Justice North is the face of New Species. Seeing him up close makes Jessie's heart race. He's the ultimate alpha male-big, muscular, exotically beautiful...and dangerous. Of course he's off limits. But then the sexy man purrs and all bets are off.

Jessie Dupree is a mouthy, fiery human female who brings out the animal in Justice. She wants to show him how to relax, and he's all for anything she wants to do, but Justice has sworn to protect his people and to take a Species mate. He's torn between the woman he wants and the oath he's taken.

Jessie knows a relationship between them probably won't end well; heartbreak is inevitable. But that won't stop her from freeing the wildness inside Justice and spending every moment she can steal wrapped around his hot body, making him roar with passion.

Reader Advisory: Each New Species book may be read as a standalone, but we suggest reading them in order to get the most enjoyment from the series.

I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.

I am becoming totally addicted to this series!!!

Justice is the 4th book in this series and met Justice in the previous books, I was so looking forward to his story and WOW…I just LOVED IT!!!
Justice North, breathtakingly gorgeous photo justicene_zpsdc0cbdd7.jpg and leader of the NSO (New Species Organization), is totally committed to keeping his people safe and will do anything for them even if it means him having to sacrifice his own happiness, which has made him feel very lonely and seeing some of his people finding their own happiness, has made it even worse.

Into his life blows Jessie Dupree!!!! Daughter of a pro-New Species Senator, who works in the human task force, that help find and rescue the New Species females that had been given, by Mercile Industries as sex slave gifts to their benefactors, soon turns his life into total turmoil. Funny, caring, sassy, kick-ass (hell, she can take down a few of the bad buys on her own……..)
 photo images_zps03f4a031.jpg

Justice can’t resist her!!! But he knows that it will be dangerous to get involved with a human female and he has always told himself that he would take a woman of his own kind to ensure that there would be no conflict between his people and humans.
Justice & Jessie are unable to ignore the feelings for each other, even if it means having to hide their attraction from others. She is the first woman that makes Justice feel at peace with himself….yes, some sweet moments like the massage Jessie gives him to the sensual and hot sex between them!!
“He hesitated. “We’ve been told we’re larger than typical males.”

Larger. She swallowed. “I can deal with that. Larger as in ‘just a bit bigger’ or as in ‘that is never, ever going to fit inside me’?”
Oh, did I mention that Justice does roar (okay, normal for a part lion/jaguar!!) but he also………… photo unnamed_zps6f4c55aa.jpg, YES, YES, he photo images6_zpsb8d21c6a.jpgHow sexy is that??????

Huge obstacles ahead….I loved the way Jessie orchestrated the way of getting Justice to stand up and face his feelings for her!!!!!
“Let me tell you how it’s going to be, Justice. You don’t tell me who I can and can’t have inside my house. I work for the NSO but my personal life is my own. You lost the right to give me your opinion,” she stressed that last word, “about what I do or don’t do the second you decided you didn’t want to see me anymore. You don’t want me so don’t you dare tell me I can’t spend time with other men.”
Humor, action, romance, intrigue, great secondary characters (please tell me that we are going to get Breeze’s book!!!)…………in the meantime, next its Brawn’s (who has taken over Jessie’s job) book.

*Spoilers*

“You’re not walking out of my life. You’re mine, Jessie. You belong with me.”

 photo 11266615_zpsfirrzkwd.gif

“You turned me on. You were small yet fierce. You fought incredibly well.”

WTH????? Ok is it me or was Justice a asshat for like over 50% of the book. I don't know what the hell happened! So Justice is book 4 in the New Species Series, and It was a let down. Justice is the leader of his people. He is the face of New species to humans. He lives his over worked, very busy life under a microscope having his every word and action dissected and splashed all over the news. He is expected to pick a Species for a mate , but it's this little human that makes him burn and brings out all his protective instincts. He wants Jessie Dupree so bad, but can he put his people at risk to have the one woman he loves? Jessie knows she shouldn't want Justice he is her boss, but he is sexy as hell and she just can't help wanting him. What starts out as a little fun in the bed gets complicated when she falls in love with a man that tells her they can't have a future together. Will Jessie get her man or will she end up with a broken heart?

“I admit to the jealousy. If you ever allow someone else to touch you, I will kill him, Jessie. I will tear him apart. Do you understand me?”

