Sassy, smart, and sexy, former supermodel-turned-tech guru Rubi Russo has it all—looks, money, confidence and freedom. Her life is a whirlwind of fast cars and fleeting affairs—and she likes it that way. With a past like Rubi’s, forever isn’t part of her vocabulary. So when studly Renegade stuntman Wes Lawson wants to take their friendship to the next level, she’s all out.

Raised a simple country-boy, Wes knows the brazen Rubi isn’t his type. But after spending time with her, he discovers she’s everything he’s ever wanted in a woman. To win her wild rebel heart, he’ll have to prove he sees behind her smokescreen to all the goodness she tries to hide. Then it’s just a matter of crushing her fears, shattering her barriers, and convincing her that loving him is everything she’s been missing in her life, too.

Piece of cake.

4.5 I'm craving chocolate ice cream stars

She was in deep, deep trouble. Because she wanted him more than she wanted to turn him away.

What can I tell you about this series aside from Skye Jordan is the queen of steam. Holy hell but the woman can write one hell of a sex scene. I thought book one was hot, but let me tell you; this book? SCORCHING
I wasn't sure how I felt about Rubi and Wes after the last book. Wes is a Southern good ole boy that likes his girls sweet, and Rubi is the furthest thing from sweet or demure as you can get. Yet somehow, they worked. Not only that, but I fell in complete and utter lust with Wes. The man was just everything with sprinkles on top. I just want to lick him. Everywhere. Is that so wrong? But I digress.
Wes and Rubi have a scorching undercurrent of attraction running between them. Rubi is determined to keep them in the friendship zone since she knows she's not capable of a relationship. With a childhood like hers, I can't say I blame her. In short?

But Wes is determined to pour even more gasoline on their already flaming attraction. So knowing that it's inevitable for them to finally give into to it, Rubi comes up with a plan; friends with benefits.

Now many of you may be wandering

Well if the health insurance he provides her with comes in the form of his perfect cock...then sure...let's call it that.

This book had one of the HOTTEST scenes I have ever read in a book this year. I will never again be able to look at chocolate ice cream without getting a hot flash ever again.

Seriously Wes, my lady boner is in full salute to your utter sexy deliciousness.

You may be a nice southern boy but you're a rebel deep down. Ha! See what I did there?

But I digress again.

Where was I?

Ah yes.

Wes

Did it work? No? Damn!

And back to business.

While Wes was utter perfection, Rubi had a moment...or 2...or 3...OK a few, where I wanted to punch her in the ovaries for being so stupid. Her back and forth of running away from her feelings for Wes did grate with me quite a bit. While I understand why she was the way she was, it was hard to accept it with how perfect Wes was.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the second installment of this series. It seems to just be getting hotter and hotter with each book. We get to catch up with Jax and Lexi and see where they are in their life, which was nice. And Rubi did redeem herself at the end, even if it was at the very end. But ultimately, Wes just made this book for me. I loved the hell out of him.

I can't wait to see what Skye Jordan has up her sleeve next and which yummy Renegade we can look forward to. Hopefully the heroine will be Rachel. I really enjoyed her quirkiness in this book.

4 BE MY REBEL STARS.

description

Sizzling hot, dirty talking, heart stealing here comes book two of the renegade series ... This author without a shadow of a doubt hits the bullseye for books that are full of steamy, passionate liaisons. Sky Jordan's Renegade series is one that i'd gladly label as the 'perfect escape' novels with just that touch of trouble in paradise and smutty loving to make it all one desirable package, Here are the rest of my 'Rebel' book thoughts ...

What's it all about?
Rubi Russo is a woman who has so many walls built around her heart, she allows no one and nothing to break down the barriers. She lives her life in the fast lane and has never believed or hoped for love, that is until Wes Lawson drops into her life, her attraction and friendship with this man is almost instant and she can't help but fight against the connection and future that Wes offers to her. Wes Lawson is as attractive as he is dangerous, his heart is as big as his longing for the elusive Miss Russo, if only he could make her believe that they belong together everything would be perfect. But with an abusive, neglectful past standing in the way of happiness, we find out if their love can stand the trials of each others heartache. Rebel is a scorching hot tale of finding happiness against all the odds.

What did I love?
I can't pass the opportunity to describe the winning ingredient of this novel, it has to be the sexy, sexual tension. When I say it gets the blood pumping and heart thumping I mean every word, the first 40% of this book was boiling hot. The friendship and attraction between this couple was so believable and exciting that I knew I i'd love this couples journey. For those readers that like their books to have lots of steamy dialogue and interactions then look no further, Wes and Rubi will have you glued to the pages with lusty longing. So while we are on the subject of the authors characters, Wes and Rubi I'll talk a little about them. To start with let's have a think about Wes, what a loveable character, he is manly whilst remaining sweet and lovely, and he has a sexy edge coupled with a love for family life. To say I adored his character wouldn't be enough, everything about his love and care made me melt, he has the perfect combination of sexy as anything with a pure sweet side that made me melt, he could do not wrong in my eyes, he went after the woman he loves with abandon and I was won over. Moving onto Rubi, now I know this character has her flaws but I couldn't help but sympathise with her dilemmas I think the author made a brave attempt at describing a character that has had her fair share of difficulties and for the most part I think I understood where the author was leading the storyline. Rubi had a good blend of sassy and vulnerable and I thought the couple were a overall writing success. Other winning qualities of the novel included enjoying having another glimpse into the lives of Jax and Lexi from book one in the series and I'm most excited to learn more about the other 'Renegades' in future books to come, the author leaves enough tidbits of prospective characters to keep the reader interested and I'm certainly signing up to read the rest of the series. I also enjoyed the comradarie between the characters and the sweet, funny, sexy and dirty dialogue that the author created. Overall the book combines sexy, romantic and heart felt all in one novel and although it didn't hit my five star buttons it certainly has enough to make it a loveable four star winner.

description

Why not five?
As much as I loved Wes and Rubi's story the balance was off for me, in short there was too much deliberation, indecision and drama and not enough of the happily ever after. After getting to the last page, I felt short changed and sat holding my kindle thinking "where is the rest?". Skye Jordan, creates stories that make me sit up and take notice but this time round it started full boil, had a satisfactory middle and ended on a slow simmer.

Final thoughts ...
Those that are looking for sexy with a full out storyline don't need to look much further than this series. Skye Jordan is a must click author from now on and I would whole heartedly recommend to those that like their romance stories full of the good stuff. Go grab it readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

4 Rebel Stars!

 photo c6a38985-70b0-4420-9d5f-6e9ffd54db87_zpsdb3f753c.jpg

Ever since I read ‘Reckless’ I’ve been waiting for Wes and Rubi’s story. Rubi and Wes have had this connection since they first laid eyes on one another. There was a pull there, a spark. Rubi grew up rich, yet alone. Neglected and ignored by her father, she has trouble trusting men. She doesn’t do relationships. Period. She won’t sleep with her friends and she doesn’t sleep with anyone more than once. But there is something about Wes. Something about him makes her want to break all her rules.

 photo be1761dc-1d6a-4cf6-913f-f63cc34655aa_zps6ef55cba.jpg

Wes grew up very differently from Rubi. He wasn’t as wealthy, but he has a family who loves him. He has grown to care for Rubi. He loves her friendship, but he wants more from her. He can tell she’s not ready for anything serious, so he comes up with a proposition...
“Let’s make an arrangement so you can get on with your day. If you need or want sex, you come to me, and I’ll give it to you any way you want it, anyway you need it.”

 photo 6c03734c-905a-4df6-9b85-0a122acedc50_zpsa4e2c0e6.jpg

Rubi knows having sex with Wes isn’t a good idea, but she can’t resist him for long. I seriously don’t know how she kept him at arms length for as long as she did. I don’t think I would have that kind of willpower! This guy is all kinds of gorgeous, sweet and sexy!

