This book was ok, I didn't enjoy it well, I would in fact not recommend this book to anyone (F.Y.I.) butt eaters. Because who gives a crap what Dora says. hola, who gives a crap, everyone knows what it means it means go **** youself. Ever thought of that creepers.
Dora can just go and eat MY BANANNA BEEF!.....AND MY BOOB!

I like how Dora always makes the viewer feel like they are personally on an adventure with her (on the tv show). This simple books does that too, in both English and Spanish.

She is on her way to school and sees her teacher on a bicycle. The bicycle gets a flat tire, but Dora quickly uses 'plan B' - the bus.

The first school bell off in the distance is heard, and they must be there before the third. You see three items in their path:
1. Letter Town
2. Number Mountain
3. School

Kids reading this will easily point to the three items, and correlate them to the three school bells.
Navigating Letter Town, you follow the streets that maintain the ABCDEFG...XYZ entire alphabet, by turning correctly at an intersection properly.
Number mountain has you first count UP to 10 as you climb the mountain, then count DOWN from 10, and you come down the mountain. Another good skill for children.

The final path to the school has them fly on condors over the jungle. This is the typical adventure-spirit of Dora.

Arriving at school, there is a backpack page with the contents spread out, for a child to point and name.

Finally, don't forget the fox that needs to be told "Swiper, no swiping!".

A very positive, bilingual book promoting basic early school skills.

This is a great book to have on yourself as a teacher with Hispanic students in your classroom. For them, and for your white students to be understanding of their culture as well.
Great English beginning words to sounds out and good use of vocab terms with pictures as well.

More interactive than the average Dora book. If you are tired, pass on this one. If you have the energy to read this with a child, they will be engaged the whole time because there is a lot of question and calling.

The story is pretty weak. I just gave it 2 stars because I like that it has Spanish too.

Yes

From my 3 year old: “I like reading it. I like reading about Dora’s school! I want my neighbor to read it. I liked everything about the book, did not not like anything.” 😃

Perhaps I would have given this a better rating if I didn't find Dora completely annoying. And the copy of this that I have is a TAG reader so her voice came with it. Mercifully Leap Frog put comparatively few games in it, so it moved a little bit more quickly than it could have.

The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because it does have the alphabet and numbers in it, and I guess I shouldn't completely trash the book just because I loathe Dora.

You really probably shouldn't go by my rating of this book, since (as you may have noticed) I'm a little biased.

If my daughter choose another Dora book from the library, I might have to gouge my eyes out. And this was one of the better ones. Oh, but does she like them, and they are "educational," if your goals are modest (i.e. teaching random Spanish words and counting to ten).

ugh, Dora books are never great, but this book is ridiculous.
Dora's teacher gets a flat tire on her bike on her way to school, so Dora helps her out by catching a bus, then riding a train, then riding a condor through the forest to get to school.

Uh, yeah. Right

Familiar character who helps students with their English and Spanish skills. Dora helps her teacher carry all of the school supplies to school when she gets a flat tire. Go on the adventure with Dora to get her and the teacher to school in order to prepare for the children.

When will there be a day when I do not have to read this book to my 2 year old Dora fan? Can't say I am a huge fan of this book (I find it really quite tedious and the illustrations leave me cold) but my 2 year old loves, loves, loves this book. So what do I know!?

I really like this book. It's teaches Spanish, numbers, and alphabet. I love the fact that it has an activity for the kids to do. This weekend I am going to do the activity with my kids too. I can't wait.

Typical Dora easy reader...this one includes pages with alphabet and numbers 1-10 (forwards and backwards). Kids enjoy these titles with spanish phrases and tone of the Dora cartoon.

Drives me crazy when children's books depict characters riding bikes without helmets!

But the Number Mountain and Letter Town were cool.