I just want to cry..... I loved Justice in the first 3 books and I couldn't wait to get to his book. I had such high hopes that he would sweep me off my feet and I would love him more than ever. I was so damn disappointed in the way he was in most of the this. He acted like a jackass, was a coward about their relationship and just pissed me off most of the time. I mean really Justice she can't be with you because of bla bla bla , but if she is with any other man you will kill him Really? I will give him this he got his act together, but I needed it to be sooner. There was moments when he was really sweet and sexy , but far more moments of him being a Jealous ass and having tantrums. And when he was telling Jessie all the reasons they couldn't be together all I thought was

 photo sarah-marshall-booshit-booshit-booshit_zpshvtwihrw.gif

“I definitely was that. You’re beautiful, Jessie. Did I tell you that?” He stared deeply into her eyes. “You’re the most beautiful thing I think I’ve ever seen when I’m inside you and you are enjoying us being together.”

“I made a commitment to my people and getting involved with you adds to the problems we have.” He took a deep breath and his anger faded to be replaced by sadness as he stared into her eyes. “I can think of a thousand reasons why it’s a bad idea to be with you but I’m still here. You’re my one weakness, Jessie. I want you and it seems logic doesn’t help me stay away.”

Jessie:

 photo 0c903567d6fc701c0cccc1b5d437aa4b_zpsfl5ixo1z.jpg

I loved Jessie. She was sweet, funny, total kick ass girl. Blunt and brave. She fights for what she believes in and for Justice. I felt so bad for her, I actually ached, I felt her heart break every time Justice pushed her away. She was supportive and understanding and really too good for Justice after the way he acted!

“You stand before those cameras, the reporters, and the world pretending to be totally human but you’re not. You can just be yourself with me, Justice. I accept you for who and what you are. You’re the guy who purrs and growls, gets a little out of control when we kiss and there’s nothing wrong with that.” She pushed forward, her hands flattened on the bed and she rose to her knees. Her gaze held his as she tried to show him she meant every word. “There’s nothing wrong with you, Justice North. I think you’re amazing and I don’t want you holding back with me. I want to get to know the real you, not some image you’ve tried to perfect for your job. You’re off the clock and it’s playtime. I’m going to teach you how to have fun and tear down those walls you’ve built. I’m safe, Justice.”

“I’m done, Justice. You didn’t want anyone to know about us because you knew we wouldn’t last. You said it was to protect everyone but I assumed that was for only as long as we were still getting to know each other. How naive of me to honestly think you wanted to see if we had a future. You moved me into the house of your future mate and you just made it very clear you’re set on a Species woman. Well, guess what? Fuck you, Justice. I have feelings. Do you get that?”

 photo e91da799dbf5befceda56a71aeeb6b9c_zpsgao0wkqm.jpg

“I want you to swell with my child and I want you bound to me in every way possible.” He stared deeply into her eyes. “I want to do everything to bind you to me in every way. You make me happy.” He smiled. “You make my life complete.”

I did enjoy that there was new different bad guys and I will say this Laurann Dohner can write some hella hot sex scenes. The book was a pretty good read, could it have been better? Hell yeah! Did I want to choke Justice for most of it? yes! The book did redeem itself and I got some sweet romance towards the end. Oh well I guess I can't love em all.

here is my favorite moment from the book:

Breeze approached the table slowly, glanced at the four males sitting there and put her hands behind her back. She waited until she had their full attention before she spoke. “Thank you,” she said softly, sincerely. “You said he cared for her,” Brawn grumbled. “You didn’t tell me he was obsessed to the point of going feral. He nearly took my head off when I told him I planned to claim her.” Cedar laughed. “He might not have overturned the table or wanted to tear your head off if you’d just said you were going to claim her. Breeze asked to make him jealous to get him to admit to his feelings for the human. You provoked him into wanting to kill you.” Bestial grinned. “I did like the part about taking her home, mounting her and fucking her until she screamed. Justice sure didn’t, but I was amused.” Jaded chuckled. “Yes. Let’s not forget that classic line that finally broke his barely contained control. What did you say, Brawn? You were going to fill her with your seed and plant it? That was a nice touch.”

For the sake of this review, I am going to replace Justice's name with the word Dickhead, because that is what his name should have been. He is a giant douchecanoe and I want to punch him in the dick.

*prepare for the rage*

This is the worst book in this series so far. The others have been ridiculous and yet lovable. They should have made me ragequit, and yet I thoroughly enjoyed them. This one made me want to throw my e-reader at the wall.

From the previous books, we already knew that Dickhead was a meddlesome asshole. He didn't respect boundaries and seemed to like to get involved in other peoples relationships.

I did not think that I could dislike Dickhead more than I already did when I went into this book. But Dickhead managed to prove just how much of a horrible person he was in his book and made me loathe him all the more.

