Once the streets pull you in they own you. Or at least that's the way it's been for Slump. Since a child he had the responsibility of taking care of himself along with his younger brother and sister by any means necessary. The only thing he has ever been good at is killing, so good that the streets named him. "The Boogyman" but Slump faces a problem when he has to find out the hard way that not everyone is afraid of the Boogyman. He has one goal, get this money and get out fast. That's until his past begins to catch up to him. This classic tale by Jason Brent is sure to leave readers breathless.
You either it or your not....slump is the man to see if there I happenings lol a nice pace book. Love the fact that family came first no matter what, but since the streets is calling would the Boogeyman survive....part 2 here I come. 3.5 stars
The plot of this book was well thought out. However, what I did not like about this book was that it did not have enough character development. Who is Slump really? Why is Nicki the way she is?
All I know about the characters is what they are going through at a specific moment. Nothing really made me fall in love with the characters or root for one character over another character. I would have liked this book a lot more if went into more detail and really captured my attention. Overall, this was a good story. More attention to the editing and details will take this book a long way.
Waste of time reading this book. Most gangsta' stuff. Drugs selling and stealing . Tough talking guys, lots of them dumb niggas' and hoes kind of words thru out the whole book. Then lots of sex talking , he did her and she did her and all sorts of ways they all had sex with each other Drugs and sex was mostly the whole book. They stole his all his drugs and money now trying to sell it for profit and eventually get out of the business . Story ended abruptly to me. I did not know it was a continued story. Don't matter cause I wont read it.
I actually enjoyed the storyline although it felt familiar. The author has his own unique way of telling the story which I appreciated. Of course I'm left with questions but I'm hoping to get them answered in part 2 (yes, I will be reading part 2). Now for the not so good part...The editing and characters names were off. The story flowed but those issues caused me to reread paragraphs until they made sense. I actually give the story a 3.5 star review and if the names weren't mixed up, it would be a 4 star read to me. I hope part 2 keeps my attention like this one did and that the editing is better so the author can receive the credit the story is due!
It doesn't pay to always think you getting over on somebody else

I liked the pace of the story and how it began. Then as I kept reading and found myself unable to put it down until I knew what happened next. I read this story praying those girls make it in the end. Key lesson will be....always finish what you start. Don't leave no witnesses. Live and learn
Good Read definitely a page turner. Slump is a good dude im so glad him and Nicki hit it off. I just hope she can handle his lifestyle. I knew Red and Money was gone be grimey to the core. Also they been in Texas for a min and all of a sudden 2 new girls and guys. I cant wait to read the second part.
This book was good had some typos here and there but it was still interesting end to soon. Could have went into the story a little more before part one ended. So we need to see what happens to the two girl's will they make it out alive. Will slump find happiness and get out of this life.
This book was just another read. It wasnt the worse book i have read but it wasnt great either. It was full of errors that took away from the story and the storyline was the usual urban storyline. Some aspects of this book didnt make much sense and the ending was just horrible. There was no cliff hanger, no big reveal, and nothing that left me wanting more. I will not be following this series
I had difficulty with the dialect until I 'caught on'. It was a slow starting book & didn't get interesting until it was time for Part II. I'm undecided whether or not I'll purchase Part II of Slumped although they did have a nice 'hook' at the end.
A book to keep your complete attention and having hanging onto every word. Can't wait to read Pt 2 and see what else Slump has in mind for his next move
