I once saw a sticker in the window of a beat-up old car in the USA. It read: Come over to the Dark Side. We got Cookies. It made me laugh.
The Dark Side can be amusing, as in Mrs Vogel's Ghost, but it can be very bleak indeed. Hantu-Hantu is one of the darker tales in this collection, set in Malaya back in the fifties.