Dickhead falls in love with a human woman, Jessie. She can take care of herself. She can do self defense. She's the only woman on an all male rescue task force that rescues enslaved New Species women. Do you think Dickhead appreciates any of this? Of course not. She is human, therefore she is not good enough for him to mate with for life, because, what would the press think? OH I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE THAT YOU WERE MORE HUMAN THAN ANIMAL AND ACTUALLY HAD FEELINGS?! DID YOU THINK OF THAT YOU PIECE OF SHIT?

Sorry for the caps. Actually, you know what? I'm not sorry at all. DICKHEAD DESERVES TO BE YELLED AT IN CAPS ALL THE TIME.

Jessie is a fierce woman. She has killed people. She has protected her own team. SHE SAVES DICKHEAD'S LIFE. Do you think any of this is ever fully acknowledged by the males in this book? OF COURSE NOT. She kills three men in order to save her team in the first few chapters, and the men in this novel fire her from her position on the taskforce as a result. I HAVE SO MUCH RAGE.

But that's not the worst part of the book - I know! You're sitting there wondering, Jess is already raging, how much worse can it get? Much worse.

So Dickhead and Jessie are banging and then they can't bang anymore because Jessie is a whinging bitch and said that it was okay for them to keep their relationship a secret, when it really wasn't okay for them to keep it a secret, because, reasons. So Dickhead goes out to a bar and unbeknownst to him molests dances with a girl on the dance floor in view of Jessie and so she decides to dance with another guy. Because fair is fair, right?

WRONG. It's totally okay for Dickhead to molest dance with another lady, but it's not okay for Jessie to dance with another guy. Because reasons.

FUCK OFF.

Oh! And it's totally okay for Dickhead to be all possessive and a domineering ASSHOLE, but as soon as something happens to him and Jessie acts the same way, she gets told to calm down, and when she doesn't she is drugged. WHAT THE FUCK?!

Add to this the fucking drama-llama bullshit of we can't be together, lets keep it a secret, oh we broke up lets have hot makeup sex, omg what are we doing? I hate you, but really I love you and I just can't express my feelings and I can't even deal with this shit.

I feel like this was written by a different person. It didn't flow well, the editing was atrocious and the love story was a fucking joke. I hope Dickhead dies in the series, that would make me happy.

If I didn't have people telling me there are better books in this series, I would give this up.

I wish I never read this book.

Re-read because Justice is So Damn Fine!!!

description

This was my favorite book of the series so far. I couldn't wait to get to Justice's story since meeting him in Fury's book. Justice is the leader of the New Species and he places their needs above his own. He is a nonstop workaholic professional that was elected leader by his people for his strength and inteligence. He is not only strong, but he is the "face" of New Species in front of the media. Justice has decided it would be inappropriate for him to take a human female as a mate. He feels that his people and the general public expect it of him. Those were his intentions until meeting Jessie Dupree.

Jessie

Justice is immediately drawn to Jessie and needs to find a way for them to be together. It involves a little deceit but he's just trying to have his cake and eat it too. What could be wrong with keeping things on the "downlow"? Well Jessie refuses to be Justice's "dirty little secret"!

You don’t want me so don’t you dare tell me I can’t spend time with other men.”

rough sex

Justice may not be willing to date Jessie publicly but he has vowed that he will kill and maim any man that she allows to touch her. Yeah, Justice is Stalkerific. He is also totally deluded if he thinks he'll be able to continue to hide his intense feelings for Jessie.

“I admit to the jealousy. If you ever allow someone else to touch you, I will kill him, Jessie. I will tear him apart. Do you understand me?”

in my bed

stockings

I loved these two together! Justice was a natural leader torn between the needs of his people and the desires of his heart! Jessie was a strong, total bad ass heroine that refused to be be with Justice on the DL.

Ruh roh, I'm going against all of my friends' reviews here, but I didn't think this book was that bad. Yes, I was angry a few times and wanted Jessie to move away from Justice because he was being a hypocrite, BUT...

*ducks for cover* I kind of understood why Justice thought he couldn't be with Jessie. He has proved himself to be a guy who thinks of every angle before he makes a move. He understood the huge ramifications that their relationship could have with both the New Species and the humans - along with the danger to Jessie herself.

I also understood Jessie's point of view. She thought she would be okay with a casual relationship with him, but then realized she was selling herself short by allowing him to keep her on the "down low". When she found out that she was living in a house that he was reserving for his future mate - a New Species mate, she decided that she didn't want to be his dirty little secret anymore. I thought that was a better decision than being his fuck-buddy.

