Dish #4: Into the Mix - Diane Muldrow (2002)⁣
Terjemahan oleh @grasindo_id 2004, 168 halaman ⁣
Genre : Middle Grade
Rating dariku 3.5⭐⁣

Buku seri Dish ini bercerita ttg frienship, coocking, eating, talking and life. ⁣

Friendship : 5 gadis midle school (SMP) yang punya bisnis memasak, terdiri dari si kembar Molly dan Amanda Moore, Shawn Jordan, Peiche Cheng dan foe to friend mereka Natasha Brooklyn.⁣

Coocking : Yup, walau baru kelas 1 SMP mereka sudah punya bisnis memasak, berawal dari kursus memasak yg mereka ikuti saat liburan musim panas. Dish (nama bisnis mereka) menerima orderan memasak untuk orang lain. Tidak banyak, tetapi gadis-gadis itu tidak mengecewakan. Bakalan ikutan Master chef junior la kalau sekarang mereka ini... 😂⁣

Eating : Yeah... Suka masak pasti suka makan sih... ⁣

Talking : Mereka suka banget kirim-kirim email, teleponan dan nongkrong bareng. Iyalah... Tahun 2002, masih itu medianya. Sekarang...?? 😅 ⁣

Life : Mempertahankan Dish disela-sela kesibukan mereka masuk sekolah menjadi konfliknya.

Yah....⁣

Are you in Middle School struggling? The genre of this book is realistic fiction. This book is awesome for kids that are struggling in Middle School, by getting to class on time, trying out for clubs and sports, and by sticking with their friends from elementary.

This book is about a group of girls who are best friends, with their own cooking business called "Dish." This was their summer job, but now they don't know what to do because they want to keep on going, but they are all too busy execpt for Molly, once they enter school. Once they enter, all of them have classes together, and make many sports, but Molly. Now, they have to try to focus on school, on their clubs, and on their business! The main conflict was person vs. society, because all of the girls had to take care of everything.

The third person point of view affects the story because it doesn't give us information on about how each character feels. Foe example, we wouldn't have known how Molly felt when she didn't have any classes with her friends and when she felt left out, so we had to figure it out. We wouldn't have known if the story was written in first person by another person. The title relates to the book a lot. It does, because the title is "Into the Mix" and this represents how these girls are in such a mixup, with all of the responsibilities they have. The narrator would be very unreliable. It would be unreliable because she isn't part of the story, and she doesn't know how each character feels. Therefore, she can't give us information on their feelings.

I really liked this story. I think that it was really good because this can be relatable for any middle schooler. I liked the way the author wrote this book because in each chapter, it mainly focused on one girl and what they were doing. This gives us information about all of them. An interesting thing that I learned about this book, is to try to keep your friends no matter what, and to learn that your friends can have other friends too.

I would probably rate this book a 4 out of a 5 because it was a really good book, but it wasn't the greatest book that I've ever read. I would recommend this book to a middle schooler, who is barely starting, because this book can teach you bad things that can happen, but it can also show you that everything always turns out great.

I really enjoyed Into the Mix a lot. I would recommend this book to my friends that are interested in girls running their own business. I can almost relate to the book because of my extra circular activities that I do and always being busy.

The book Into the Mix is about these girls going into middle school that have their own business called Dish. As the girls get more involved in extra circular activities they don't really get to see each other any more. Dish brings them closer together after they drifted apart. School is taking over the girls lives but they some how find away to still help with Dish. When Molly's grades start to drop she can't really work with Dish, but she can't say no to a client. Once the girls find out away to work Dish and go to school everything turns out how to be just how hey planned.

I think this is a good book for my girls. I followed a group of 5 friends who are entering middle school. They have a cooking business, which gets put on the back burner as they each find their own place in middle school. The story progresses well and the girls learn a lot about dealing with each other. Not the best literary work for kids, maybe, but definitely a safe read!

Definitely would have been better if I read the first 3 books, but it's easy to figure out what's going on. A pretty accurate look into what middle school is for a group of girlfriends!!!
