I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.
Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!
I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.

So-so!! Not great, but not bad either..
I think it's right in the middle because it had some quilities that i like, but mostly it felt boring..
Their first time is really good.. Hot and romantic and i really loved it.. Then everything starts to go down.. The story doesn't make much sense and it's forced..
If the book was longer i'm sure it would have turned out much better..
The characters were well-rounded and with a past worthy of a better storyline..
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- It was so sweet how he remembered the first time he saw her and how he was looking for her anytime he could..
- I like that she was vulnerable but strong at the same time..
- I like the tattoo she has..
- For me it was the epilogue that made it..
- Too rushed!!
- The whole revenge senario goes down the drain very easily..
- It was really short for that type of story.
- Her friend was nice.

Me gusto mucho es tipico historias de segundas oportunidades
pero en verdad fue bueno me mantubo enganchada hasta el final
crei que la segunda parte era sobre ellos pero alparecer es sobre su amiga
las escenas de sex no se quedan atras fueron perfectas son esas escenas que dices Woww lo estoy comprendiendo jajaja ,fue realmente bueno poder algo de esta autora que sin duda leere en un futuro aparte fue demasiado corto y sin tanto drama ...

I was given First Rapture for an honest review. I find this an easy task. While a short read, my attention was captured immediately. Who has not had the fantasy to get even with their "first"? In this story, Madison plots to change her memories of her first lover. Her plans of revenge sex take her back to her gorgeous obsession. After setting the scene, she finds that she is as trapped by her plot as he is. Little does she know that his memories have been as consumed by her has hers have been by him. Now that she has found him, how will she keep him from never letting her go?
This story is not only hot but in the end reminds us that good thing can still happen. I found it to be the best of all worlds: a book as erotic as anyone could want and a feel good read that leaves you with a warm glow. If you are looking for a fun read, I would recommend First Rapture with full confidence.

Me gustó mucho la portada, la imagen en blanco y negro resaltada con esos detalles en rojo esta muy bueno. Además, emana sensualidad. A ustedes que les parece?
Sin embargo, la historia no tiene un gran argumento. Básicamente te cuenta que Madison y Luc tuvieron una noche de pasión durante la adolescencia. Esa misma noche, Luc huye cuando ella le dice que tiene sentimientos por él.
A partir de ese momento, Madison queda bastante ofendida y herida emocionalmente, por lo que a pesar de que pasan muchos años -y sale con otros hombres- aún no logra olvidarlo. Es por eso que planea obtener su venganza: pagarle a Luc exactamente con la misma moneda, seduciéndolo y dejándolo.
Pero cuando al fin logra su cometido, sus planes se vienen abajo porque ahora Luc está decidido a formar algo serio. Así que ella tendrá que decidir si darle o no una oportunidad.
En general, me gustó. Pasé un buen rato leyendo este libro y seguramente leeré la siguiente historia :)

He’s affected her so much she can’t orgasm with anyone else.(That must’ve been some SERIOUSLY amazing sex!) So she goes back to Las Vegas, to hunt him down and pull a sexual hit and run, which she feels he did to her.
Luc is the son of a rich daddy, but he sets out to make it on his own and create his own success…which he does. He’s been a playboy, but now he’s wanting to settle down. But he can’t get Maddy out of his mind. The young girl who rocked his world.
(Et tu Luc? Bet he still had orgasms with other lovers though.

Honestly, I really loved this story. I liked how Madison took an embarrassing situation and used it to become someone she could be proud of. I also liked how the story pointed out how something we do as kids can make or break us as adults. It was real. We’ve all wanted to(or done) the revenge screw. It’s human nature and I like that Alexandra Ivy brings that to us…makes us look into that reality mirror.
She didn’t just bring a love story to us, she brought back some personal memories and for that I give “First Rapture” by Alexandra Ivy 5 Stars

