world?

Well you want those answers? Your going to have to read the last book in this explosive trilogy, that you won't want to miss!

Doesn't that sound amazing? It is!This is the simplest I can put my emotions into words.
Isaura will leave your heart pounding, hands shaking, and emotions-racing, as you travel through time and back!

Yes, I said time and back! You weren't expecting that aspect were you? I know I wasn't when I started it, but it was just an another amazing surprise!

Bottom-line, Isaura ROCKED!! It ended amazingly, the plot was fast-paced, and emotion-packed, with romance, drama, and fight to save humanity, with all the lose ends tied up! It just couldn't get any better! Only complaint I have, is that they're won't be another book! I want more of Olivia and Josh and their action-packed adventures in Aberrant. But if it has to end, I am so happy it ended they way it did! Come on Ruth hurry up and write something else, because I need more of your EPIC adventures! :-)

As I sit down to write this review, it is bitter sweet. This series has been a great surprise in a year where I read close to 300 books. The three of these being some of my favorites, it comes as no surprise that the ending to this epic trilogy did not disappoint me. So as we move into the new year, I was excited to see Isaura come across my email to end the year on a high note, but a sad one as well. I fell in love with Olivia, Joshua and all the other character from the future country of Cabal and really cared about where they were going to go from the end of the second book to here.

I have to applaud the author because the story never got redundant or boring, she kept it fresh and introduced new and invaluable characters to the series at exactly the right times, at places that the main characters either needed them or need them to exist to defeat. For example, Isaura and her crazy evilness was necessary to progress the new government and where these towns where going after the revolution started by Olivia and crew in the second book. Henry, the leader of Spade, was needed to give a contrast to the newly formed government. Both characters made this book better along with moving the remaining cast from previous stories in different directions. Adding some elements of fairy tale such as the Through the Looking Glass reference and other magical elements was creative and really helped the story feel new and exciting. You're left feeling so much hope emanating from these pages by the end of this story that you knew these people were going to be okay, and I was happy with that.

Olivia, to me, was the shining star throughout but she really reached her peak in Isaura. She remained her tough-as-nails self, but matured further than I expected. She took responsibility and that leader position that she had been avoiding for two books. She made choices that were difficult and really made them with a resolve that I don't think we would have seen at the beginning of this series. Despite what she tries to convince you of throughout, she is more than most people are, she is special. She is Aberrant. This final story solidified that for me and I am so proud of her. The purpose of a finale is to wrap up all the little loose ends and this book did that to a healthy satisfaction. Of course I would have loved to explore every nook and cranny of Spade and Cabal but there wouldn't be enough pages in the world to ever truly run over everything in this world, but as an ending....this rocked!

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Olivia lives in a world where women can't get pregnant. Olivia is the only woman that they know about that can get pregnant. There is scientist working on figuring out why women can't get pregnant. They are working on a cure. They are some people who want to take Olivia against her will so that they can run test on her so they will be the ones who finds the cure. So while Olivia is trying to stay up step ahead of the ones who want to kidnap her she is searching for Josh. Josh was kidnapped in book #2 of the Aberrant series and now Olivia is trying to find him. She will do whatever she needs to or has to do to get find him Olivia will fight for her husband and his life. She would give up her own life for his. As Josh would do anything for Olivia. He would give his life for Olivia as well. Josh and Olivia are soulmates.

Josh and Olivia have to grow up real fast in the world that they live in and have been thrown into. Josh and Olivia should be going to college and just hanging out with their friends, but not in the world that they live in. When they turn eighteen years of age they are married and end up having to run away from the only home that they had ever known, running for their lives. When their new home is blown up just when they have returned to it. They have to go back out to the gravelands and find a new home to live in. They are also on the run from Isaura herself. Isaura is the bad guy who wants to use Olivia as a test subject for her experiments so she can find a way for women to become pregnant again.

Isaura is just chocked full of twist and turns that will leave you hanging but only for a little while. At times you think you have everything all figured out and then bam the author throws another twist in your face and you are like whoa wait a minute I sure didn't see that one coming. She makes you feel as if you are right there with Olivia riding right along beside her on her journey. You forget that you are reading a book and it is like you are seeing a movie play out in your head. I am sad to see the end of the series. I am going to miss Olivia and Josh. I would really like to know more about all of the other characters as well. Thanks for a great journey Olivia and Josh it has been fun. I highly recommend the Aberrant series to anyone who has not had the opportunity to read it yet.

I have loved this series from the moment I read the first book, Aberrant! Fantastic characters, fantastic stories, fantastic world building. The entire story takes place in the future and, in this book, there are some familiar place names that make you understand that this is our world far in the future. The damage that has been done to humanity is devastating with all sides fighting to fix it. But it is the reasons behind the desire to change things that can be dangerous.