Now, as penance for my unpopular opinion, I shall hang my head in shame.

"Welcome to our home. Now take off your clothes. I missed you."

I'm so glad I didn't have to wait so long for Justice's book. His the type of character you love immediately from book one and wish for his book above all else. And I was not disappointed with his story!
description

Justice North, NSO leader, has big responsibilities towards his people. He was chosen by his people to lead, protect and bring them justice, for all they've been handed from the hands of Mercile industries. His calm and poised in the public's eye, appearing non threatening to win the human's hearts. That's until he meets the fiery redhead Jessie, the only female that brings out his inner, animal purr.

"What are you thinking about doing that you'll regret?" His gaze searched hers and a long moment passed while he seemed to debate answering. "Touching you."
description

Jessie Dupree works with an assigned task force that helps NSO to retrieve their captured Gift females, still held by the men with past associations with Mercile. Jessie is stubborn and works hard at her job to help those females in need, even at the cost of her life. Thinking to share some work ideas with Justice, Jessie finds herself alone with the sexy Species male, with an urge to help him relax. Addicted to his touch and drawn to the man, Jessie is eager to continue their affair. But life isn't that simple for the leader of New Species.

"I've never been attracted to your kind before but I'm drawn to you in the worst way."
description

Their relationship seemed impossible, with so many difficult obstacles in the way. As a leader and the face of New Species, Justice has obligations and rules he must follow, to protect those he loves. It was heartbreaking to see him so torn up about his responsibilities and his need for Jessie. And her pain on feeling used and unwanted by someone that can never have her forever. I loved how strong and persistent Jessie was when giving Justice an ultimatum. She didn't give in and accept things half way, it was all or nothing for her.
description

I really enjoyed the flow of this book. The author keeps you intrigued and engaged from start to finish. And wanting more on the secondary characters featured in each book. I would have to say, Justice and Jessie are my favorite so far. I loved the build up of their relationship, and the love shared between these two strong and determined lovers.

This book by far is the BEST in this series. I love Justice's story. And Jessie is the perfect yin to his yang.

When it comes to the scope, the main characters, the secondary characters and dialogue, this story is completely on point. It blows the 1st 3 books out of the water on this front.

The emotion present in this one is intense and it just jumps off the pages. I love the chemistry between Justice and Jessie. Across the board, it is just white hot. As I said this one was intense with the emotion. Reading the story, the journey with Justice & Jessie just held me and kept me enthralled. But the suspense/drama was well thought out. Well executed. And the ending I love as well.

What you are presented with in this story and how it all comes together is done smoothly and ends quite nicely. I could not be moved from my laptop. I did not want this one to end.

Although I like all the books so far in this series, this one by far was the best for me. So I highly recommend this read. But I would still advise you to read this series in order.

I'm sorry. I can't continue reading this book any longer. I don't want to waste any more of my time on the thing that totally pissed me off!

**Spoiler alert!

The first half of the book was great. I lost myself in the story, enjoyed every page, and wanted to know more about Justice and Jessie. Both of them were adorable and their chemistry was flammable. I started to have some hope that this one would be my winner.

But then everything began to go downhill in the second half. Jessie started to drive me insane! Justice tried to end the things between them because there would be terrible consequences if he, the leader of New Species, got involved with a human woman. He explained to her that he concerned about his people and he couldn't and wouldn't let them down. She was the only one who wanted to continue this relationship and AGREED to keep it a secret. She seemed to understand all the reasons why they couldn't be seen together.

Everything between them went well, until one day, she wanted to stay the night at his house. Justice calmly told her that it couldn't happen because her scent would linger there and the New Species who came to clean his house would know about them immediately. And then she asked him about the house where she was living and he told her the truth that he built it for his future New Species mate. Although he tried to explain to her that it was the plan before he met her, she still went crazy. Suddenly, she thought it hurt so bad hearing about his mate. She was only his f**k buddy. He would leave her one day when he met his mate and that was why he wanted to hide their relationship. He felt ashamed of being with her, blah blah blah... WTH!!! Where was a funny, honest, and brave woman I'd known in the first half?

She said she wanted him the way he was and this was him, the man who took all responsibilities upon his shoulders. She always knew that his people were his first priority and she was selfish enough to insist that he must let everyone see them together in public no matter what would happen next. She didn't even care if it would cause the damage to all New Species!

This is what he tried to tell her...