Wes makes it his mission to prove to Rubi that she can have a functioning relationship. They can keep their trust and friendship and it can develop into more. But Rubi is hardheaded. She’s lived this certain life for so long, it’s hard for her to accept change. It’s hard for her to believe Wes will be there for her and not abandon her. Wes knows one thing. He wants Rubi for himself and he wants to be hers.

 photo db6bc313-6fc8-494f-9afe-12d2e063aaff_zpscc24dfc2.jpg

Wes is a determined man. He is kind, spontaneous, playful, good and completely and utterly hot! This man is pretty damn close to perfect! I loved him! Rubi... The first half of the book, I had some issues with her. But really looking at where she was coming from and the things she had been through, her behavior was understandable. She’s a good person and she can be funny, flirty, and feisty. She is also very intelligent and I love that in a heroine.

Lets get to the best part of the book. I will never look at chocolate ice cream the same way again!

 photo fa83323b-a62c-4c8b-946f-b3df9a06b844_zps060cda80.jpg

This author has proved once again that she can write some smoking hot, erotic and all consuming sex scenes. I was not disappointed in the least with the steam factor!

This was an enjoyable read for me. I will never tire of reading about these Renegade men! Jordan’s books have a great mix of steam, humor, and just enough angst. As much as I liked it, I felt the ending was a little too rushed and I craved more of an epilogue. That's the reason for the 4 star rating. Still, I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!

4.5 Stars!!!
Skye Jordan has done it again, and I couldn't be more satisfied with Rubi and Wes's story. Just as in Reckless, this book starts off with loads of sexual tension, only Rubi's brand of sexy is definitely more on the fun and flirty and BLATANTLY sexual side. That's just who she is, and therein lies the road block to her and Wes having a real relationship. Because despite Wes' job as a living-on-the-edge stuntman, he tends to go for hometown girl sweethearts when it comes to women.
"Wes was a simple country boy at heart. Money didn't tempt him. He saw fame as a burden. He just wanted to have fun."

My Wes:

Rubi is the product of a horribly neglectful father and a slew of nannies. Her mother died when she was very young, and her sperm donor of a father never even made an attempt to pretend that he cared about his only child. Spoiled with money but starving for affection, Rubi has always been alone. Her one and only long time relationship is with her best friend Lexi. And despite how happy she is for Lexi to have found Jax, their relationship only magnifies her own state of perpetual loneliness. Rubi doesn't know how to love, and she has no desire to ever put herself out there like that.
My Rubi:

"You're living off a script you put in your head a long time ago, one that doesn't apply to who you've become."

I know that a lot of readers may be angry at Rubi because of her reluctance to be with Wes. However, I hope that they remember that the time frame for this book is pretty short. Less than a month, for sure. Imagine changing your core beliefs in that amount of time. ESPECIALLY after I met Rubi's awful father, I empathized with her much more. This girl really and truly has never known any kind of affection except from her best friends. In Hollywood, she sees mostly failed relationships and false promises, so its no wonder to me that the thought of a real, true, loving, lasting relationship has just never really crossed her mind.

Aside from Rubi's romantic hangups, she's such an awesome character. She's bubbly, she's flirty, she's fun. And Wes latches on to that like none other. He's built for lasting and long term, and I adored his persistence when it came to getting his girl. He just won't take no for an answer.

Which brings me to the yummy part: the SEX!
"God, I want to suck you," he murmured, keeping his fingers light over her pussy. Teasing. "I want to lick you. I want to eat you. I want to fuck you with my tongue. So good. It would be so good."

Welp! I'm done here....that's all I needed to be convinced that Wes is DA MAN! Not to mention one extra special scene (you'll know it when you get there) that nearly caught my eyes on fire.
"Oh, man," he breathed. "Say polar transmission and force sensors again. That fucking turns me on."

So the drop dead gorgeous and slightly nerdy Rubi and the drop dead gorgeous, risk taking country boy do the bonding thing, and this story takes a turn for the truly romantic. Rubi gets to see how a real, loving family acts, and Wes gets to see what molded her into what she has become. This is somewhat reminiscent of Reckless in that this isn't all about the drama and sex. There is a real romance here, one that has to go through some ups and downs and life lessons. Rubi and Wes are alike in many ways, but their differences ares still significant. They both have to figure out if they want to put the effort into what they are feeling and turn it into something more.

There are moments of funny.

A sweetheart of a dog. (I love you Skye, for having a part pittie as a loving pet. He reminds me of my dog, coloring and breeding and floppy ear)

Along with the California beaches and the Missouri farmlands in the Midwest. This was a well rounded story with real feelings and plausible circumstances. I love how Jordan writes...she's almost like a mix between New Adult and adult contemporaries...her work is polished and clean, her stories full and her characters likeable. This is knockout number two for me by this author, and I'm so happy to have another go-to author for sexy story with heart.
"Close your eyes, precious. I want to fall asleep with you."

4--Gah Rubi...REALLY?--Stars!!!

But....ugh! I just don't think I can rate this any higher than 4 stars....as badly as I want to.

Rebel is Wes and Rubi's story. We met both of them in Reckless...they meet for the first time during the airport scene. Wes has always been in committed relationships with sweet, wholesome women. Rubi has always been

Wes, Rubi, Lexi and Jax spend most of their time together so naturally Wes and Rubi grow close. They become really good friends. They both have stronger feelings for each other. Wes wants more. Rubi does not. She's afraid to cross that line. Afraid it will ruin their friendship. Afraid she will be abandoned.

Rubi, Rubi, Rubi, Rubi....

A fine speciman of a man like Wes wants you and you keep pushing him away.

I get it....Rubi has abandonment issues. I really do. Her dad was a
grade A Asshole!!! Seriously

Wes...Wes was freaking PERFECTION!

I think what frustrated me the most was that Rubi's denial went on the whole damn book.

I just wanted her to

I mean shit, if you don't want Wes there are plenty of bitches out there that do...namely ME!

Aside from that, I did like everything else. I don't think this book was as good as Reckless....but it was equally as HOT, if not more so.

I don't think anyone will ever look at chocolate ice cream the same again.

★★★★ 4 My Very Own Rebel stars!

Rebel by Skye Jordan is the second book in her Renegades-series and a perfect follow-up to its prequel Reckless. Ever since reading the previous book, I've been looking forward to Wes and Rubi's story. Just like Lexi in book one, Rubi is a feisty, independent heroine but even more so, Rubi actively works at pushing away anyone who come to close to penetrating her tough exterior. It was already clear that Wes was a bit infatuated with the exotic beauty, but will he finally be the one to break through and tame her wild nature or are they just too different from each other to ever have a future together?

For a while now, Rubi and Wes have been spending more and more time together. Their friendship has become an important part of their lives, but Wes had made it clear that he wants more. Rubi, on the other hand, is determined to never let it get any further. She doesn't want to lose him as a friend and her fear of losing him altogether makes her keep him at a safe distance.

Rubi Russo has a troubled past and family life that keeps haunting her and preventing her from trusting people and showing her true feelings. The fact that her own father never really wanted her and that he never showed her he cared for her, makes it hard for her to let anyone in. She doesn't do relationships. Ever. And she makes it perfectly clear to Wes that that's how it'll always be. So, he suggests an arrangement:

"Sex when we want to fuck and friends the rest of the time."

And well, let's just say that despite his "good guy" personality, Wes Lawson can be quite persistent and convincing when he goes after something he wants. Being raised on a farm with parents who weren't as accepting of his "Hollywood"-stuntman career he's had to fight his entire adult life to get to were he is now. He's used to having to work hard in order to achieve his goals and right now his goal is winning over Rubi's heart, body and soul. Even if the way to do it, is to just be "friends with benefits" at first. Rubi's indecisive nature did bother me at times, but I understood where she was coming from and during the second part of the book I started to like her personality and decision making much better.

