Chandra was fresh out of high school, when she met Malik. Despite their twenty year age difference, she quickly fell for the older, charismatic gentleman, who swept her off her feet with money, lavish trips and promises for the future.
After dating for only a few months, he proposed. Against her parent’s wishes, Chandra accepted, believing that her Prince Charming could do no wrong. Directly after their honeymoon, Malik changed, and not for the better. He became more aggressive, controlling and abusive…nothing like he was before. Taking everything in stride, Chandra did everything she could to make their marriage work, but nothing seemed good enough. He continued to abuse her, sometimes to the point where she was fearful for her life.
Will Chandra wise up and leave her violent husband, or will she become another fatality in the world of domestic violence?

Can't believe what I just read . Chandra is a straight up ass with no backbone. I'm screaming right now I can't believe Malik was such abusing ass . I'm running to read part 2
Chandra was still a teenager when she met Malik. She had goals and dreams that she wanted to accomplish before meeting him. Malik was much older than Chandra and she was ok with the fact that he was older because he accepted her just how she was and encouraged her goals and deams. They traveled, talked and got to know each other in a way Chandra felt she never know any other man. When Malik asked her to marry him she was thrilled and despite her family not being happy for her she accepted the proposal. Shortly after the honeymoon The man Chandra once knew was gone and Malik had changed into a controlling, abusive husband. He dictated what she wore, how she wore it and where she went. Everything she did or planned to do had to be run past him. Chandra is convinced that the reason Malik acts this way is her fault and she plans to always make her marriage work by any means. Will Chandra be able to face reality that her once happy relationship isn't going back or will she did trying to get Malik to realize there love?
Author Catchet has done it again. This book will have you with tons of emotion. It was like you felt bad for Chandra but then you think she is stupid because your like why are you sticking around, run for your life. I was shaking my head at her yelling at Malik. Malik is a piece of work! He will make you so angry! The things he did to his wife would make anyone upset. This book opens your eyes some people may look like they gave if all together and inside they are hurting due to various reasons. I don't want to give anything away from the book but I will say its a must read and if you have been a victim of domestic violence it may be hard for you to read. Can't wait for part 2! Please don't keep us waiting too long.

Miserable Matrimony is a quick and powerful story. Mental and physical abuse at the hands of a spouse.
I have never been through an abusive relationship before, so I cannot say " I would have left, or I would have done this to him, or done that." A Person never knows what ones would do until they are in that situation.
This book will leave you with lots of emotions. October is National Abusive month. This book left so many emotions with me. I felt like I wanted to reach out and help Chandra.
A question I have is: If you knew a family member or friend was being absivise would you help, say something? If you heard your neighbors fighting and her screaming night after night, would you call for help for her? How would you feel if a family member or friend die from an abusive relationship and you never offered help?
This book would make a great discussion. Some would say some women won't accept help or some will say they are not abusive.
I enjoyed reading this book. Miserable Matrimony by Cachet Johnson is a good book. Cachet Johnson did a good.
Likes: I like the concept and vibe in this book. Cachet Johnson take her time to writing for this book. I also like that Chandra's sister has a sense and protect to Chandra. Also, her parents are trying to tell Chandra about Malik.
Dislikes: Malik is a controlling, aggressive, abusive and taking advantage of Chandra's life. He is not good husband to Chandra. He doesn't care about Chandra's feeling.
Chandra is a good woman but she choice the wrong man who is treating her like shit. She doesn't deserve to be treating like that. I almost ended up crying about her because she doesn't speaking for herself.
Recommended: I would recommend this book to everyone because this book is really good but it's sad and emotion at the same time.
Rating: I choose 10.5 stars rating because this author and this book deserve 10.5 stars. It's really sad and emotion because anyone doesn't deserve to be treating like this.
I'm looking reading another book from this author. I'm looking for reading part 2 of this book.
Wow What a Page Turnet, October 3, 2013 By Mrs G "AVID READER" (BALTIMORE MD) This review is from: Miserable Matrimony (G Street Chronicles Presents) (Kindle Edition) Cachet put one hell of a story to paper. It was a page turner cause I was so hoping that Chandra would wise up and realize her husband being an abuser was no fault of hers. I felt her frustration and pain while she was going through it. This book shined a big light on Domestic Violence and what women go through who's in such a relationship. Kudos Cachet bringing such awareness to this ever evolving problem.