There are a lot of twists and turns in this book, always keeping you guessing. The suspense was definitely hyped up, with the reader never entirely certain who was a good guy and who was not from moment to moment. Much of the cast were characters that we have known throughout the series, but there were some new ones, too, which added to the "who is good, who is bad" suspense and uncertainty!

The author is terrific at building a world that, even though it may geographically be ours, is almost unrecognizable in its dystopian changes. That really highlights the idea that not only are we visiting the future world (with the year 2225 being far in THEIR past), but that the world is very different from that which we know now in 2013. She gives you enough detail to form an idea of what the world looks like, with just enough room left for the reader's imagination. For me, I imagined a world a lot like that which was shown in the Denzel Washington movie The Book of Eli. Destruction, chaos, and corruption with occasional civilized areas.

Things to love about Isaura...

--The world. As I said, it is beautifully built and perfectly sets the stage for this epic story.
--The suspense. The twists and turns, the uncertainty, the mystery... it was perfect.

My recommendation: This is not a standalone novel, needing Aberrant and Moirai to form a complete story. But this is entire series is absolutely wonderful!

A fan of Ruth Silver's Aberrant series from the beginning, I couldn't wait to read the third and final book in this series. Isaura definitely didn't disappoint. It was packed with action and unexpected twists and turns. I never really had a sense of where the story would wind up. This was a fitting end to a unique and compelling dystopian series.

It's always bittersweet when you reach the end of a series with characters you've come to love. It's wonderful to find out where the story finishes, but it's sad to let them go. I adored Olivia and Joshua from the beginning. Their relationship had its ups and downs, but their love and devotion kept them strong. Both of them really grew into their own in this book. They matured tremendously, accepted their powers and were just wonderfully strong people, the perfect hero and heroine.

A quick and easy read, I breezed through this in a couple hours time. As I started to reach the end of the book, I was torn between desperately needing to find out the conclusion and not ever wanting it to end. If you're a fan of young adult dystopians with strong characters and lots of action, you have to pick up this series. You won't be disappointed.

I was so excited to get a hold of this book, I just had to know how it all ended, and this one did not disappoint at all! It is filled with action, romance, everything you would want in a great story.

Olivia and Joshua are my two favourite characters for this series for sure, I love how they interact with each other, and even after everything that they go through, they are still in love and are best friends.

The plot twist in this part of the trilogy was probably my favourite out of the three, I didn't see it coming, and it added an extra spin on everything that I think was a perfect way to end the series for sure. All of the secondary characters played a major role as well, and there were a lot, but it was not hard to keep track at all and you pretty much knew where everyone was on the side of good or bad.

I cannot imagine a future where we are told when we are to conceive children, and how many, and who we are to marry, etc. but I am very happy with the ending, and if I had to live in a world like that, I would choose Spade as my home that is for sure!

If you have not picked up this series yet, you have to do it, you will love it just as much as I did I am sure, this book get a 5/5 from me!

Isaura is the final installment of the Aberrant Trilogy. Man what an ending to an awesome trilogy. It is brilliant, emotional, breathtaking, and contains everything I wanted from the final book. I read it in one sitting and was left with a content feeling, even though I was sad to see it end. Some characters do inevitably die but I felt it made the book very realistic. I was also glad that the entire book was not just about finding Josh, there were a lot more plot twists. I felt that this was the best book of the three but seriously loved them all. There are extremely original concepts in this series and that is difficult to accomplish with the dystopian flood that came in the last couple years. There is nothing to say that I don’t love the dystopian genre but some elements can be over done.

Ruth Silver is simply brilliant and I will read whatever she writes in the future. Her book should be on the shelves in all major bookstores. I will continue to sing my praises for this trilogy because it is sooo good!

I recommend this book and series to all readers who love dystopian, paranormal, fantasy, or young adult novels.

Definitely a great read! I loved the first two books in the series, and I knew this would be a great read as well. I really liked the whole writing style, and how everything just blends perfectly. Isaura is a mix of everything I loved in a book ─ heart-pounding actions, romance and some parts fantasy.

I really can't talk much of the story line due to the spoilers, except that it's better than the first two book, if that's possible. Mainly because it was different from most dystopian I've read, and there are a lot of them out there.

I loved how the characters were developing themselves, in a way, to get stronger and so real. Meaning to say, I understand some of what they're going through and actually sympathize for them. The setting of the story itself wasn't exactly heaven, considering its Dystopian nature and constant state of war, so I really appreciate how the romance parts blends without seeming awkwardly out of place.

To sum it up, I love everything from the plot to the characters. I'm glad to have come across the series ─ it's one of my favorite now. Ruth Silver definitely has become one of the authors to watch for and I'll be looking forward to more works from her. 5 solid stars!