I loved Wes! Maybe he wasn't such an intriguing bad boy as Jax, but his good old charm and warm personality more than made up for that. He's sweet, caring, funny and sexy as hell when he wants to be. I loved how determined and patient he was towards Rubi and how he never gave up on trying to make her feel wanted and loved. Oh, and let's not forget his noteworthy creativity with chocolate ice cream! ;)

"God, I want to suck you," he murmured, keeping his fingers light over her pussy. Teasing. "I want to lick you. I want to eat you. I want to fuck you with my tongue. So good. It would be so good."

Skye Jordan sure knows how to write some off the charts hot and sexy scenes! But that we already knew from Jax and Lexi's "sexting" in book one. Other than that, this book has humor and a little bit of drama, but overall it was a fun and entertaining read! We also get quite some scenes with the rest of the Renegades-brigade and of course Lexi and Jax, which made the story all the more fun to read. There is no cliffhanger and . Already looking forward to the next book in this series!!

Loved it.... 4.25 Rebel Stars

Rebel is the second story in Skye Jordan's Renegades series. It can be read as a stand alone but, of course, to get the full experience, of our cast of characters, it's advisable to read the series in order!!!

I love the glimpses of Jax and Lex that we're given. It was beautiful and gorgeous. Their happy ever after..… The trials they still face together… Lovely.

So, Rubi and Wes story.
They're the best of friends. They enjoy each others company, go out together and share common interests, intelligence, and a sense of humour. Now.... We know Lexi and Jax are a gorgeous loved up couple but what about Wes and Rubi??? Is it written in the stars for them too??? Fabulous friends, but can they make long term lovers??? Can they have a deeper, lasting relationship?

***

Rubi's been ignored and let down by her father time and time again, she has issues....

"She'd been operating under the one-night-stand-only guideline for years...." She wanted to be attached to no one, then she couldn't get hurt.

She's the player, which I find kind of refreshing!!!

So, she's a no commitment kind of girl, she's looking for sex only and she doesn't mix sex and friendship... No, No, No... That's a recipe for disaster..... Involves taking a risk... And could ruin EVERYTHING!!!!

Could the risk be worth it???

Wes sees the woman beneath the attitude; sees her beauty, the real Rubi under her layered, complex surface.

At times he was like a knight in shining armour coming to her emotional rescue. I don't always warm to characters without flaws but there's something about Wes, he captured my heart and made me swoon and melt...

Blonde haired... Stunt man... Super nice and Super sexy, fun-loving, Wes has a complete unit of loving family support around him, people who would do anything for him. Something Ruby has never experienced.

I found parts of the story extremely touching; it explores the important things in life… The characters have an understanding, an awareness…. You can have all the riches in the world, but it’s nothing without the love of family, friends, feeling wanted and safe. The family scenarios kept making me well up. It was truly lovely

And there are many parts of Rebel that are off the chart sizzling HOT!!!
"He was rock-hard, his cock throbbing to the quick beat of his heart."

I enjoyed those moments very, VERY much, know what I'm saying, ladies?!!!

Their sexual chemistry is delectable, it bounces of the page and made me believe in them, believe in their possibilities.

Could they come to an agreement?

Wes and Rubi are both very giving which makes for some crazy hotness ♥

This author has such a great way with words, painting a super sexy picture.

She sets up the perfect scenario to give us a sensual, titillating read, full of heart flutters and hope… When will they get it together properly...??? Body, heart and soul…??? Love it!!!

I think it's possible that Miss Jordan's delicious writing has given me the hottest BJ I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing on the page!!!! It went on & on.... Wowza, the scorch factor was off the scale.... He loved it, she loved it and my lady area LOVED IT!!!

“Her throat opened around him. Her eyes closed on an expression of bliss..... Wes was absolutely drowning in sensation.... His body felt as if it had been infused with champagne, every cell fizzing.”

There's lots of drama along the way, too much, unnecessary drama? Well, maybe??? But there were so many heart skipping moments… Moments that gave me the crazy warm feels… Heart melting and velvety. That I really didn't care about the unnecessary drama. A little epilogue would have made it absolutely perfect, but we're getting another book so I'm sure we'll see further glimpses of Wes and Rubi's story. This seems to be this authors style.

For those who love a gorgeous romance with lashings of sexual attraction and scorching erotic hotness you will inhale this series, if you haven't already. So go ahead and grab some sexy excitement with the Renegades series, you will surely love!!! I can't wait to uncover the next in delicious story. ♥

4 NAUGHTY-COUNTRY-BOY STARS!!!!!!

I’ll give it to you any way you want it, any way you need it.

Shy & Tabby Own the Wind

Skye Jordan has done it again! I really enjoyed Wes & Rubi’s story. I tried not to compare it to the first book because I liked the first book better, but that’s just my opinion. So by itself, this book was really great.

My Wes:

Wes is a sweetheart. He dotes on Rubi with love notes on her car and is strong enough to hold on when Rubi loses it. Rubi is afraid of commitment, for good reason. I understood her perspective. She wasn’t annoying to me. Yes, it takes her a while to straighten out her feelings for Wes, but I enjoyed how their relationship developed, especially once they were around Wes’s family and she could see how a real family could function.

Wes is a hotty hot hotty!!!! He’s a good guy, but not in an annoying type of way. I usually go for the bad boys, but I really enjoyed Wes.

I’ve discovered there’s nothing sexier than a sweet country boy turned naughty.

description

My Rubi:

Love the hair!

Rubi’s father does not love her….at all. And he’s not afraid to come out and tell her so. Rubi doesn’t feel bad about herself. She is a strong, independent, and accomplished woman. Unfortunately, he is her only family, and their paths have to cross more than she would like. I like that up until the start of the book, Rubi has matured so much from what she has been through. There wasn’t an annoying amount of angst that we had to live through.

I won’t disappear, baby. I won’t open that trapdoor and let you fall.

I really enjoyed Wes’s family. It’s not easy for me to enjoy the extended characters, and I found myself enjoying the book more once Wes and Rubi was around Wes’s family. Wes is really close to his sister, who is a psychologist, and helps Wes understand Rubi’s issues from neglect.

Of course, this is Skye Jordan, so the sex is SMOKING HOT!!!

can go so many ways with this...

Ride me so I can watch your body move? Nothing turns me on more.

Can’t wait for what Ms. Jordan has in-store for us!!!

4.5 Did Not Disappoint, Second in a Series, Friggin Hot Stars **** */*

Skye Jordan…. Oh, let me count the ways I love your new book, Rebel:

ONE:
As the second in a series… it is so easy to fall back on what worked in the first book. You did not do that. You took the band of characters we met in Reckless and just expanded and made them more endearing. You let us feel comfortable re meeting all of them and then focused carefully on Rubi and Wes, guiding with an artful hand as to where you wanted us to go.

TWO:
In the last book, you teased and tempted with sexy texts… leading up to a steamy hot encounter which had me wishing Jax would text me sometimes. In this book… you laid mental groundwork of chemistry and very hot interest but slammed us with the most graphically erotic dance scene causing readers to turn air conditioning on during the coldest winter. What Wes did to Rubi will be the basis of lady boners and wet dreams for years to come.

THREE:
Then if the dance scene wasn’t hot enough you provided readers with more inventive ways to use ice cream and drive cars…. I can only advise readers should make sure they have plenty of cleaning supplies and their car insurance up to date.

FOUR:
What is most impressive, though is how you laced so many emotionally strong details in this story. You provided the reader with all of the romance and terrific sexy times but what you did emotionally for me was huge. You created a situation where allowing one’s self to be open to hurt after years of neglect, possible. You explained through Rubi what it would feel like to think you were disposable and never loved. You created a father so vile, so innately cruel, it broke my heart. You presented a person neglected during their childhood, scarred; fighting to experience and recognize love from a man.

