Slow Burn When Imani Westbrook travels to her family’s vacation home, it’s to relax and do a little self-reflection. She’s recently lost her job and decides to pursue her passion of painting as a form of therapy until she can figure out what she wants to do next. She can’t think of a better place than a beachfront summer home where the stressors of the “real world” fade into the background. However Imani doesn’t plan to run into Carson Baxter…
Some Like it Hot Naja Westbrook needs a relaxing summer vacation. She can’t think of a better reason to take one than to meet the new man in her older sister’s life. As usual, Naja decides to take the bull by the horns and make the impromptu trip. What she doesn’t count on is meeting Sterling Henson, a man who challenges her in ways she didn’t think a man ever could. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s fifteen years her senior. Maybe he can teach her a few things…
USA Today Bestselling Author Stephanie Morris enjoys creating a story that combines a sensual energy with a captivating storyline. Sometimes her heroines have an edgier persona to them and sometimes they are of a softer essence. But all the time, her heroines are like real women, just trying to make a living and keep on going no matter what challenges life brings them. In Stephanie's opinion, there is nothing like curling up with a good book that you can't put down, and she is addicted to writing them.
One Hot Summer Anthology contains short stories from all my favorite authors. The Summer of Us by Melanie Moreland. The Summer of Us by Melanie Moreland is part of the anthology of multiple authors. I review Ms. Moreland's story. Linc and Sunny and a short summer for both of them. Linc is a young man, in his last year at high shool and he works at a summer camp. He wants to go to college and become a veterinarian. He can't wait to meet her again. Sunny is from the wrong side of the tracks, but she's deeply in love with Linc. Only fate/karma/parents decide to throw a wrench their way. Time flies and ten years after they meet again. Now they're different people. The Summer of Us is a quick read, shows the story before the story and I greatly enjoyed the excellent writing, the fantastic characters and intriguing story. 4,5 Stars.
The Inheritance by Amy Briggs.
Summer Seduction by Caisey Quinn.
By the Seaside by Heidi McLaughlin. Kelly is a freshly divorced single mom of an 5 year old and back home after years away. She's a strong heroine and knows starting over isn't easy. She's the coffee shop owner in a picturesque tourist town. And her highschool crush and heart break Danny still lives here too. Danny Weatherly became the twons doctor after his father retired. He's a good guy, single and a bit lonely. When he meets Kelly he has high hopes to win her back. By the Seaside is a sweet small town romance, excellent written and with a great storyline and brilliant characters. 5 Stars.
Love's a Beach by Danielle Pearl.
Single in Sitka by Katy Regnery. Single in Sitka tells Amanda and Luke's story. Amanda is looking for Mr. Right and wants the picked fence life. She's lonely. Luke is a good guy, a single dad and he never wants to life in a big city. He enjjoys the small town life where everyone knows everone's business and his life would be perfect when Amanda were in it. Single in Sitka is my favorite read in this Anthology. The characters are real and the story is beautifully thought out, beautifully told and beautifully written.5 Stars.