Olivia must now face her biggest enemy ever. Joshua has disappeared and things just get even worse from there. She has helped take down an evil government but now is hunted by that same government when her secret powers are revealed. She has to show she isn't the bad guy, find Joshua and help the world get to a normal state. That may be hard to do when she is being chased and hunted by a crazy power hungry person with powers of her own. The secret is out and no where is safe.

Wow this book takes so many twist I never saw coming. You learn so much more about the powers what effects it has and why Olivia and Joshua seem stronger than others. There is lots of tragedy in this book as well as hope. I love how Olivia even scared does whatever she can to keep her friends safe. She is thrown into some hard times and has to fight to get back to those she loves. While she has to do some hard things that do haunt her she just wants people to know she isn't a monster. She has many trials to go through in this book and the author does a great job wrapping it up. At times I wish it was more detailed as it skips forward a few times but other than that it is a wonderful book and series.

I have had a chance to review all three books for tours with the blog and I absolutely LOVE them all. I had kind of fallen away from the dystopian books for a while after making it halfway through Reached (Matched Series) and halfway through the Hunger Games series, but this series made me fall in love with dystopian books once again. Kudos to you Ruth is making me fall in love not only with the characters but the genre as well.

I didn't think the books could get much better but this was went above and beyond my expectations. However, it did seem a little bit rushed in parts but all in all it was an amazing book. You learn more about the powers the people of Shadow and now the leader of the city of Spark possess.

In the end of Moirai Joshua is kidnapped and this one starts with the search of him. New powers/abilities pop up and even a new villian of sorts show up. The fast paced and energetic book is my favorite of the three. I can't wait to read more book by Ruth as she is an amazing author!

I loved how much Olivia has grown into a kiss-ass heroine. Though she wants anything but sainthood, she is determined to make the world they live in free and fair. As with the first two books, Isaura was action packed. There was never a dull moment. Olivia and Joshua's relationship is one to envied.Through thick and thin they are forever looking out for each other's best interest and their love ascends all time.
Olivia must find Joshua before Craynor can do him any harm. But Craynor isn't the worst threat our there. Some else is after them and they must figure out why they are being hunted down and how to defeat that person before all they have achieved in the rebellion is lost. There is hope on the horizon if they can figure out what Isaura has done and replicate it in a safe manor. Wow!

What a great ending to a very nail biting series! I finished the whole series in 3 days, lol. Non stop reading, it was too hard to put it down.

SPOILERS

So I mostly binge read this series in a few days but when I got to reading Isaura, I pretty much had been tired of reading this series. I think the writing made it hard for me to enjoy the story as much as I wanted. I had been rooting for the last book to be the best out of them all, and it probably was but I couldn't bring myself to completely finish it.

I got about a third in and ended up skimming it to the end which was actually decent. I could read the last third of the book and figure out what happened. Olivia improved a bit and so did Joshua as a whole but I think their story could have been summed up and squeezed into one or two books if done correctly. While the stories were fast paced, I felt like a lot of it added up to little or nothing in the story. I would have liked to see more meaningful scenes/plot devices that led to the climax or end.

Maybe one day if I had nothing better to do I would try to pick this book back up but I doubt that I will. The lead up to the climax just didn't interest me enough. Even though I invested time to read the first two books, I didn't feel compelled to follow through to the end. The stakes weren't really there for me in the third book to read the entire thing to get to the end.

2.3 out of 5 rating for me!

I want to thank Booksprout for this partnership, as well as LazyDay Publishing and Ruth Silver, of course.

My second reading for this volume three but under another title. I love everything that is dystopia and again I was not disappointed. I love the pen of this author who in a fluid writing, the story is captivating characters always so endearing. The cover is beautiful.

We find Olivia and Joshua. She's looking for him because he's gone and she did not see him coming. She will have to travel to Outlaw territory at the risk of being discovered.

A third volume filled with suspense and twists.

Ruth Silver’s Magic Forbidden (formerly Isaura), the third and final book in her Aberrant series, is a really fun read and fitting conclusion to a fun series. Even though I tend to avoid dystopian books, I t’s been a pleasure following Olivia and Joshua along in their adventures, and this one was as imaginative and as well written as it’s sister books. I’m going to cut this short as I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed, but the bottom line is that the book is most definitely one to read.

I felt screaming every time I saw the phrase “stomach somersaulted”.

The concept of the trilogy was not bad–enough to keep me reading (I rarely abandon books), but it was poorly written and the last book felt so contrived and mundane, and the main character’s maturity level matched that of a child.

Book Launch on my blog 5 Dicembre
Except + Giveaway + Review
http://pleaseanotherbook.tumblr.com/p...

I segreti saranno rivelati.

“There’s always hope,” he whispered taking my hand as he led me out of our room and down to the dining room. “Don’t give up hope, Olive. Don’t ever give up hope.”