FIVE:
And Wes - what a man you gave Rubi…. Wes is just wonderful. Raised in a loving family yet he has his own issues to deal with regarding approval and feeling recognized. He was the little rebel of the family… with the brilliance to be whatever he wanted… they wanted him to be an engineer… he went out on his own being the racer and then stuntman. He experienced that feeling of family disappointment… but nothing like Rubi. He does feel the connection to her; she is wild, sassy, in control and he cannot get enough. He does not give up on Rubi… he works to side step all the pitfalls and landmines she has. The story is filled with examples of this and all of them make sense.

Doing more reasons will just become redundant and I will wear out my welcome. So I will just finish by saying well done Ms. Jordan. I really loved this book and the only reason it doesn’t have 5 complete stars is you left me without a more detailed ending…. I got what you did… I just wanted more…. So I will look for the next chapter in the Renegades series…. Hmmmm, I wonder who will be up next….

3.5 Rebel Stars!

Rubi and Wes have developed a good friendship with each other since they are always hanging around with Jax and Lexi. They are definitely attracted to each other except Rubi doesn't want to take that step past friendship to something else no matter how hard Wes tries. She doesn't want to be with anyone or have to rely on anyone.

After a lot of hard work on Wes's part, Rubi finally caves and knows immediately that she is in way too deep already, but he is relentless. He knows Rubi is somebody special, but he just has to convince her that she is worth the trouble.

My response to seeing the next installment to the Renegades series was pretty much.....

 photo fuckyes_zpsab19871d.gif

I mean Skye Jordan writes some awesome male hotness! Woot woot! Sorry to digress...on with the review.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Wes Lawson, stunt man extraordinaire on the Renegades Team, was immediately drawn to the feisty hot Rubi when he met her at the airport a few months back. Best friend to Lexi in Reckless, they've grown quite close. When Lexi hangs with Rubi, he inevitably is the fourth in the equation with Jax. Bummer deal is Rubi doesn't do relationships...and relationships is ALL Wes does. He's got a short list of women he's loved, all long termers. But Rubi's had issues with abandonment. Her mother died at a young age and her rich father always treated her like a messy inconvenience is his life. Everyone eventually walks out on her...her mother, father, nannies...so let's just keep things simple. One-nighters are simple, right? No harm, no foul. She works for herself, has very few close friends, everything in her life a calculated risk. Never taking a risk on her emotions. And that's exactly what Wes wanted her to do. But can these two who are so completely opposite in emotional needs and family history, somehow meet in the middle and make it work? Is it worth risking their perfect friendship for a roll in the hay? Wes says yes...Rubi, not so convinced.

I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK. When I saw the next installment of the Renegades series was out, I was quick to request the arc. The first book in the series, Reckless, Lexi and Jax, lit up the pages so I know Ms. Jordan wouldn't fail me! The chemistry between these two is scorching! The whole tug-of-war "I want you so bad but we just can't risk it" was crazy hot. You're begging your kindle for release!

 photo ladyboner_zps8e242efa.gif

Rubi, well, I have to say, there were times I seriously wanted to smack her. Wes is PERFECTION.. Hot muscled stuntman any women would die for, loyal to a fault, on his knees practically begging for Rubi and she's running scared. Are you kidding me? Gah!

 photo punchyouintheovaryanchorman_zpsc2da846d.gif

This book would be a serious five stars had Rubi not made me so angry. I get her abandonment issues...to a point. But enough is enough. Will she pull it together and grasp that piece of perfection that's Wes Lawson before he gives up on her? Read it and find out!

4,5 Rebellious Stars!!

This second installment tells us the story of Wes and Ruby. Yes, Rubi in rich-and-classy Lexie’s best friend and Wes in badass-stunt Jax friend and member of his team.
Their chemistry is definitely undeniable, but while Wes soon realizes that Rubi is the girl for him, Ruby doesn’t want anything else except a purely physical relationship. So, if we wants more, she can’t give him anything and insists on not wanting to ruin their “friendship”.

description

But Wes sees right through her and knows that what keeps her away from him, is her ghosts from the past that still haunt her every day.
And despite the fact that they both came from different worlds and they both have different ambitions and fears… he is decided to show her they can have a middle ground where both can be happy together.

description

I really liked this book. Way better than the first one, except for the fact that I loved Jax more. (What can I say? The sexting got me!). I loved to see more of him and Lexie in this book.
It’s a good story that left us wanting for more and if you taught the first book was hot, you don’t know what’s waiting for you on this one!!!

description

Rating: 4,5 Stars
Storyline: Good. A little predictable at some points.
Writing Style: Good and captivating. Third person.
Character Development: Good, but with little annoyances here and there.
Steam: SO HOT!

4 because of Wes stars!!

*Could have easily been a full five if not for Rubi and her "issues."

Rebel is the second book in Jordan Skye's Renegades Series. Like its predecessor, this book is scorching hot. Panty-melting, fan-yourself hot. And features two equally hot and gorgoues characters in Wes and Rubi. But the star of this book for me is Wes Lawson.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Jax was hot but in my opinion, Wes is hotter. Plus, he didn't have Jax's insecurities. Not only that, he goes after his woman with single-minded determination. But what I liked more about Wes is that he's stable and centered and he knows what he wants. He wants the ONE. And apparently, (although I don't agree with him), Rubi is the ONE.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Fortunately, as cool as Rubi was in the first book, she didn't endear herself to me in this book. In fact, she annoyed the crap out of me with her insecurities and fears. I get it. She was neglected as child but she's also gorgeous (hello, top model), smart (very smart), and funny. But her constant whining about how she's so scared of committing to Wes because he might abandon her grated on my nerves. This girl had everything going for her and she's too blinded by her own issues to see it. 80% of the drama in the book came from Rubi's fear of commitment. That's it. She just kept on pushing Wes away and I was like...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I know, I know. I'm not entirely being fair but the girl had so much going for her but her issues drove me crazy. Hence, the reason for one less star. While she did redeemed herself in the end, I felt that her issues were drawn out to the point where I was just over it. Annoying heroines are a deal-breaker for me. If it hadn't been for Wes and the fact that this book seriously hot, I would have rated this lower than a four.

So Wes this is for you...

4.5 - I Love This Series Stars!

Rebel is a book, that I won't struggle to write a review about. I have literally "highlighted" about 50% of the text, whether it be because it made me laugh, made me sigh, made me a little hot, or just because the writing was so damn good I wanted to look it over again.

Wes and Rubi figured quite alot in Reckless, being both Jax and Lexi's closest friends, and because of that I was itching for more of them, and have been waiting avidly for Rebel's release. I want to thank Skye Jordan for generously providing me with an ARC copy, and as thanks I am happy to provide the below review.

If you enjoyed Reckless, I have no doubt that you will enjoy Rebel as much if not more. I generally get alot out of a series of books, I love how you become involved with all of the characters whether they be one of the main or secondary people in the story. I start to feel a part of the family, and like all families there are some you like and get along with more than you do others. I have no-one I dislike in the Renegades family right now and that makes the rest of this series(please god we get another instalment early in 2014) a must-read for me.

Rubi and Wes are meant for each other, and although not necessarily singing from the same hymn sheet for most of the book, they do eventually realise that together they work. Rubi's reluctance is mainly due to commitment and abandonment issues, and Wes from believing he is meant to be with a different type of woman. Wes wears his heart on his sleeve, and as such isn't afraid to tell Rubi what he is feeling. Rubi, who is still trying to find her heart, tends to try and hide behind her cocky, and ballsy attitude.

I loved seeing both of their vulnerable sides, and the book being written in both POV, gave both of their characters more depth because of it. Wes isn't your typical country boy, and I liked the little "kink" Skye added to his character. Rubi could have gotten pretty annoying with all of the emotional shut-downs, but again Skye provides you with such emotional writing, that when you are in Rubi's head you are willing her to push past her fears, and take that step towards what deep-down she knows she really wants.

