The Knights of Neustria's quest is clearer to Team Veritas now - but so is their understanding of the terrible enemy they are up against. People are going missing. No one at Station X is safe anymore. But there are still important truths to uncover. Which secret organization is protecting the work of the Knights of Neustria and do they know who is buried in the unmarked Shepherd's Tomb at Shugborough Hall? Will the story of the mysterious treasure ship 'The Covadogna' help the team of secret breakers discover more about the world described in the ancient coded Voynich Manuscript? And will every member of the team survive the race against time when the sinister Black Chamber chooses to leave them all a terrifying message?
3.3 These books are still a fun, light read, but the story is getting more and more convoluted and the connections the kids make to follow the clues, harder to believe. It's not so much code-breaking as it is pure intuition based on facts loosely strung together. On the plus side, those facts (not the connections the kids make up) are usually real, as are the buildings, places, characters, and background stories presented in the books, so you do learn some new stuff.
Oh my ... Wow. As soon as I started reading I was enthralled by this book. And at the end I was so on the edge to find out more ... Would never had expected Friedmans torture to be the way it was (hanging of a lighthouse !?!?!) and I loved the book

This book is a little heavy, not for the complexity is because the story I believe it could be part of some book not a complete book so the majority of situations take more time than it needed.
I am not sure why I am still persevering with this series as they are not getting any better or more exciting. I have actually forgotten most of the content of the first couple of books because it is just dragging on. They are fairly repetitive, dis-jointed and rather obvious. The big secret with Freidman revealed at the end of this story was one which i thought had already been revealed ages ago because it was so obvious. Kerrith is not a maniacal typical baddie, she is just a bit lame. The whole thing about the Bird-Flu epidemic was absolutely pointless as nobody else would possibly realize what they were up to anyway, it seemed to be just shoved in to try and make the bad guys seem more menacing. It didn't work.
I will have to read on to the next book to see if the others were worth all of the trouble but I seriously hope is the last as they are now getting tedious and irrelevant!
The entire series is starting to get very repetitive now. I don't think the plot has moved on since the first book (and this is number 4). At times I struggle to follow this so I don't know how younger readers are supposed to follow. There was a twist at the end but everyone had seen that coming for at least 3 and a half books!