First Rapture is the first Alexandra Ivy book that I’ve read where the hero and heroine were not furry, fanged, or different in some other paranormal manner. So if you’ve always wanted to try her books out but wanted characters of the human variety her Rapture series is a perfect place to start.
Alexandra starts this book out with an extremely hot memory of Madison’s and the heat simmers to scorching the entire way through this sexy little novella. Madison has returned to Vegas after eight years to purge the sexy Dark Angel Luc from her system once and for all. She has never really gotten over the heartbreaking walk out he did on her years before and she is determined to have her revenge. Little does she know Luc has his own bitter feelings about the way things went eight years ago and now that Madison is in his presence he has some plans of his own.
Oh my Luc is deliciously hot. He says all the right things. It is no wonder he has managed to turn Maddy into the mess that she unravels to. I would be in the same predicament she is in if I had all of that sexy man for an evening and then had to watch him walk away. Even though Luc did something terribly wrong he was still easy to like and fall in love with. Maddy was the same way. A revenger seeker could be easily disliked and viewed as childish or bitter, but Alex made her into such a strong woman you’re cheering her along on her mission while relentlessly hoping Luc gets the girl. First Rapture is an all around win!

Madison is a teenage girl about to turn 18 yrs old, her mother is not there to celebrate with her. Madison has such vivid dreams, it makes you wonder if she is really dreaming or it is actually happening. She is still a virgin at 18.
She often had fantasies of the "Dark Angel". An older male who was the "ideal" boyfriend to her. She dated but wouldn't become involved with any of the "boys" who were her date.
She invited the Dark Angel to her party, but he didn't show up, which made her disappointed. How ever she did have a surprise waiting for her after all her guests left.
I can't say much more as I will give away everything. I will say get Ivy's book, First Rapture, and read it. Once you pick it up you will not be able to put it down.

Maddy and Luc share a tumultuous past, one where she was an innocent young girl who was head over heels in love with the local bad boy. She gave him the gift of her virginity and he slammed into her with all the finesse of a hit and run expert!
Fast forward eight years later and Madison is now a successful model gracing the top magazine covers around the world. She also owns her own modeling company, so why can't she find happiness in her life? Could she still harbor feelings for the jerk who took her virginity and ran out so fast one would have thought his ass had burst into flames?
Luc messed up with Maddy all those years ago... boy did he mess up! He sees her as the one who got away. Alexandra Ivy's voice is as distinct as ever, filling this piece with descriptive passages and tragically sarcastic dialogue.
Fast paced and passionate, Alexandra Ivy surprises her fan base with steamy descriptions that leave the reader winded and wanting.
For those looking for a quick but intense read, I would definitely recommend this book. I received this book by the Ivy League of Readers to record an honest and eloquent review. I was not disappointed in the slightest.

I received a copy from the author for my honest review, so here it is. This is a great story. Maddy has always been in love with Luc. Can Luc make her see he has only loved her? The other women were never a replacement. Can she get past the hurt he caused eight years ago? With the help of her BFF, will they get their HEA? This is the first for me by Alexandra Ivy and I will be reading more from her. If you are looking for a feel good story that will have you feeling Maddy's pain, then this one is for you. I hope you enjoy it, I loved it!

I didn't know that this book was a novella. the story was actually good but I think it was more suitable written in full book because it made everything cut too short and abrupt. it was like I saw a promising beginning to a great romance and that it just ended. So I concluded that i enjoyed but not the end because I totally didn't see it coming. This plot and the way the writer wrote it was definitely more suitable to longer book. I wanted not to say that the author did a bad job with this book because I didn't know if she was constrained by the fact that this was a novella but she did. the pace was too slow for Novella this short. There were too many things going on and many potential to go on. I was pretty sad that I didn't get the full book out of it. I thought IT would had been great.

Even though this story was only novella length, Alexandra Ivy was able to pack enough angst and romance into the story to leave you smiling at the HEA. It was nice to see Maddy come to realize just how wrong she was about Luc (prior to me getting to the point of wanting to slap her!), and I loved her friend Kristen, who calls BS on her when she tries to deny why she has come back to Las Vegas and her true feelings about Luc.
This is another great read from Alexandra Ivy. If you are looking for a book that will leave you smiling and believing in love and happily-ever-after’s, I highly recommend this book.