I laughed alot reading this book, whether it be situations - doggie Ice cream comes to mind immediately for that one. Descriptions - "He had great legs - all three of them." And some of the double-meanings that were thrown out were priceless, I will never use or hear the word "rig" and think of it in the same way ever again.

I could now go quote crazy, but to finish I want to leave with one of my favourites that got me pretty hot under the collar (warning swear words have been left in) -

Rubi - "Are you just going to stand there and stare?"......."It's kinda...rude."

Wes - "Would it be less rude to throw you down on the table and fuck you?"....."Cause I'm fully equipped and extremely capable."

I can highly recommend both Reckless and Rebel, If you are looking for something funny, hot, heart-warming and just a generally bloody good read. Look. No. Further.

4 star I think

We met Wes and Rubi in book 1. The spotlight is on them now as they move from friends to lovers.

Wes only does commited relationships. Where you gonna find a guy like that?! He was rediculously perfect and the notes he wrote Rubi. Aww!!!

If that were true, baby... I'd have done you by now

I was hoping this book would change my opinion of Rubi since book 1. If anything I dont like her even more. You know the type, fighting the attraction running, jumping to conclusions, running again *sigh*

Great sexual tension and the sex scenes were steamy hot! A good sequel, only let down was the heroine x

5 melted chocolate & panties stars

ARC received on behalf of Season Publishing from NetGalley.

Remember Rubi? Lexi’s best friend with abandonment issues who was a little over the top and completely scared shitless of commitment, well she’s back. She’s nowhere near normal, but that is one of thing things that is driving Wesley Lawson crazy.

There’s no doubt there is attraction, but Wes has started to become a good friend to Rubi over the last few months. Worried that bring sex into the mix would ruin everything, Rubi continues to deny the heat that is building between these two. Rubi’s never known unconditional love other than from her best friend Lexi, her mother died and her father was as absent as they come. A relationship with Wes beyond friendship will just make it hurt that much worse when he abandons her too.

Wes has always gone for the sweet girl next door, paper-perfect marriage material. But when Wes meets Rubi he can’t help but be drawn to her. She’s feisty, she’s a little out of control and she is absolutely nothing like the girls he has ever dated. Wes is slowly starting to realize that he has been searching for the right girl in all the wrong places. Now he just has to convince Rubi that they can be friends and still have hot-sweaty sex. All the while as Wes slowly starts to break down the fortress that Rubi has built around her heart.

Okay, so let’s just start with saying that this series is fucking hot. The Renegade boys are panty-dropping-swoon-worthy-sex-on-legs book boyfriends. Although I felt that this fell a tad bit short than Reckless, this was one hell of a romance.

Rubi was slightly annoying in the way that most insecure with love & feelings, heroines can be. But it wasn't enough to put me off of her completely. She was completely scared of pursuing a relationship, but she did take the leaps when needed, even if she second guessed it seconds afterwards.

And the sex. THE FUCKING SEX!
There were two scenes in this that completely had me ready to hump the nearest male. First the club scene, holy hell. And just when I thought that could not be topped, I was proven wrong. Chocolate ice cream has never been more of a turn on. I was not prepared for the panting that happened when he turned her pussy into his very own ice cream sundae.

Skye Jordan has one hell of a series on her hand with these boys. I loved how we continue to see Jax & Lexi’s relationship move forward along with the rest of the boys, ensuring that we are all impatiently waiting for their story to be told. Her writing style is strong and her characters are completely lovable. I have a feeling Rachel will snag her very own Renegade down the road and that she might end up being the aggressor in the situation.

3.5 - 4 ★'s

Sexy Renegade stuntman Wes only does relationships and hot ex model tech wiz Rubi only does one night stands. How can Wes get Rubi to change her mind without her worrying about losing their friendship?

description

Who doesn't love a friends to lovers romance? And I think one of the things I loved was that they are both best friends to the H/h of the first book so that meant we got a lot of Lexi and Jax as well.

But to be honest, it took me a bit to get into the book. I hate to say it but it was too much about the sex! I kept waiting for it to get into the story and it took a while. It wasn't until Wes went home that things got really interesting. And the dual POV certainly helped.

Rubi is an interesting character. It was nice having a bit of role reversal as far as the one night stands go. But it was hard finding out why she did that. I loved seeing her come out of her shell.

Wes was very sexy and lovable! He did so many sweet things and he tried sooo hard! I LOVED the notes! He definitely gets brownie points or make that Triple Chocolate points!

Rubi and Wes' scenes are pretty steamy. I was always busting up about how Wes couldn't control himself. I thought he would for sure crash when they were in the truck!

description

I didn't care for the whole "Missy" drama especially Act II. It just didn't ring true that Wes would do that when he has worked so hard to get things right. I also wanted Rubi to get a little retribution!

There were some great secondary characters. I really enjoyed getting to know Wes' family...most of them were really great! Rubi's Dad is a big time jerk though...I hope she has nothing more to do with him. I loved Rodie though and it was sooo cute when Rubi thought he was sick!

I thought the ending was a bit abrupt! I NEED more!! Hopefully, we'll get more in the next book. Speaking of the next book, Ricochet, I have no idea who it's about but I'm thinking Rachel or maybe Troy? or Rachel and Troy together? hmmmmm....

“I’ll be anything you want… as long as I’m yours.”

High class, confident, sassy and smart, Rubi has everything she has ever wanted; fast cars, no string relationships and all the money a girl could ever ask for. Seeing her best friend Lexi settle down the Hollywood bad boy, tugs on something in her, something she refuses to feel...but sharing her best friend with Jax and the rest of the Renegades puts her right in Wes sights and this too good to be true cow boy makes her want things, no matter how much it scares her.
He was done with this all-flirtation-no-action shit. They’d been building up to this for two months.

Wes sees through the mask she puts up in front of everyone, making him want her more; he doesn't do temporary and she doesn't do permanent, so what is he supposed to do ?!? Take her as she is and try like hell to change her mind.
“I know this freaks you out, so let’s keep it simple for now —sex when we want to fuck and friends the rest of the time.”

Rubi hides her insecurities better than most and sometimes those hurts and pains never really go away, impacting the most rationalist decisions. He can't fault her, but does he fully understand how far those scars run deep???
“I won’t disappear, baby,” he said after a long silence. “I won’t open that trapdoor and let you fall.”

Rebel was another tasty addition to the Renegades series, Rubi and Wes were two rebellious souls in their own rite. It's a bit refreshing to see the tables turned where the heroine is the one with the commitment issues, and seeing how far the Hero will go with to win her over. I honestly liked the first book better, only because of the story accompanying it. I love my females strong, and while Rubi had her moments, her insecurities made her weak. Wes was a sweet alpha man, not willing to back down but you can tell he was just as clueless in their relationship, being it was so new to the both of them. All in all it was a still a good read and I'm looking forward to the next book.

*The books don't necessarily have to be read in order, but if you want the full effect the first story flows into this as we follow Lexi and Jax's story.

Rebel was an incredibly steamy and wildly entertaining read.
It had just as much panty soaking scenes as the first installment in the "Renegades" series.

I have to say that Wes, at the moment is my favorite Renegade.
He's gorgeous, passionate, extremely dedicated to Rubi, and hot damn this man can work magic with chocolate ice cream.

All I can say is this book had me feeling like this throughout...

 photo horny1_zps5b36553b.gif

The scene at Stilettos...my oh my!!
Wes has a bit of the freaky deeky in him!! LOVED IT!!
AND just don't get me started on the chocolate ice cream scene.
That's the reason why Wes is my #1 Renegade now!!

Rubi was a bit annoying.
Her inability to commit to a relationship is what makes for the angst. But when you get more of her family history, you see she has severe abandonment and "daddy" issues.
So we have to cut the girl some slack.

I really enjoyed reading this one but felt like I needed more.
Seeing as Jax and Lexi were present throughout this one, I'm hoping we get glimpses into Wes and Rubi's future as well.

