Every day I’m with Chad, I prove my dad wrong, that I can be loved…that I am loveable. So why is our relationship so hard? When we’re together on the dance floor or between the sheets, I pray for a small twinge of lust or something. I remember when his lazy smile sent my toes curling and my lower regions throbbing. Unlike the first book which was really good and emotionally intense, this book lacked the emotional connection I needed to actually like the characters.
From what I read in the first book, Noah seemed like a really nice guy. However, I didn't really find the spark between him and Carly. I don't know, it seems like a rushed plot for me. And there was a lot of pros and not enough dialogue. For example, I don't think they talked about her dad and how she needed to find her own future. There was no really closure for Carly's story. The interesting part was the parallel between her and Dalia for Noah. These two girls are so similar.
Overall, i wasn't a fan of this as much as the first. I hope the third one would be better..

I didn't like this one as much as Every Little Piece, but it was still a decent read.
I liked Carly and Noah, and i felt really sorry for them both. I'm glad they found each other.
The ending to this was good, but it would have been nice to see more of Carly and Noah's story, and see how their romance continued.
Overall, A decent read.

This is the second book in the ‘Second Chances’ series, but can be read as a standalone novel.
Carly believes that she is unlovable, all thanks to her dad who is still mad that Carly’s mom left him. She’s with Chad, because she knows that he loves her, and proves that her dad is wrong, but Chad just doesn’t light her fire the way he used to.
Noah is hiding a secret that is stopping him from getting on with his life, a secret that even caused him to drop out of college.
When Noah rescues Carly from nearly drowning because she was drunk and decided to go for a late night swim in the ocean, he knows there’s something special about her, and eventually they become secret friends.
Should Carly still be with Chad though? Does she want more than friendship with Noah? And what secrets are they both hiding?
This was a really good NA contemporary romance, and I really enjoyed it.
Both Carly and Noah had issues in this book, and both were hiding their secrets close to their chests. I would have liked for both of them to have stood up for themselves a little more, but it was easy to see why they didn’t once their problems were revealed.
I liked the storyline in this book, and I liked how it took a while for us to really learn the secrets that this pair were hiding. I liked how Carly and Noah both managed to find a way to each other, and both managed to eventually overcome the obstacles between them.
I liked the romance, even though there weren’t many purely romantic scenes, but I was surprised that there weren’t any sex scenes. The book flowed well though, and I love this author’s writing style! The romance was instead the kind of slow-building romance that you know will last forever.
The ending was good and happy, although I would have liked to have seen the couple happy together a bit more maybe.
Overall; a good NA/YA contemporary romance, recommended!

I was given a copy of Every Little Secret by Kate Ashton in exchange for an honest review. I read Kate's first book in this series, Every Little Piece, and absolutely loved it! I was not disappointed with Every Little Secret either! In book two, we get to learn more about two characters from the first book, Noah and Carly. I was very interested in both of their stories and was excited to learn they were the focus of Every Little Secret. Carly is the girl who is very misunderstood and needs to find someone who can be her friend and she can truly trust. She did not have a very nice childhood and has a crappy father who thinks she should always look the other way, never open her mouth and work for nothing. She finds the confidence she needs to both stand up to her father and break off a relationship with a not so perfect boyfriend, because of Noah. Noah was the star high school soccer player who's life was thrown into utter chaos because of one girl and her inability to stand up to her father. He swears never to be with another girl, ever again, until Carly. This book takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride and has to crying and laughing along with Kate's characters. At times you will be ready to shake some of them and want to ask what in the world they are thinking. Kate is an amazing writer who has the ability to capture your attention from the very first page every time! The detail her characters and their surroundings are described in are amazing and you will feel as if you are one with her main characters. Thank you Kate for allowing me the wonderful opportunity to read Every Little Secret and I cannot wait for Chad's story!

Not a bad story. He has a secret and trust issues. She has love and trust issues. With that being said, there was a lot of back and forth in their relationship. Hoping the next book is a little better.

I got hooked on reading from Sarah Dessen books back in the day. And since her books I haven't found an author who gets me quite as much as she does. But there is something about Kate Ashton's writing that is so similar and I'm definitely a fan. She takes the same serious and contemplative tone that Dessen has, but puts it into a New Adult setting and adds so much more tension and romance.
She also uses metaphors, which any good Dessen fan would enjoy. In this book the ocean kind of represents an ending and a beginning...almost like a baptism of sorts. It's really clever and refreshing.
I loved that both of the main characters had issues to work through. Their characters both developed so much, yet they grew together. There were times I wanted to slap some sense into Carly...and if I'm being honest...Noah too. But overall they were enjoyable characters that pulled at my heart strings. I think that's the main reason I gave this four stars. I just wanted them to stop being so blind about what they wanted and needed, but change is scary so I understand why they were hesitant.
I especially liked the ending. We get hint that book three will be from Chad's POV and I've already started reading it...I couldn't wait! I definitely recommend this to contemporary fans and it's really cheap on amazon right now so you should take advantage of that while you can! This is definitely an author to keep an eye out for!

History has been repeating itself for Noah. His relationship wit Carly is too similar to one he had in high school. I now understand what make Noah so gaurded and scared to have any happiness. Carly is still dealing with her awful father and setteling for bad relationships just to feel something. These secret friends finally save each other.

Love love love for this book!
I wasn't a fan of Noah in his sister's book, but here? Here we get to see it all and really fall in love with Noah and Carly.
My only beef? This book has a lot of the same repetitiveness as the first book in the series. So much back and forth and repeats. It gets a bit tiring.

This was a quick and easy read! I really enjoyed Every Little Piece, and Every Little Secret was just as good. It is not a stand alone, but could be. I can't wait to read the next!

Noah and Carly was emotionally charged. Not sure why Carly kept going back to Chad other than they were both broken. I felt the end of the book was rushed and we really didn't closure on Carly and her dad. But it was a decent read.

Great story about how lies can ruin lives. Noah and Carly are completely different in everyway but both have lies that can tear their lives apart. With a gripping story that makes you want to discover this book is unputdownable x
