From Hugh Howey's World of Wool... Book 2 in the best-selling "Rebel State" saga! The Brownell family and the other residents of the California silo have been locked underground for six months now. Life is meandering along -- people have jobs, go to school, eat, sleep, make love. Each new day is very much like any other, until a 12-year-old boy goes missing, and the silo becomes a whirlwind of fear, and worry, and for some, outright panic. All of which is being observed... by Silo One.
This is the second book in the Rebel State saga and due to the length even better than the first. Their is a third book due and hopefully Carol Davis will carry on developing the young fatherless family living on level 4 in the California Silo.
Rebel State is set in the immediate aftermath of the Silos closing their doors, book 1 is literally the first few days/weeks whilst this book is around six months. It is a simple story of how the Silo copes with a missing boy and how key Silo "management" cope with the crisis. Laura is great!!
A very good read and the three or so hours to read it will quickly disappear. If you enjoyed the original Wool/Shift/Dust books you will also enjoy this - strong recommend to read!!