"I'm sorry, baby. It's just who I am. I love everything you hide and everything you don't. I just...love you."

"But I couldn't, because the fact is that you are to me what Lexi is to Jax--everything I've always hoped for and dreamed of all in one mind blowing package."

5 with whipped cream on top STARS

Fast cars, even faster bikes, puppies, ice cream and a seductive dance between two friends who want a lot more than friendship from each other. Need any more reasons to read this book? Oh, well...here you go:

I'm so blissfully happy I don't even know how to process it. One thing is for sure the Renegades boys are on my all-time-favourite-feel-good-and-make-me-smile romance book list - with whipped cream on top. It's a brand new list, btw. Very little competition.

“I’ll never look at Triple Chocolate the same way again.”

At this point I have an almost unhealthy obsession with this series but still...I regret nothing. Ms. Jordan writes some panty melting sex scenes, she has a way to make sparks fly out of the book or even put your kindle on fire (mine was actually dead halfway through the book...I'm guessing overheated) and on top of that she writes just lovely romance stories that make your heart melt. And did I mention strong female characters? Yeah, she does that as well. No mindless wimps in this book.

“Oh, man," he breathed. "Say polar transmission and force sensors again. That fucking turns me on.”

In Skye Jordan's first book Reckless, Wes and Rubi played a big part as Jax and Lexi's best friends. Thanks to that relationship they start to spend a lot of time together and become fast friends.

But if you remember that first meeting in Reckless you might also recall the shameless flirting, funny banter and out of this world chemistry between these two. Well, let's just say...they take it to a whole nother level in this book.

Rubi Russo is a highly intelligent woman; she is feisty, knows what she wants and takes what she needs. She used to work with Lexi as a model when they were younger, but now she owns a ...well I guess you could call it a computer firm? Rubi is a genius when it comes to programming. She develops apps and other little helpful things.

“It’s easy to screw around with people you don’t care about. There’s nothing at stake. But playing that game with someone who fills a special place in your life? Someone who could leave a hole in your heart if he vanished? That’s a huge risk. Even more so to a woman who is extremely sensitive.”

She is also the daughter of Rudolpho Russo, a ruthless billionaire business man who never really cared for Rubi. For him she was a mistake he had to endure and take care of.

A negligent father, a dead mother and fear of abandonment dominated Rubi's whole life until Lexi came into it. I love how Ms. Jordan portrays their friendship. They go through ups and downs and there is not a thing in this world that could destroy this relationship. Also, Lexi is a very good hobby shrink and sets both Rubi and Wes on the right path on more than one occasion.

“I’ve discovered there’s nothing sexier than a sweet country boy turned naughty.”

Wes Lawson is a country boy, with a southern charm, a degree in engineering and a knack for motorcycles. To his family’s dismay he decided years ago that his life needed more adventure than a desk job somewhere in Missouri. He is a rebel. Well, what do you know...that's just how I like my book-boyfriends.

That is how he becomes a stuntman, befriends Jax, works for the Renegades and eventually meets Rubi in her blood red Ferrari! Good times all around.

Did I mention that Wes likes Rubi?

Well, now you know. And the feeling is actually mutual...there is only one little problem... Rubi only does one-night stands. Oh dear. Commitment issues.

But fear not. These crazy kids have a solution for the problem:

“Sex when we want to fuck and friends the rest of the time.”

Yeah, right. Because friends-with-benefits always works out just fine for both parties. LOL.

Despite this somewhat cliché idea Rubi and Wes actually have a really complex relationship. They respect each other and cherish the friendship they already established, so neither wants to compromise that with a wrong decision, but when a harmless look sizzles like it does between Wes and Rubi...no hearts stay intact for long. ;P

And who would have thought that Triple Chocolate Swirl Häagen-Dazs is the answer to all problems?

“I’m gonna get you naked...and I’m going to taste every inch of your body...and I’m going to make love to you until you beg me to stop.”

I feel like I need to make myself clear one more time. This book is scorching hot and you need to read it ASAP! You can thank me later!

Wes Lawson aka Golden Boy is a stunt driver for Renegades. He is so far my favorite Renegade! He is the perfect combination of sweet and sexy. Wes grew up in a big loving family. He really is an all around great guy! He is used to dating the same type of sweet girl. He likes to be in a relationship, and is the type of guy that is honest and real about his feelings. He meets Rubi Russo, & she is nothing like any woman he has ever dated, but is everything he wants!

Rubi Russo aka Precious is a wealthy tech girl who is kind of self centered and a loner except for her friend Lexi. Rubi grew up with a father who didn't show her any affection or love, and therefore is a person who is closed off from others, and doesn't let anyone near her heart. She does one night stands and casual sex. She wont take a chance on letting anyone hurt her or leave her.

Rubi & Wes's best friends Jax and Lexi are a couple, so they end up spending a lot of time together. Wes and Rubi become fast friends and realize they really enjoy each others company. As they spend more time together they develop feelings for each other. They have always been extremely attracted to each other, but are starting to really care about each other, which freaks out Rubi who never had cared enough about anyone to be in a relationship. Wes continues to break down Rubi's walls and show her how he feels about her, and that what they have is real. I absolutely loved Wes, and holy hotness, that is one fine man! Such a fantastic yummy guy! This book was fabulous!!! :D

-A giddy, tingling lust tightened her insides. Eye candy always enhanced a girl's mood, and there was no better place to grab a little sugar than among the studs of Renegades. But she'd come to prefer the company of one stud in particular.

-Every last one of the Renegades she'd met was a kid at heart. A smart-ass, feisty, too-sharp-for-his-own-good kid inside a hot man's body. But Wes was the most mischievous, most daring and, by far, the sexiest of them all.

-God, he was utterly delicious.

-"I know this freaks you out, so let's keep it simple for now- sex when we want to fuck and friends the rest of the time."

-The thought of being able to have him, experience all his alpha sexiness and beta sweetness without ruining what they already had as friends- however briefly- created a delicious, twisty feeling in her belly.

-And she was in deep, deep trouble. Because she wanted him more than she wanted to turn him away.

-He lifted his head and met her gaze. His eyes were the color of storm clouds, deep charcoal gray. This skin over his cheekbones had gone tight, his lids heavy. He was the most beautiful man she'd ever known.

-"I've discovered there's nothing sexier than a sweet country boy turned naughty."

-"I'll be anything you want...as long as I'm yours."

2.5 Rachet Rubi Stars

Straight up, didn't like this near as much as Jax and Lexi's book. So the series continues on now with Rubi and Wes, Rubi is Lexi's BFF and Wes is one of Jax's stuntmen.

Wes be like hottie..
description

And Rubi be like, well I be like to Rubi...
description

Cuz..
description

So yes folks, another cray cray ass heroine with daddy issues. So yes folks, that leads to her pushing a friends with benefits situation with Wes. And yes folks, which leads to mis-understandings and all that nonsense. It was way too much back and forth. I loved Rubi's sassy pants in the 1st book and she was still somewhat sassy but the back and forth just killed it for me.

Like seriously up until 90%...
description

And then
description

It just ends after she figures her shit out with like 3% too spare.
description

This author knows how to do the steam, but this was a dud for me thx to Rubi. Wes was awesome, and it was great to see Jax and Lex again but even those parts couldn't make up for Rubi in all her indecisive glory. Wah.

Book two in the Renegades series is yet another smart and sexy read, brimming with great banter and sensational UST.

This time focussing on Rubi and Wes (respective best friends of Lexi and Jax from Reckless), they are already great friends, although with a simmering sexual tension underneath their friendship that is obvious to absolutely everybody. They have a great, flirty relationship, and take great enjoyment out of teasing each other at every opportunity.

“Are you just going to stand there and stare?” she asked. “It’s kinda…rude.”
His gaze drifted up and met hers. Those deep-gray eyes were heavy lidded and on fire. “Would it be less rude to throw you down on the table and fuck you? … ‘Cause I’m fully equipped and extremely capable.”
Rubi’s grin spread. “You definitely have no self-esteem problems, do you?”
… “Give me a few hours alone with you, and I’ll let you tell me if I should develop some.”

