‘I know it’s selfish, but I don’t want you to go,’ Daniel said, a couple of minutes later.
I looked at him and smiled.
‘I’ll be fine, I will.’
‘You’d better be. I don’t know what I’d do without you. Those months I stupidly spent apart from you… they were torment for me,’ he said.
‘They were torment for me too.’

As the Christmas season is ripped apart by the news that Jess’ old friend Alex has been turned into a vicious killer, festivities are dropped, Jess returns to England and the hunt begins. But Alex isn’t the only one being hunted, for Mary has found a way to extinguish the entire bloodline of Malden witches, and it is Jess’s book of shadows that’s the key. As things hot up, Jess finds she must leave Daniel and the safety of Manchester in a final hunt for her nemesis, Mary. In a fight-off that only one of them can survive, loved ones will fall… daemons will rise… but who will survive?

I absolutely love this series! The characters are so real to the reader that you are swept right along with them on their adventures! I love that there is just as much dark as there is light in these books, adding to the reality of the story. There is no fluffing over the hard parts and, as a reader, I appreciate that authenticity. It's what makes a paranormal fantasy wonderful, that air of "it just may be possible" about those things that exist outside our own world.

There was so much suspense in this installment that I couldn't stop turning the pages, even when I had other things to do. I just had to know what was going to happen. There were twists and there were turns. The twists had turns and the turns had twists. One moment I would be scared, the next on the verge of tears. And then I'd be giggling. Daniel, Jess, Eve, and Brittany are four very different characters and they each resonated with me. Alex was the most tragic character in this one. Her story was one that tugged on my heart strings. I even found myself feeling for Saffy, the rather bitchy cousin of Jess whom I thorough disliked before this book!

I am sad to have this series come to an end. I feel like I know these characters and I have come to love them. The author says that there may be more shorter stories in the future. But, at least for now, it is over. :(

Things to love about WitchHunt...

The characters. They are so realistic, flaws and all.
The suspense. Half the time, I didn't know which way was up and I loved that!
The reality. The dark, the light, and everything in between
My recommendation: READ, READ, READ! If you haven't read the rest of the series, those need to be read first. The first novel is only $.99, the rest are $2.99. The short story is FREE!

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This is the fourth and final book in the WitchBlood series. I loved it!

Jess James is a fabulous character. She is one of the strongest (emotionally and physically) heroines that I have come across in a book. She has grown up a lot from the first story, and is a very powerful opponent - being a vampire and a witch. However, she has to face an even more challenging mission - tracking down her best friend.

This story hooked me from the first page! I struggled to put the book down! I must admit that I have missed these characters, as they have become friends. Even Saffy has grown on me, as she finally accepts Jess's mixed vampire/witch status and dials down the jealousy. The coven of vampires are a formidable force, but a coven of witches are just as deadly! Jess has a foot in both worlds, which comes in handy when you have a deadly foe after you. Mary is insane with grief, and has a plan that could mean the end of the Malden coven line. With lots of twists and turns, the story unfolds. I was a little disappointed in the storyline with regards to Alex, and (I am trying not to give anything away here!) I would have liked a different outcome. Nevertheless, the daemon at the end of the story certainly revved up the adrenaline factor! As this is the final book in the series, it is a bittersweet tale for me, but I am looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

Emma Mills has written a fast paced story that flows beautifully. It is also a masterpiece of originality. I have never read anything like it before.

I highly recommend this YA Paranormal Romance if you love stories with vampires, witches and angels. - Lynn Worton

This series has developed so beautifully, and WitchHunt ends with an amazing conclusion. The characters really come into their own in this series finale, especially Jess. Her growth and reactions are expertly crafted, creating a book and series that should be a must read for paranormal lovers.

Emma Mills' descriptive narrative really helps to build the level of suspense in WitchHunt. It was a real struggle not to race ahead to allow my heartbeat to decrease. Fortunately, I held back enough to savour the final instalment, and I'm so pleased I did.

With a lovely mixture of humour, tension and romance, WitchHunt is my favourite of this series.