"I can't go public with our relationship, Jessie. Not even for you." His gaze darkened, anger tightened his features and a soft growl passed his parted lips. "I have an entire race of people who look up to me and who count on me to take care of them. I have to do what's best for them and giving fanatics a reason to target us isn't going to help them one bit. Those humans really hate it when they find out one of us is with a human female. You'd be in danger. You couldn't leave Homeland without being harassed at best, killed at worst. Think of your father too."

And let's see how well she understood his words...

"Get out."

Arghhh! I couldn't stand Jessie. She ruined the book!

Oh Justice, you're it for me! Justice North is the man, in every sense and i can't do anything else but love him! He was a bit dickhead at points but i forgive him solely because my girl Jessie did too.

We all know he is the face of the N.S.O. and we all understand the pressure he must feel everyday, but a fiery, badass, redhead is here to change everything, once and for all.

Justice is under constant evaluation and scrutinized by humans and Species for everything that he does. Jessie on the other hand is the only woman in a task force team trained to retrieve Species who are still prisoners.

From the very first moment they see each other it's a done deal. Their passion, chemistry and affection is remarkable and you can see the bond forming in a natural and organic way that's makes you forget about the insta-love.

For the first time in this series, we see a clear chasm opening inside the N.S.O. and that's another amazing aspect. The on-going plots are incredible, the sex is of the charts hot, Justice is jealous and starts losing his control and Jessie is awesome. I love this girl to bits.

So what do you wait for? If you haven't read this series yet, go do it now!!!

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Justice was so jealous!!

- Him dancing with Kit!!! GRRR!!
- So happy to see Tiger..
- Breeze and her devious plan..
- I liked Jessie's father.
- Breeze was an amazing friend to Jessie. I enjoyed their girly time immensely.
- I loved how protective Jessie was of Justice. She was amazing in the house fight and in the hospital when she guarded Justice's room.. AWWW!
- When Tiger caught them in the hospital room it was insanely funny!
- I guess Jessie is my favorite girl in the series along with Joy from Moon!

Oh how I love to reread these books from time to time.

I realize that a lot of people have an issue with Justice. And while I may not agree with everything he did, my heart truly went out to him. Here is a guy who is trying with all his might to make a better way of life for his people. He is sacrificing his own happiness for that of his people. He works too hard and too much. Not only that, he has to wear a mask to hide who he truly is. It breaks my heart. He only wants someone to love who will love him for who he is. He finds that in Jessie but doesn't think he can have her. He has to sacrifice love, something for himself, in order to help his people.

I absolutely LOVE Jessie. She is one of my favorite heroines in this series. She is tough and badass but also soft and vulnerable. My heart broke for her too when Justice pushes her away. She deserves someone to love too.

This is one of my favorites in the series and I'm sure I'll be rereading it again.

The New Species Leader!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💚
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😠☺️😋😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Jessie - she had seen Justice North on television but thinks he is even more handsome in person. He gave orders to her bosses at the task force and held the power to change some of the task force policies that she didn’t agree with. She thought the issues were important, but she wasn’t allowed to attend the meetings with Justice.

The Hero: Justice - He is the leader of the New Species who are now citizens of the United States since they were created with tax dollars and born on US soil. The New Species now have two large plots of land which they own. One was called Homeland and the other was called Reservation.

The Story: When a recently released New Species male attacked Jessie, Justice North stepped in and rescued her. He took charge and swore to make sure his people knew how to act in the future. Justice invited Jessie to dinner so they could talk. Her attraction to him grew the more they got to know each other and his to her. Though Justice had planned to mate with another Species and not to a human, he knew he couldn’t have her.

There were some parts of this book that I didn’t like. First of all was her boss Ted who kept saying that he thinks of her as a daughter and would spank her if she didn’t stay back away from the danger. Then after she showed that she was up to the task and killed three men that were after her team and rescued the New Species woman they were after, but she got shot by a sniper as they were getting away. Her father, who was a senator, fired her from the job. She looked weak when she just accepted it even though a different job was offered to her.

This book is told in multiple points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Vanessa Chambers. I liked her narration of the first three books when I listened to them a while back. I have to admit some of the scenes with the two main characters were pretty stilted. I don’t know if it was the story or the narration. I just finished listening to most of the VLG series by the same author and I really enjoyed the narrator on that series, Savannah Richards. Vanessa is good, but not quite as good as Savannah.