Both of them are extremely crude and flirty, and both have dirty mouths, but there is a bit of a shift in the ‘usual’ dynamic with this book. In a pleasant role reversal, Wes is a good guy who only does relationships, and is looking for a commitment, and Rubi is the one slutting it up – interested only in one night stands whenever and with whoever she can get them. She’s had a hard upbringing, and has some MAJOR commitment issues. The two of them are wildly attracted to each other, but with Rubi’s ingrained fear of feeling anything for a man, she isn’t willing to try anything with him.

So when Wes, desperate for any kind of relationship with Rubi that he can get, offers a ‘friends with benefits’ situation, she initially turns him down. But he is one persistent dude, and when the UST reaches a whole new level of epic, she can’t refuse him any longer and holy freaking hotness, the chemistry explodes!

“Let’s make an arrangement so you can get on with your day. If you need or want sex, you come to me.”
She pulled in a breath. “Dream on, Lawson. You are not--”
He lowered his head and pulled her bottom lip between his. His tongue slipped over the flesh before he let go and murmured, “And I’ll give it to you any way you want it, any way you need it.”

Skye Jordan can write one hell of a steamy love scene, and Wes and Rubi are really hot together! Based on the beginning of their ‘arrangement’, I was expecting there to be a lot of sexy time in this book, and while there is a healthy amount, it’s definitely not overdone. But what is there is really steamy, and tied in really nicely with the developing emotion between the two of them.

Wes is freaking AMAZING! He’s sexy and dirty, but he’s such a good guy! He has a huge heart, he’s intelligent, he’s funny, and his feelings for Rubi run deep. He even sends her flirty text messges and leaves little notes on her windscreen every morning *melt*. I absolutely love him!

“I’m crazy about you … I don’t want anybody else … I’m sorry, baby. It’s just who I am. I love everything you hide and everything you don’t. I just…love you.”

Rubi’s kinds of issues can be really irritating in a book, but I like the way that it was handled here. And although Rubi is initially reluctant to get involved with Wes, her struggle is really well written, and she doesn’t fight her feelings too hard. Add to that Wes’s determination to do whatever he can to make Rubi comfortable, yet still show her how things could be between them, and their relationship is gold right from the start! They’re pretty open with each other, and although there are a few miscommunications, they are resolved quickly, and it’s all relatively angst-free and painless for the reader.

We get to meet the rest of the Renegades boys – an elite team of Hollywood stuntmen and a “dynamic group of adrenaline junkies”, and I look forward to getting to know them better in future books. There’s also a bit of time spent with Jax and Lexi, so we get a little bit of further progression on their story, which is great. And it gives me hope that we’ll see a bit more of Wes and Rubi in future books of the series, because I thought this book ended a bit abruptly, and would have liked to have seen a bit more, but I’m sure it will come.

With work and family dramas added into the mix, there are a few other plot threads running through the story, and it all links in nicely with the romance to give us a really great read. It’s fun and sexy, with a nice amount of emotion. I really enjoyed it.

4 stars.

2.5★'s - I am in the minority here, it seems a place I find myself sometimes. I am not all that fond of being here but it does happen. So first, let me get this out there before I write my review. I need to state that I love Skye’s writing. I love her romance. I love her Alpha men. And from the top of my lungs I will scream I love her sex scenes. They are scorching hot. They are original and panty melting, breathtaking, gotta stop and get a hold of myself perfection. This book just reinforced that. So, because of all that, this review is going to hurt me to write. I look at my rating and my heart hurts. Here goes.

There was a part of this book, a lunch scene, and very behind the scenes like, the food was delivered and Wes put fries and a side of ranch on Rubi’s plate and Rubi took pecans off her salad and put them on Wes’s plate. No one said a word, it wasn’t even a thought in their heads, it was like it didn’t happen. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL and I knew right there that this was going to be a great book. These two people were truly besties. They were going to open their eyes to everything and fall head over heels in love regardless of fears and obstacles. Maybe the fact that no one called them out on the food exchange or that they didn’t even think to themselves about it should have been a clue. To me, this one scene in the book was monumental but it was brushed away like it didn’t happen. My God, now, I wish that scene never happened. That scene told me what this book would be like. It told me that it was not the only beautiful moment I was going to get. I knew with every single page that I read I was going to love this book. Regardless of what annoyed me I knew in my heart that I was going to hit the point in the book where none of the annoying would matter because the relief I was going to feel when it all came together was going to erase everything else. I kept thinking about that lunch and knew that somehow that was going to be remembered and be a moment of realization. I kept reading and kept waiting for it. Finally, walls came down and it was happening. I now couldn’t read fast enough and then, well, then something happened that made the one person in the book who WAS NOT annoying to me become “the bad guy”. And really, with what happened, they were a very bad guy. Right where this book should have been nothing but rainbows, flowers, freaking Unicorns and I love you’s but instead it just came to a screeching, I can’t give this more than 3★'s and live with myself, stop. That one scene ruined the entire book for me and made the character the complete opposite of who they were. It confused me and made me very angry. It became so much worse than the annoying I dealt with through the book. What happened after that just dug the hole even deeper. So, sometimes the annoying can be overlooked by the amazing and sometimes, it just can’t, especially if that amazing just doesn’t come. After that, the ending was so abrupt, I didn’t believe it, feel it or really even want it. It was like reading about two different people. It was too quick, too easy and just not them. I almost missed the annoying.

I loved the first book. I just went back and read my review and realized I had the same issues with that book as I did with this one, here is a quote from that review: “Now let’s talk about that missing ½ ★ You know we gotta get some drama and some angst and boy did we. Give me a little and I love it, drag it out and I just start to get annoyed. I got where it was coming from and was accepting of it until it just took too long and I started to get a little annoyed. I completely related to Lexi but it just was too much. She needed to open her eyes and open her mouth! Throw in a rushed ending and it went from a full on 5★ read to a solid 4.5★’s.” Ok, I can tell you, I could have copied and pasted that exact part into my review for this book, change Lexi to Rubi and bam, all is good. Not the case here. That book for some reason, held some sort of redemption in it that this one did not. That one got 4.5★'s and only lost a ½ for what annoyed me, this one just plummeted. I honestly think if what happened in like the last 15-20% didn’t happen this book would have also gotten a 4.5★’s, easy.

We can’t love them all and really, I enjoyed the book as a whole but the ending just ruined it for me.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book and honestly, I look forward to more in this series and from this author.

Well, I found a new book boyfriend and his name is Wes Lawson. He is pretty perfect. Even with his limited faults. Seriously. Rebel blew Reckless out the water. Wes and Rubi's story is so good. Passionate, funny, witty, real; you will devour Rebel. Ms. Jordan just comes barreling at you all the force of a tornado with Rebel, knocking you flat on your behind, leaving you breathless; just like Wes does to Rubi. Rebel is a story about a passionate friendship that knocks two people completely off balance and straight to each other.

Rubi Russo is a complicated, beautiful mess. I have read a few reviews where readers are frustrated with her. I didn't get that AT ALL. I envy Rubi in many ways. She's a stoic, independent, fierce woman. Rubi conquers life at full force living for her with such intensity and passion it’s remarkable especially given her background. Rubi is a poster child for female independence. She's also severely stunted emotionally. Conditioned from a very young age to take of herself and protect herself from love and stability, only associating these feelings with abandonment. Yet through that hell she's still grown into a stoic, independent, fierce woman. Who's also witty, brilliant, gorgeous, and fun. She's protective, sweet, and loyal to those that she allows to get close to her. I don't fault her for how she is or hold it against her. I have no idea how she managed to evade Wes's charm for two months, seems impossible. But I understand why she did it. Totally. She has never had someone step up to protect her; the emotions tied with such protection are completely foreign. As brilliant as Rubi is, emotionally she’s a wreck and has no idea how to navigate her feelings. I adore Rubi; feeling everything for her that Ms. Jordan intended for me to feel thanks to her colorful writing. Ms. Jordan flawlessly made me believe in Rubi; every beautiful, broken part of her.

