My favourite baseball manga is back. This picks up from where we left off in volume 15, which was in the middle of the semifinal game between Seido and Sensen Academy.
The semifinals between Seido and Sensen Academy has entered its middle stage, and Sawamura returns to the mound, trying to make up for the shame of having been kicked off the mound in their game against Yakushi. The match up between Seido vs. Sensen Academy comes to its great climax.
Sawamura endures his baptism by fire and triumphs over Sensen which sends Seido into the finals. At the end of the volume we are introduced to a new character who is a master of the knuckleball. I love how this manga does a great job of taking the reader into the mechanics of how baseball is played. The art does a great job at showing how knuckleballs wobble all over the place making it very difficult for batters to hit.
For baseball fans, Ace of The Diamond is a must read.