First Rapture is a novella by Alexandra Ivy. This book is like a shot of Red Bull. It will raise your temperature, quicken your heartbeat and give you a little jolt of romance. This is a hot little read.
Madison Philips is a self-made business woman. A former model, she is building a successful modeling agency. She seems to have it all, but she hasn't been able to establish a long term relationship with any man. She can't seem to get over the rejection by her first lover, Luc Angeli. Now, she is out to rectify that.
Luc Angeli, son of a wealthy casino owner has been chasing his father's approval for most of his life, this includes trying to mirror his father's philandering ways. But once he has shed this need for acceptance, he develops into his own man. After many years, Luc and Madison reconnect and the sparks are still there. The question is, are they willing able to make it work?
Once again, I find myself a little frustrated because this story is so short. I really like these characters and wanted more development in their story - there is so much material to be flushed out with Luc and his father, his maturation, and the development of his own business. Luc is a mystery I want to unravel. The same applies to Madison. I'm sure there are stories to be told moving from model to head of an agency. My one consolation is that since I like the author's writing style, I'm sure to find great reads from her library of books.
IN A NUTSHELL:
This is only my second story I've read from this author. I enjoyed this quick read and look forward to indulging in another Alexandra Ivy book soon.

General: Ahh! This short story is too short! I could read another 200 pages of it! First Rapture grabbed me from the start with talks of nightmares. I was immediately drawn in (especially since no one ever writes about Vegas and I lived there for just shy of 10 years). Madison and Luc's story was hot as hell and filled with wonderfully written emotions and a plot line that I wished stretched far longer then it did!
Revenge is always an entertaining reason for a novel. Revenge sex...even more appealing. I'm not the biggest fan of non paranormal romance and I have to say, the tension, heat and great way the plot moved forward with every word kept me hooked from the start. The chemistry between Madison and Luc jumped off the page and was the true driving force in the story. Every detail was perfectly placed to move the story foreword and each detail drew me further in.
Characters: Madison- I loved Madison. It was a nice change to have a female be the seductor. There was a genuine contrast between teen "Maddy" and adult superstar "Madison". However you could see the tie between the two ages with her internal thoughts whenever she was near Luc. She was sexy, in control of her life and emotions but wonderfully vulnerable. My only complaint was I sometimes think the easy rags to riches stories are a little to contrite.
Luc- Luc was by sexy as hell. No one can resist a bad boy. Pair that with money and good looks and the only thing missing was knowing teen Luc's thoughts. Adult Luc could melt hearts. He was suave, determined and loving. Plus sensual. I enjoyed getting to learn about his dick move in the past through the eyes of the more mature man.

I enjoyed this story. Yes it was short but it was a very hot and sweet story of Luc and Maddy.
Maddy invited Luc to her 18th birthday party and she's had a crush on him for years and even
though he doesn't show up till after the party and Maddy gets her wish and looses her virginity
the moment Maddy tells Luc that she loves him he runs.
It's a classic rich/poor storyline. Maddy didn't have much and her parents really could have
cared less but Maddy finally got the richness and success that she wanted, but she can't get Luc
out of her mind and its effecting her relationships. Where as Luc had
a rich daddy and wants to make it out on his own, which he does and was a well known playboy
who finally is tired of that lifestyle and wants to settle down and he can't seem to get
Maddy out of his mind.
I think we all do dumb things as teens and honest feelings can sometimes scare us. I didn't
expect Maddy to go for Revenge sex to get Luc out of her system, but if we think about it
haven't there been a time or two maybe that we wish we could do the very same thing?
I like how Alexander Ivy took to heart something we have all felt. Made it seem real and
turned it into a HEA.

Madison and Luc have a history. Brief, but an important history nonetheless. Their past make them into the individuals you meet as adults. Each has had their own hurdles to overcome and now are in a place in their lives where they should be happy. When they meet again after many years apart will not only cause sparks to fly but truths to be told.
A novella that doesn't leave you hanging and while you want more it isn't for a lack of an ending. Alexandra Ivy provides a passionate story of two individuals who find out exactly what they need. You fall for both characters and for different reasons. Luc is a strong alpha male, witty and smart. Madison is intelligent, independent and strong. While we do learn about their past, we get a better idea of Madison's past vs. Luc. That however, doesn't deter from enjoying the story. You are left wanting to learn more about their lives (the past and their future). I hope that Alexandra decides to revisit Luc and Madison again.

