Dawn Menken is conflict resolution educator, teacher, facilitator, author and parent. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and works with children, adults and families in private practice. She is the author of Raising Parents Raising Kids: Hands-on Wisdom for the Next Generation, which was recently selected as a Finalist in the 2014 USA Best Book Awards, “Parenting & Family” category. She is the creator of Teens Rise Up (TRU), a cutting edge program that empowers and educates young people to step into their leadership, engage in honest dialogue and co-create a more welcoming school community. Dawn enjoys working with youth and holds Summer Leadership workshops for teens. She is a senior faculty member at the Process Work Institute in Portland, Oregon and was co-creator of its masters programs, serving as academic dean of the conflict facilitation program for ten years. She is also the author of Speak Out: Talking about Love, Sex and Eternity, a book of personal essays that explore themes of marginalization, relationship, and the basic essence of community.