Hello, worst cover ever. You've got luscious abs and arms going on, but you had to ruin it with that pose. It looks like he's squatting to use the bathroom in a towel/kilt/toga/sheet. It's horrible. Or he's doing those weird lunge stretches you see guys sometimes doing, you know, the ones that have no idea what exercise is, but they pretend by doing awkward stretching lunges. Pff. It's just all wrong. But the horrible cover fits with the horrible male mc inside.

I didn't write a review about this when I read it and I won't ever reread this, so we're relying on my memory to recount what I loathed.

Justice is a giant douchebag asshole squid pellet. He's not only a douchey douche to humans, but NS people, too. He's an arrogant bastard in his dealings. He's all hot to trot over one of his task force employees, Jessie, and wants to bang her, so he does. He then proceeds to treat her like a lepered whore carrying a cross between the Bubonic plague, small pox, and zika. (If I had a lab, I'd totally be trying to create this in order to infect his ass, in quarantine, of course.) His main objections about a relationship with Jessie are due to the fact she's not NS, ok, so don't bang her then, idiot. Sigh. To explain the rest of my loathing would spoil the book, but suffice to say, he should be neutered.

Jessie was ok in the beginning and I liked her in her job capacity, but I really dislike that she puts up with Justice's nonsense and lets him treat her so shabbily. She's supposed to be a badass, walking around armed, etc., but she's spineless near Justice. I can't tolerate such and there was no groveling from him. She should've demanded an organ and a large monetary settlement before forgiving his ass. Since she didn't, I'm advising she be spayed.

Don't forget to spay and neuter your pets! Don't let a jerky two timing alley pet knock up your lady pet, she's better than that. And don't let your male pet sow his wild oats, that'd be costly child support you'd have to pay.

The right way to pull of this pose:

This is a NONVIOLENCE hate campaign, only hate words, where it targets and focuses to Justice North, leader of New Species then followed by his mate, Jessie.

This campaign was created because of the poor portrayal of the said couple in their book having displayed UNPARALLELED IDIOCY

Justice North. Shame on the name you chose for yourself. It didn't live up to the expectations.
I have so much hate going for you that I want to hurt you and see you suffer six ways to Sundays.
You, sir, are dick of the highest order. Go f*ck yourself.

Jessie Dupree.
*shakes head*
Jessie. Jessie. Jessie. Tsk.
You gave women a bad name.
I liked you at first. Bad ass, had smarts in the head, very stubborn and cannot be easily persuaded.
Then you fed Justice (TSK!) and the like I had for you was blown into smithereens.

I have lost too many brain cells that I felt for a moment, the synapses in my neurons were not firing in the right directions.
WTF?! Why would you feed a very capable man with two capable hands in your first not-even-social-meeting?!

Another one, I was expecting that you were going to put up a good fight when you were relinquished from being the ambassador but you just folded without uttering a word. YOU LOVED YOUR JOB, for sobbing out loud! Where was the bad ass and stubborn woman that was introduced at the start of the book?
Fark!... I got so played!
The inconsistencies in this book were UNACCEPTABLE! I HATE INCONSISTENCY! HATE HATE HATE IT!
At least with Justice-he was consistent. I knew he was a faggot right from the beginning.
You know what? I think I hate you more than Justice North because in his defence, he's a man!

“Did you ever wonder why I always pull out of you after sex? I don’t soften if I’m inside you. As long as I’m in you I can go for hours.”

BOG OFF! Keep your long lasting erection away from me. I work in a lab, I will dismember it.

Nope. I'm strapping this. One cannot gain entry unless one wishes to age 10 years after reading this f*kn book.

5 Justice Stars

Continuing this series I forget how much I love it. Justice is a character who I never really put much thought into if I am being honest. So when this was book 4 I was like Meh but it’s so good.

You don’t think his job would be as hard as it is, he never shows how much work it is to his people. But Jessie when she comes into his life she sees what others don’t see. She sees that he can’t be himself. He has to be the face of New Species.

Justice doesn't take time for himself; he works almost 24/7 because the cause is so important. It’s for his people but there has to be balance and Jessie kid of knocks him on his butt. She stirs up emotions in him and he fears for her the more his feelings grow for her.

She is fierce and protective, and so is Justice they just click.
Fabulous audio can’t wait to continue the series.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

JUSTICE & JESSIE

Well, I really liked Justice and I really did NOT like Jessie, but I loved their story - I hope it makes sense.
I hated the book cover. Totally irrelevant.
My favourite species in this book was Brawn and Breeze.

4.5 Stars! A Righteous Read!

I was looking forward to reading/listening to Justice's book from the moment I met him in Fury. You always wonder if a book will live up to your expectations, especially when you love a character as much as I love this one. My worrying was for naught, the author did right by Justice!