Eighteen and heartbroken, Maddy Philips left Las Vegas to get away from the memories of bad boy Luc Angeli. Eight years later, with a successful modeling career and an growing business under her belt, Madison returns to Vegas to settle the score and shut the door on her past and more specifically Luc.
Luc has done his fair share of growing up since Maddy left town, and the reformed bad boy regrets how things went down. Having her walk back into his life gives him a chance to try and make things up to her, and to show her that even a bad boy can change his colors. Assuming that he can prove himself to Madison, who is pretty determined to finally put her past to a close and move forward with her new life.
I loved this story! The characters were well developed and had such incredible chemistry, you wanted to keep reading and cheering for them to work things out. Maddy and Luc’s back story didn’t feel rushed, which you don’t often find in novellas, and I was pleasantly surprised. My only disappointment is that the story ended and I could have easily read a full length novel about Maddy and Luc, and I hope they show up in more of Ms. Ivy’s work.

Madison and Luc are the central characters in this book. They are very angsty and the background story draws you in. Story starts with Luc taking Madison's virginity and disappearing from her life..Madison never really got over that...
Fast forward to several years later when Madison meets up with Luc again--fireworks happen!!Madison has become a successful businesswoman, model and has tried to move past that incident with Luc but she never really, deep down, could. So when the chance to seek revenge against Luc occurs, she thinks to take it...but plans never go as planned and that is really when the story gets going ..First love never goes away. Will Madison truly be able to seek that type of revenge? The story is filled with colorful characters, stunning backdrops and such vivid main characters that when the story ended, I really wanted to read more.
I loved this story sooo much. I highly recommend this book. Alexandra Ivy is one of the hottest authors out there and she doesnt disappoint with this story. If looking for a good, hot read, then definately pick this book up!

This was definitely a hot quick read. At 122 pages, it’s perfect for a one sitting read, but be careful about reading it while sitting in the doctor’s office, you might need to fan yourself.
The book starts out with Madison’s birthday party, and Luc showing up, and then him breaking her heart when he walked away. Madison had a tough childhood, you could consider her being from the “wrong side of the tracks”. Luc on the other hand comes from money. You can see the conundrum here. He walked away, she doesn’t feel good enough, Luc had different reasons, Madison doesn’t know what they were, Luc is now completely determined to get her back.
I’ve been reading a lot of books lately where it’s the men doing the chasing and I am loving it. It’s about time they chased us, right ladies? :)

Her story lines and characters always seem to be so easy to picture in my mind as i'm reading and i love that. Normally i stick to paranormal romance but when its an author i know is so good i will branch out. And i'm glad i did for this one! First Rapture is a quick and steamy read. As Maddy tries to get revenge and break ties with her past she realizes she was just looking for one more reason to be with Luc, her high school love and the guy she gave her virginity and heart to. But the excuses she had built up in her head get torn down fast in the face of the man Luc has become after years of changing to be a better man. I will say that this story is very predictable, so if your looking for a mystery or twist this isn't it. But if you want a quick, steamy romance with a happily ever after then this is a good one for you!

First Rapture captures the readers interest with an erotic romp in the first chapter. Madison Phillips, aka "Maddy" has a typical teenage crush on Luc, the good-looking, popular, rich football playing high school stud. Maddy invites her Prince Charming to her 18th birthday party and is let down when he doesn't show, however, after the party he is awaiting her in her bed to take her up on her offer to deflower her. Steamy sex follows, with Luc running for the hills afterwards when Maddy confesses that she loves him. Fast forward 8 years and Maddy has become a famous model and owner of her own modeling agency leaving behind Luc & Las Vegas for New York. Only thing is Maddy can't seem to get thoughts of Luc out of her mind, she concocts a plan to get Luc "out of her system" and plans her revenge. Only in this case, revenge is served steamy hot. Will Maddy be able to put Luc behind her or is she in over her head. Read and find out! This was a very short, but enjoyable read. I'm interested in finding out what the remaining books in the series have in store.