Omg moments is all I have to say. This thing girl turned her life upside down to phase a man that had to many issues and have lived his life already. The years the pity, the hurt, the abuse mentally and physically. Oh wow Chandra you are stronger than I am cause his insiders would have been eating away and his ass would nut have known why. Lol excellent read...can't wait for part 2
Chandra been through a lot with Malik. Man all the sign with Malik was right there Chandra just wasn't paying attention. Sometimes parents know best Chandra. I do not like that controlling bastard Malik, bastard you were the reason why niya hand up like that did you forgot. Wow this book felt so real and very sad, this book was though to read. Hope there's a part two.
This book is so good! I could not put this page turner down. I've never ever met a deranged lunatic like Malik. He had such a good thing but his anger & ignorance messed that up! I am ready 4 part 2!!!
I don't usually read books like this, but I needed something easy to read. Wrong! This book was heart breaking. She married too soon and too young. Her rich prince turned into something else.
All I can say is wow!!! The things some people are willing to go through in order to keep their marriage together. I was mad with Chandra for not taking her parents and sisters concerns into consideration when they were trying to look out for her and had her best interests at heart. Malik is beyond crazy!!! To be someone older I felt like he preyed on her because she was much younger and he could groom her how he saw fit. Some of his reasonings for what he did weren't justifiable and he did it because of the power he got from it all. The more Chandra kept blaming herself and making excuses, the madder I got! Many couples find themselves in similar situations regardless of which one is actually the abuser. It's crazy how one has no problem causing problems to the person they claim to love but once they've finally had enough and are ready to leave, they don't want to let them go. This was my first read from the author but I must say I throughly enjoyed it and hope Malik gets just what he deserves!!!
Fresh out of high school Chandra thinks she has found the one in the much older Malik. He showers her with all the love and affection that should could ever want. However, as soon as the "honeymoon" phase is over Malik begins to show his true colors. There is the physical abuse, the mental abuse, and the emotional abuse. Will Chandra be able to free herself from Malik's stronghold or is stuck in this deadly relationship?
This is my second book by Cachet and I truly enjoyed this book. This story was a true eye-opening subject matter which made it very difficult to read. I so wanted to yell at Chandra many times and I wanted to tell Malik how I really felt. This book brought out many emotions in me.
Malik was a Damn FOOL and Chandra was just as crazy for letting him beat on her like she did. When he beat the baby out of her she should have left him then. And how could another woman stand by an see her get her butt beat like that and not notify the Police. Her Family said that they knew that he was beating on her but yet they didn't do anything to help her. People wake up Domestic Violence is real if you think or suspect someone is getting Abuse Please help. Cannot wait to see what happens in part 2
This book made me sit my kindle down. Chandra is a young girl who ends up in a relationship with a man that is 20 years older than her. Malik seems like he has it all going for him. He is a psychiatrist and has a very successful practice. Everything between Chandra and Malik was going great until she said "I do". Chandra is so in love with Malik that he can do no wrong. I really enjoyed reading this book. I will go on and read the sequel to see what will happen next.
This was a really good read. In the beginning I felt sorry for chandra. But as time went on I didn't. She stayed with a man who beat her on almost a daily basis. He beat her baby out of her and she still stayed. After all he continued to do to her by abusing her verbally and physically, cheating is what made her want to leave him. That's why it was hard for me to feel her pain. Getting abused is far worst than being cheated on.
Cachet did it again, another great book that i highly recommend, she told this story so good I felt like I was there with these people. I so badly wanted to help Chandra but that's all I'm going to say I don't want to ruin the book for anyone else. Can't wait for The Deadly Divorce to see how this story will end.
I chose to give this book a 5 star rating because it was a very good book. This book is a must read. it will have you mad, sad, and ready to fight. This was my first time reading anything by this author, but it will not be my last!!
Fast paced, and deadly!!!! No marriage should be this bad. It pays to listen to others and check out the history of the person that you are trying to be with.
wow is all I can say. This book had me feeling some type of way. I cant believe Malik treated Chandra the way he did and I cant believe she stayed. This book had me wanting to throw my kindle. About to start Deadly Divorce right now......
The whole time I was reading this book I felt mad and irritable. The husband was so horrible that I almost stopped reading it. I made it to end to find out there is a part 2... I have to take a minute and re-group before tackling next part.