Vanessa Chambers is fast becoming one of my favorite narrators!

WOWZAAAA for the hottest of the new species!

Meet Justice North, the leader of New Species Organization (NSO)

This man knows how to push my buttons. He growled, he roared..and HE PURRED

Justice is a workaholic, considering he's the leader of the new species, he's like a president in our world. The welfare of all his people were on his shoulders and he felt as the leader he had to set examples, including on who he chose to be his mate. He were set that he had to take a new species to be his mate. Well, if it could be that easy...
Enter Jessie Dupree. She worked in a task force for the NSO. She's a badass but she's all woman! I adore her!!! These two met and their world was set on fire instantly.

Justice was torn between wanting Jessie and his responsibility to his people. There were new species who still bore hatred to humans and humans who condemned the new species..all of them could endanger Jessie's life. He decided to keep their relationship away from public. Jessie wouldn't want that, it's all or nothing. She refused to be a secret in their relationship. Now, have I said I love this girl?

It's HOT to see Justice in his jealousy, he's feral. He's such a jackass, it's fun to see Jessie drove him to madness.

How I love this book! This is the best so far. For me this book made up what the previous lacked off, the chemistry is off the chart, it's fun, engaging, emotional, good plots, and I don't need to say it again, it's HOT. Even the side characters were necessary, I want more of them..Breeze, Tiger, Brawn! Well, he's next so off I go.

"You make me happy, Jessie. I'm so glad you came into my life. You're a breath of sunshine in the dark stillness my life has become."

"You just rock my world and my headboard."

Justice let me down. I had such high hopes based on his character in the prior books. The 3 stars is generous. He totally pissed me off. Indecisive and a cheater. Awesome. No he did not have sex. But he took another female out on a date (after having lots of sex with Jessie) and was dancing with her in a suggestive manner and she thought she was getting laid. (This is why it rates as a Safe with Exceptions) It was forgiven too easily. All of his shit was forgiven too easily. Jessie rocked. I love these heroines.

Still love it!

Original review November 10, 2013

I think Justice is the sexist man alive and Jessie is the best female character written in a paranormal romance book. He is the leader is his people New Species and has taken on the responsibility of gaining their independence and being the face they show the public. That is a lot of pressure from New Species and Humans so when he falls for a human female Jessie. He is torn between his heart and his duty. I loved this story. This is the first New Species book I came across so Justice has a special place with me as this is my favorite paranormal romance series. Start with Fury so you have all the back story but read them all.

RATING: 1-1.5 "Whatever" Hearts

Well, Laurann Dohner seems to have a trend going on with this series, in that it goes up and down. I was exciting to read Justice's book, and I think given my rating, it is safe to say, Justice was a HUGE let down. When you have so much hype built on one character in a series, it creates certain expectations, and living up to those expectations is just part of the package deal. And that is what this fails in, regrettably.

Admittedly, this book starts off rather interestingly and enjoyable, and with the same charm as some previously well-liked books in the series, but somewhere along the way, it just dies down. There is no "real" story in this, and everything about this book is contradicting. Justice is supposedly this strong, smart and commanding character (hence my excitement over his book), yet, in this, we get nothing but a wimpy and weak personality. Jessie, although funny, didn't seem as strong as previous heroines. Bring these two together, and there is no spark, no magic, only lust, lust and more lust. I was expecting someone so much better than Jessie for Justice, someone headstrong, and worthy of his character, and that is yet another aspect in which I was sorely disappointed. The gist of it is, these two weren't believable as a couple. I didn't understand their sudden "love" or lust for each other, and I sure as heck did not believe their HEA.

One thing I've appreciated with this series, is that even though we essentially have men who have been tortured by humans, we always get a plausible romance when they fall in love with a human. Cliche, yes, but it works. This book, unfortunately, featured no aspects that were even remotely feasible, so Justice ending up with Jessie, didn't make sense to me. I felt no connection with them, and quite frankly didn't care about them. They just didn't work together.

In general, the plot is bad, the writing is just meh, and the characters are also bad. For example: *queue eye rolls*

Or this: Give me a fucking break, please.

So, not much good to say about this one, and it might be the worst book in the series, IMO. The only good thing here were the appearances of previous couples and characters I love. Sadly, Justice did have a lot of potential, but it is seriously misguided. I'm going to be reading the next in the series, and if the ratings continue like this, I don't think I'll continue with it. Brawn don't let me down, please!!