I've read this series over the last couple of days and I've had a mixed reaction to it, I liked the first book but not so much the second then the third was better but I must admit I was disappointed with this one but since most of the reviews are fabulous I'm putting it down to me.
My main problem is that when I start reading a book like this, and by that I mean one where I know the characters and the set-up, I always imagine what will happen, what the final outcome will be and who'll be left standing, it's not something I consciously do but I do it none the less and in this case I was right, no shocks or surprises it just went the way I expected, it's not often that happens so when I'd finished I felt disappointed and a bit deflated I'd wanted more.

After putting it off for so long - deliberately trying to delay the inevitable - I finally gave in and read the final book in the WitchBlood series. I couldn't help myself, and what a fitting finale it was for this fabulous series, even though I am now a little sad that it's over. Never again can I read it for the first time, but I don't doubt that there will be a second time.

This series has definitely improved but I think it's because Emma has improved as an author. The writing is better and the mc has really improved with time to become a force to be reckoned with.

Bewitching!!!

I loved this series, the storyline was great, the characters were realistic and the plot was well thought out, to the point that I read the entire series twice and I'm not usually the person who reads books more than once!
I recommend this series as I thoroughly enjoyed reading all about the murder, magic and mayhem that exist in a supernatural world!!

This series just keeps getting better and better, when I think it's given me everything it has and then it throws me a curve ball and I am onto another aspect of the story. Can't believe there is only one one book to go.

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

I have been very fortunate to have read all of the WicthBlood novellas, thanks to the author Emma Mills. I received a copy of the first novella WitchBlood for being the 50th person to like her page Witchblood the Novel on Facebook back in Feb. 2012 and now she has over 1,000 likes. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking this wonderful journey with Jess, Daniel, Eva, Brittany and all of the characters in the series and with Emma too. I am very heartbroken to see it end but I have been uplifted by just knowing that there will probably be some short stories in the character's futures. I can't wait to see what Emma has in store for us with the short stories and all of the other novels that she will be writing.

In WitchHunt we kind of pick up where we left off with Jess in WitchLove with Jess still in America with her family and Coven of witches. She has gotten her witches licensee and is now a full-fledged witch. (Way to go Jess!) Jess is a half-witch/half-vampire. Being half vampire makes Jess stronger than other witches which gives her an advantage to her magic at times. Jess likes being In America with her family but her heart and place is in Manchester, England, United Kingdom with Daniel, the love of her life and soulmate. Jess is called back to Manchester to help in the hunt for her bff Alex. She has found out that her enemy the woman/vampire that wants her dead has turned Alex into a vampire. Jess wants to save Alex from this woman, Mary but she doesn't realize that the way Alex has been taught by this woman that Alex will never be her bff ever again but Jess must try. She can't nor will she give up on Alex without giving it a try. She believes in Alex and will be her bff until the end.

So Jess returns to Manchester and with the help of all of her friends Daniel, Eva, Brittany, Luke among others they all go on a man hunt for Alex and Mary. They need to take Mary out if Jess is to have any peace and get to live her life without having to worry about someone trying to take her life away from her for something that is not her fault. Luke and his father are trying to find Mary and they allow Jess to come along with them in their hunt but Daniel and Eva are not allowed to go with them because it is out of their territory. Vampires cannot go into other vampire's territory it is very disrespectable not to mention you may get your head chopped off for it or something like that in other words. Daniel doesn't like this one little bit, no way does he want to let Jess out of his site but he knows he has no choice. Jess promises him that she will come back to him. Jess delves into some black magic as a last resort only when fighting with Mary. She will only use black magic if it is the only choice she has. Like if her life or any of her friend's lives are in danger.

I was very sad to see Jess lose her bff Alex with all that she has been through and all of the people that she has lost in her life as a human and now as a vampire but she has gained a new bff with Brittany. She has a new life and a new boyfriend now so I guess it is only fitting that she has a new bff to go with her new life as well. I am glad that she has found all of these new people to help her with dealing with her life as a vampire and that she gets to be a good witch and vampire. I am really going to miss all you guys.