Wes Lawson. I could seriously go on and on and on. He was the perfect hero. Literally sweeps you off your feet. It’s really interesting to me that Ms. Jordan created the perfect non-alpha. Wes is not constantly intense. He’s fun and carefree. Don’t get me wrong, Wes is all man. But he has this reserved confidence about him that makes him that much more alluring. Wes unnerves Rubi, unravels her in such a passionate way that I felt unnerved and unraveled myself. Wes comes at Rubi full force, crashing into her walls with every intent to completely obliterate them. Even though a few times he messes up doing it, he never stops trying. From the first time he speaks in the story telling Rubi "you're perfect" I was hooked. Wes is hot, passionate, and fun. He can make you forget what ails you, immediately flooding you with good, protective vibes. He is challenged by Rubi in the best of ways and he quietly begins challenging her in the most life-altering way. In his own way, Wes is unnerved by Rubi too. They start off as friends with the sexual tension growing tight between them. When he tells her she's his best friend, I melted. Wes tells her how beautiful and brilliant she is at the most opportune moments. Simply, just how Ms. Jordan describes his mannerisms or how his face changes when he sees Rubi ... seriously I just melted, that's the best way to describe the feelings Ms. Jordan is able to evoke. And seriously, the intimate scenes. Geesh, Wes does not mess around in the bedroom ... or the club ... or the kitchen ... or the car ... yeah you get it.

Jax and Lexi are present here too and it was fun to see where the two are headed. But Wes and Rubi are definitely the show stoppers. I love their story. The plot of their relationship is perfectly executed providing equal parts angst and passion in the hottest of ways. The passion they feel for each other is never put in question or jeopardy. Ms. Jordan's writing leaps off the pages and into your chest where you feel every scene, every emotion. I think Reckless is really good with Jax and Lexi, they just don't compare to Wes and Rubi. Rebel is one of those rare books that you love so much you just want to go right back to the beginning and start it all over again.

4 solid smoking hot WES Stars..yep all those belong to you and you alone! I really enjoyed book one of the Renegades so I was really hoping to not experience the let down! It would be easy to find annoyance and issue with Rubi, but honestly..I did not. I cannot say that I was a Rubi fan per se, but she wasn't a drama queen or a whiny crier... just couldn't drop her walls fast enough!

Rebel is super-model-mega rich-computer geek Rubio Russo's time to shine. She is the feisty, fearless flirt who first caught Wes's eye in book one. Time has elapsed for them to develop a strong easy friendship, only both of them are ridiculously attracted to one another.

I loved the flirty banter throughout the book, it was completely entertaining and I will say
thank you for the off the charts hotness with whipped cream and chocolate ice cream! DAMN Wes...just DAMN! I will say the majority of his read is anti-climatic. Rubi is all kinds of messed up which stems from growing up rich and basically alone. Her asshat of a father doesn't even care enough to dislike her, let alone acknowledge her. Her interactions with her "sperm donor" are pretty harsh. Thank God for Wes and his big beautiful bad ass heart! He is super sweet, attentive, and just solid...he refused to leave Rubi. His determined drive to make her his forever is a long haul but exactly what Rubi needs to "jump." This girl was in love from page one of this book, but having never had it, she had no idea.

I love a hot read with testosterone filled men who can love it up hard and good...so yes, this was highly enjoyable for me!

3.5-4 Stars review to follow
Got an arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review..loved book one so I am excited to give it a go..

I really enjoyed this book..the only reason it did not get a strong 4 star is the first book did and I missed the banter..the text messages between Lexi and Jax are what made me fall in love with book one.. This book missed the mark on the banter for me..not just because there was limited texting but the notes that he left on Rubi's car were cute but I didn't get the back ground of why.

That kind of sums up the book for me..there were holes to why things were the way they were. I feel like Jax and Lexi were brought in more then they needed to be and Rubi and Wes didn't get their own full story. I did really enjoy this book but left feeling like I wanted more. More story and more connection to the why they were feeling the way the way they were. Again it was a good read and could actually be read with out reading book one but as always I suggest reading them all together.

I loved the little bit we got of Rubi and Wes in Reckless, the first Renegades book. Rubi was sassy, sexy and free spirited and Wes appeared as that responsible friend but he still oozed sexiness. There was definitely a spark between these two and I was looking forward to reading their story.

Skye Jordan did not disappoint! Rebel was another hot, sexy and fun Renegades book.

Rubi and Wes have become great friends through Lexie and Jax’s relationship. Their chemistry was off the charts and the sexual tension between them was insane! Both of them were sexy as all heck and I loved the shameless flirting and funny banter that went on between the two of them.

When the story first starts out it is very apparent that they were fighting their desire to be with each other. The flirting, the touching, the looks were bringing both of them to that point of crossing that line. That proverbial “we can only be friends” line. Wes had come to terms with his feelings for Rubi and decided he needed to do something about it. And that something would be the proposal of “friends with benefits”, something he knew would be hard to convince Rubi to agree to. But Wes was willing to take whatever he could get from Rubi. He needed to have her in his life, whatever way Rubi was able to give.

Rubi was feisty, fearless and funny. She was also smart, loyal and generous. But behind all that was someone who didn’t know what it was like to be loved. Rubi didn’t have a loving family. When we learn of Rubi’s background my heart broke for her. The only caregiver she had was her father and he neglected her all her life. Rubi grew up without an emotional and loving connection to anyone. She never felt wanted. All of this spilled over into her adult life and Rubi didn’t trust easily and hard time dealing with her emotions.

Rubi did have Lexie. Lexie was her best friend and someone who loved her unconditionally. Lexie was always there for Rubi. She knew all her secrets and fears. But Rubi has watched Lexie fall hopelessly in love with Jax and couldn’t help but want that for herself too. But her fears ran too deep.

Wes was simply delectable. ❤. He was funny, playful, confident and very swoon-worthy. I loved the way he was with Rubi. His little notes, the way he would touch her, the things he would whisper in her ear and the simple looks he gave her melted my heart. He was that perfect balance for Rubi.

Finding their happiness wouldn’t be that easy though. Wes desperately wanted more from Rubi but she didn’t know how to give him what he wanted. This whole “friends with benefits” thing proposed to much of a risk for her. She didn’t want to lose Wes as friend and her only family she knew was Lexie and the rest of the crew of Renegades. If she crossed this line with Wes and it didn’t work, like all of her other relationships with men, she would be losing too much.

But Rubi has underestimated Wes and her ability to shut down her feelings. As the two of them begin to spend more time together both at Renegades and on a project that Wes has set in motion for his brother Wyatt, Rubi can no longer ignore her intense feelings for Wes. They share an extremely passionate and sensual night together and for Wes there was no turning back. Now he just had to hold on tight to Rubi and make her see that there could be and us.

Wes and Roxi were definitely a sexy as sin couple. The sex scenes between these two were HOT! The ice cream, whipped cream and shower scene ~ HOLY HOTNESS. But then the trailer scene, that didn’t disappoint either!

This was an enjoyable story. It wasn’t perfect and there were times when Rubi’s issues frustrated me. I understood where she was coming from but how could she not see how much Wes loved her. He was always so patient.

It wasn’t just HOT romantic book either. I loved the things that went on with Wes, Rubi and his family. It was fun to read and it was so great how they made Roxi feel like part of their family. Something she desperately needed. I loved meeting Birdie. There were a few scenes with her and Rubi that made me laugh out loud. There were alot of tender moments between Wes and Roxi that made my heart swell too. Here is a picture of one of my favorite moments.