Not her, not for me. I won’t put the female I love in danger.

I loved, loved, loved Jessie. I wish her badass skills. We’re given more credit though. She kicked major ass and all the men were surprised. I was kind of mad at all the men in this book. Her crazy boss needed to be fired. Her dad treated her like a little girl. Justice totally underestimated her. It was a sick pattern when she was so strong.

Still liked the books very much. The 3 stars are because Justice drove me crazy with his wishy-washy attitude. Who saved the day?!?!? Breeze!! She was my favorite character in this book! She was the real MVP of this book and is an evil genius that deserves her own book.

All in all Justice and Jessie’s story was good. I expected Justice to be a stick on the mud about his job and the role of his mate. So it was fine I just expected more. What that more is, I don’t know, just more.

P.S. Can we talk about these cover models though? Are they real men? Bodybuilders? Muscles everywhere. And the pictures are getting kind of ridiculous.

**re-read** (not sure how many times I have read this). Jessie is freaking awesome! I love this book and I love that Jessie doesn't put up with crap from Justice even if he thinks he is doing the right thing. I liked this book more this time around! I love Justice but his push and pull with this book always irks me,but Jessie ad her actions and not backing down are always my favorite part of this book. Well besides when Justice finally snaps, I love that.

While this was one of the more valid secret relationship plot lines, the writing was still choppy and awkward.

It pains me to say it, but Justice was an ass. I could sympathize a smidge, but he was a disappointment... and why is he wearing a kilt??

Justice North is the leader/figure head of the NSO. He’s a panther mix, and a workaholic. Jessie Dupree works on the task force making first contact with recovered species, especially the Gifts. (smaller/more human looking spliced with domestic animals used as sex slaves) Her dad is a “species friendly” senator.

This one mixes it up, although the “coupling” happens early on; it doesn’t follow the “I love you let’s get married” formula of the others. There’s A LOT of push/pull/push from Justice as he grapples with his attraction to Jesse and his duty to his people. I didn’t love this dynamic…BUT… can see how it could be appealing to some readers because there’s oodles of angst.

There’s a situation with a potential OW, (which is a first) Justice doesn’t cheat but he does take Kit (cat mix) to dinner and dancing (after the break) and grinds all over her ass while grabbing her hips as she paws him. She’s also expecting that they share sex 😊 and offered to mate with him.

Kit moved closer to him and turned until her back pressed against Justice’s front. Justice reached out and grabbed her hips, moving erotically against her as if they were making love. One of his arms slid around her waist to tug her closer and Kit laughed. The woman turned, wrapped her arms loosely around his neck and rubbed her body along the front of his with their lips nearly touching. Justice still danced with Kit clinging to him. As Jessie watched, the woman lowered her body, rubbing against Justice’s front and his hands splayed on her bare belly

It wasn’t technically cheating, but a conversation (and apology) would have been nice. Instead we get Breeze diffusing/fixing it and it’s skipped over and brushed away. Also, I would have LOVED to see Kit’s reaction to their mating. I feel like this comes up again with Kit and another H.

Bottom Line- I wasn’t overly impressed with Justice, and I thought L.D missed a golden opportunity to explore the OW aspect since many of these characters have slept with each other, but it’s never discussed. Breeze once again saves the day. I don’t know what these couples would do without her; she really deserves her own book. I’m pulling for a Breeze/Trey pairing. 💘💘 For a while there I was also disappointed that Jessie was being doormat-ish, but she turns into a crazy Lara Croft badass at the end. **Council introduced. Brawn, Bestial and Cedar. ***Beauty (Shadow) rescued.

This book made me warm up a little more to the New Species Series. Admittedly, I did start with bk #7; then I went back and started at square one.

I know each of these stories will be about a Species finding his or her mate while adjusting to their sovereign homeland and to outside threats against their kind. However, Justice being the figurehead of the New Species is THAT character, the one who you just want to have a great story. His position of being a generally accepted and not quite human politician, an animal with a cool head, means he must perceive his actions by always having the best interest of his people at the forefront. This conflict evokes legitimate concern on whether or not his mating a human female, Jessie Dupree, will stagger the New Species' cause and sever some of their important relations with the U.S. government & society.

I felt like this conflict worked deliciously against Justice's dominant nature that demanded he claim his mate. It made for some explosive and sometimes comical situations.

All in all, Justice and Jessie were depicted as a very compatible couple. Justice needed a strong and fierce mate, and that is sure as hell what he got! The ending was awesome.

¡¡OMG!!

100% recomendable.