Ok now I have a few questions for you. Have you read any of the novellas in the WitchBlood series? I hope you have said yes but if not then my next question is WHY, WHY, WHY? (Insert pic of me here with my month hanging open.) Seriously folks you do not know what you are missing out on. The WitchBlood series is one of the best series that you will ever be fortunate to lay your hands on. You need to go right now and pick up a copy not only the first book but you will need a copy of all four plus the Novelette of Genevieve's or Eva's story of how she became a vampire. Genevieve (A WitchBlood Novelette) is Free on Amazon.

Well here we are, the last book in the series. I’ve been lucky enough to read every book so far, and it’s been a hell of a ride. WitchHunt does not disappoint, that’s for sure. Emma Mills has definitely kept up her steady pace of action, drama and mystery to pack a final punch in the world of vampire-witch bybrid, Jess.

In this final book we saw the return of the main characters. Jess, of course, and Daniel and Eva. But also Brittany and the coven from the States. The angels were included too, along with meeting some new ones. Mary, Cole’s sister, is back too – and she is pissed off in a big way. Since the majority of these characters have been with us virtually the whole way, I won’t go over them again. But I definitely love them, and I feel like they have really grown over the last four books. The actual time table for the story is under a year, but so much has happened it really feels like more.

One thing I like about this series is that in each book there are multiple big things that happen. It’s not all just leading up to one climax and then its over, but rather a veritable rollercoaster. WitchHunt is a fun trip, and it definitely had more than its fair share of nail biting moments. There are some instances where I wish that the story went a little bit more in depth, a little more detailed. I felt like some of the very awesome action scenes were a bit rushed through. I did have to go back a couple times and read a page over to make sure of what has really happened in the story.

Jess and Daniel really get quite closer in WitchHunt and I was super excited for it. I really love them as a couple, and I was glad that this book did not really focus so much on any struggle between them. If you are looking for heat, it’s not really there. Their behind the doors love is behind the doors. However, there are some definite sensual moments leading up to the hidden moments.

Overall there was a lot happening in this book, it’s one thing right after another. But everything flowed together and it was an exciting book to read. I think if you enjoy YA paranormal, then this is definitely a good book. WitchHunt had a bit more gore, I think, than the others in the series. It even had a few more 18+type situations. But hey, Jess is getting older and I think it’s great that the series has grown with her. So if you were to ask me if I recommend this series, it would be a definite yes. It’s definitely one to start with the first book though, don’t jump in mid-series.

I'm 24% done with WitchHunt: " 'More a recognition of the fact that you've finally put out!' " (Eva) "Its not funny Eva... She made me wait so long I thought it was going to drop off,' Daniel said grinning " REALLY? REALLY REALLY REALLY so so so so inappropriate. Like that is not OK, implying pressure is not okay and promoting it in a book. Weird

So overall I did like this book, I thought that the male characters interacting with the female characters could do with some work. I just think the above part and others I haven't written down, didn't add anything to the book. And it actually spoils it a lot for me. Before anti feminists start accusing me. I don't feel that what the passage said above is OK. Considering I have been in that situation myself maybe it hits home more. However if it was a girl doing this to a guy most people would be like wow hes weird he didn't want to have sex with her, guys always want sex. Whereas no one has battered an eyelash with a guy doing that to a girl. That shows me we either see that a lot in books (its a possibility) and therefore are accepting of this behavior or Sex is just so important to some people it has to be in the book a lot otherwise it doesn't count. I'd be just as horrified if this was the other way round.

It has actually put me off reading more of her books because this is a theme I found a lot in these books. Whether the author was going for a 'we can't keep our hands off each other' a lot like another vampire book... OR she was going for shock. OR she doesn't see that passage as being stupid. I did mention this in a previous review (book 3) and talked a little about Daniel's personality but it was a little bit worse here. Maybe it signify Daniels arrogance as a vampire. I don't know I'm going to stop going on about this now. breathee

Other than that, if you look past how some of the interaction is, the book is pretty good. Its funny the interactions between Eva and well anyone. She lightens up the book a heck of a lot especially in this book and its pretty easy to read through this book within a few hours.

I wish Jess wasn't so wimpy. She just moans constantly. poor Daniel this poor me poor Daniel. Boring.

