Losing one’s heart to another man is dangerous enough without the added threat of a supernatural terror. But that hasn’t stopped John Crane and Brom Bones from falling hard in love – with each other, and with the alluring Katrina Van Tassel. When Brom becomes engaged to Katrina, John is sure the wedding will tear him and Brom apart, and their love sparks a struggle between passion and loyalty. But Brom is determined to keep both of his lovers, and Katrina has some secret desires of her own – desires that haunt only the wildest of John’s dreams and blur the lines they’ve all been fighting not to cross. Is it possible for three people to be in love? Their passion won’t be enough to keep them together if something isn’t done about the evil that’s haunting Sleepy Hollow: a headless horseman who rides to kill.
I write what I know and love: adult romance with blue-collar heroes and real-life flavor. Tattoos, handcuffs and men in uniform are a few of my favorite things, and it shows in my thirty+ published books.
I live in the South with my man in uniform, who I married for the entertainment value. Just kidding - it was the handcuffs, err, true love. ;)
So far, our happily ever after includes a couple kids, German Shepherd dogs and a mutual appreciation of timely 'that's what she said' jokes.
When I'm not writing, I love reading, good coffee, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and whatever outdoor adventures I can find.
I also love hearing from readers, so don't be shy! If you've enjoyed something I've written, hearing from you would make my day.
I enjoyed the first book so much I got the second and I loved it!
The story picks up 7 months after Brom and John are in a secret relationship. Brom becomes engaged to Katrina and John is devastated because he doesn't see himself in their relationship. He plans to kill himself until Brom stops him. From this suicide attempt, the Headless Horseman comes along to the town of Sleepy Hollow. An interesting take to the whole HH story.
Everything turns out good in the end and I would love more stories on Brom, Katrina and John.
There's m/f/m and m/m/f scene which is always a pleasure to read.
The sequel too the free read "Whiskey Dreams," Haunted Passions" was a fun read and a great twist on "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." My first book with a M/M/F ménage, I found I really liked it. I'm really surprised with all the pie they ate, John and Brom weren't as big as a house though!
This was a fantastic read. The mystery was good but the lovestory was awesome! Poor John. He suffers much but in the end he gains a lot. Great re-telling of the Sleepy Hollow legend. I recommend to all who likes m-m and m-f-m
What an exciting, page turning, sexy little twist on The Sleepy Hollow classic! I read Whiskey Dreams and was so enthralled in Brom and John's story, I had to grab Haunted Passions immediately. I loved that Rose took this classic tale and made it her own, right down to the Headless Horseman's motivations.
A spooky little love triangle, with a twist, all three participants are willing and able! The intimacy between characters as well as plot and story are clearly defined and captivating; Rose has a knack for attention to detail, right down to that pesky blade of grass.
In the sequel to Whiskey Dreams, Rose takes the forbidden relationship between Brom and John a step further with the addition of Katrina Van Tassel. Brom is unabashadly in love with John Crane. The sexy, if a bit naive, school teacher. He's also in love with the equally sexy and naive Katrina Van Tassel, Sleepy Hollow's most eligible Mistress. When Brom and Katrina announce their engagement, John is all but destroyed and despondent. In a moment of weakness, he does something unthinkable, something that sets him right into the Headless Horseman's sight!
Not only do we get lots of page time with the force of nature that is Brom and John when these two get tangled up together, but Rose add's Katrina to the mix. Creating one of the sexiest threesomes ever written! Just as this unlikely threesome are trying to work out the kinks in their would be "relationship", the Horseman makes his move. When John figures out exactly what, or whom he is after, he will stop at nothing to protect the people he loves.
I'd call this an Erotic tale that is sensual, intriguing, mysterious and Romantic; above all it's a fascinating Love story. Rose reinvents this story and gives it a breath of fresh air with the love triangle and her murderous ghostly version of the Headless Horseman. Warning; there are so extremely erotic scenes between Brom and John as well as Brom, John and Katrina that were so steamy, I thought my kindle would catch on fire!
I give this one 4/5 but, that's just my two cents!
For some reason, the Legend of Sleepy Hallow is one that has always spooked me. It doe snot matter if I am watching a Disney version or reading the original story, they all spook me. This is odd, because I love horror and ghost type stories. When I saw this book, I knew I had to read it. I enjoy Ranae's shifter series and love Sleepy Hallow, so I figured it would be a good fit. I should add that I read the prequel Whiskey Dreams, first. I think this is important to add because I really think having that having read that short prequel first made this book so much "more". I am not sure I would have bought into one of the key scenes had I not read it first.
To me, this story really had two main components. The first one and the one that drew me to it, was the retelling of the Legend of Sleepy Hallow. I found the way this story was woven to be beyond interesting. I have read more Sleepy Hallow versions than I can remember and this one still surprised me. The second main component was the relationship(s) between the three main characters in a time period that was very different from our own. Ranae did a really nice job with this. This is where I think reading Whiskey Dreams first really made this story better. It made some of the things seem natural and not, "What?!?!?! Where did that come from?"
This story is not for every one. It does have some non traditional relationships that may be not your cup of tea. I am looking forward to what Rane writes next. This book made me an official fan.
It is always interesting when a classic story is remade. The story of "Sleepy Hollow" and the headless horseman is not one I would have expected to become a romance. But here it is and I have to say I found this story wonderful. I had already read the previous story in this series so I knew that the author was able to craft well rounded realistic characters. This story was much longer than the previous one so I was able to see the author create a completely well developed plot. While the story seemed to take awhile to get to the main conflict the various subplots kept the story from becoming dry.
