Jesus Loves Me, is a brightly illustrated children’s board book for 1-3 years old. Each page has a short story that explains to children that no matter what you may be doing with your busy day, (running & playing, or getting dressed or even eating your lunch), Jesus will always love you.
Debby Anderson's whimsical illustrations and kid-like style are the perfect way to introduce your toddler to Jesus.
Each of these fun books are designed to be sung to a familiar song and at the same time reinforce the simple biblical truths that Jesus loves and cares for us.
Debby Anderson is a kindergarten and first grade teacher, mom of 4 kids and grandma of 6! She and her husband, Gordon, serve with InFaith(dot)org where Debby enjoys opportunities to share God's love with children of all different cultures. Debby has written and illustrated more than 25 books.
Some parents love to sing, some don't. Most babies and young children LOVE to hear their parents sing. Debby Anderson's two books can help reluctant singers (like me!) to sing to and, when they get older, with their children.
This version of Jesus loves me, includes the familiar verse and chorus, but offers additional verses that follow a young child through their day. Jesus loves me when I eat, Jesus loves me when I play, Jesus loves me when I wash, etc. These verses aren't profound, but they do capture the omnipresence of God in a child's life.
We had this book for two children. One wasn't too interested and gravitated toward other titles, but for the other, this book, and it's companion are a precious keepsake. If you have a musical child (even if you aren't!) this is an excellent book to share/ sing with them.
The illustrations are cute with bold colors. The white background and bold illustrations will help develop visual acuity in infants. The rhythm and rhyme make this an easy read. It shows your child that Jesus loves you all the time but beyond that it's really just a book about a kid doing stuff. It ties in the religion by saying "Jesus Loves me when..." and then goes into a story. It's not a bad book and for an infant the repetitive text will drive home the religious points of the book for sure.
My daughter and I really enjoy this one. Debbie Anderson's illustrations are colorful and adorable. Keeps babies attention. She likes it when I sing the book or read it.
I have to be honest... this is my mom's book and I'm the little girl on the cover! All the same, I love the ease of the words and I love to sing it with my kids!