Alex, what happened there? Its as if Emma was like 'hmm I need a sub villain to act out evil things for Mary' and then nothing happened. There wasn't a need, it was clearly a loose end tier. Not anything to do with the story as such.

Although any type of ending can be bittersweet, I find that the end of a beloved book series typically provides far more of the bitter than the sweet. This wasn’t the case with WitchHunt, the fourth (and final) installment of Emma Mills’ outstanding “Witchblood” series. While there’s plenty of romance and drama to satisfy the most voracious YA fan, the non-stop action and thrills will satisfy audiences hungry for more (myself included!).

WitchHunt begins a few months after the mind-blowing conclusion of WitchLove. Mary and the recently turned Alex seek revenge on Jess, while our favorite vampire/witch and those closest to her attempt to enjoy the end of year holidays, whirlwind vacations, and major milestones.

Along the way, I loved the many pop culture nods, particularly to “The Terminator” (although “Pride and Prejudice” would’ve been better as “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” lol). I also enjoyed lines that one simply doesn’t expect to read too often, such as “The kids had gone home for their tea” and “If she is as charged up on angel blood as you say, she could easily overpower you.” However, my favorite line was one that would feel right at home within my own Vaempires novels: “With a final crack and a sickening ripping noise his head came free and he slumped to the floor.”

And with that a**kicking scene firmly entrenched in the reader’s mind, Emma Mills brings the series to a satisfying conclusion. Nevertheless … I’m a firm believer of never saying never, so I’ll hold onto hope that WitchHunt isn’t the last we see of Jess and co.

Well done!

I highly recommend the "WitchBlood" series to YA, paranormal romance, and even light horror fans everywhere.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

All things considered, Jess has always been pretty level headed, but now she is really coming into her own through this book. I'm proud of her. We know she was always a witch, and it's like she was always meant to be a vampire too. It becomes her, and she's good at it. We get to know some of the other characters a little better through this book as well, which is very nice because you get an idea as to why they may act the way they do. SInce this is the fourth book, it's tough to give too much detail without adding a spoiler for those who haven't read this series yet, so I'll keep it short and sweet. By the way, if you haven't read this series yet, What are you waiting for? This book had me on the edge of my seat at times, and snickering at other times. WitchHunt wraps up the series very nicely. I can't think of a single loose end that wasn't tied up. As I've mentioned before, Emma Mills is a wonderful storyteller. As you read, you can truly envision her characters, and the places they go and the things they do. Her words draw you into their world. This has been a wonderful and unique series! I'm sad to see it end, but I'm happy with how it ended.

It is always hard to say farewell to a beloved series. It often also hard to read the final book because of the worry that you won’t like the ending and it won’t do the series justice. You don’t need to have those worries with WitchHunt.

The ending is very satisfying and ties up all the loose ends from the previous books into a perfect little bow. It is a shame to say goodbye to these characters and this world but the book does end in a way that means it could possibly be revisited in the future if the author chooses to write more books. (Fans can cross their fingers and hope.) Personally I would love a book or two about Britt and what she gets up to next. That girl obviously can’t stay out of trouble!

My only slight disappointment is how things ended with Alex. Not only was it not what most people would have liked but it felt really rushed and I simply wanted more.

Overall this is a great end to a fantastic series and if you haven’t yet read Witchblood then I highly recommend you do!

First Thoughts: This has been a fantastic series, I have fallen in love with each character and I am so sad that this is the end!

The Story: As with the previous books in this series Witchhunt is so well written and it just grabs you and doesn’t let go until you get to the very last page.

The Characters: Jess, she really came into her own this book. She has finally come to terms with being both witch as well as vampire and she is making the best of it. She is also just a kickass female character who doesn’t need any protecting that it was so refreshing to read.
Daniel, I have definitely had my issues with Daniel, he was such a jerk in the previous book, but this book redeemed it a little bit… although I don’t think I will ever get over what he did to Jess in the past, I can deal with it if she can.

Final Thoughts: This is one of the most satisfying ends to a series that I have read. It ties up and answers every question you may have had throughout the 4 books. Do I want more? Of course I do! But I was happy with the ending and I think Emma did a fantastic job!
